Omg I’m so sorry he had to deal with that! I lost my partner this year not to circumstances like his but still it’s ripped me to pieces!💔😢 I can only imagine what he went through but can relate! Suicudes not the answer though n I get it it might seem like their only option for peace but there’s people who care! It’s not just you that this affects. However I hope the fallen souls are resting peacefully now. Thank you for all your doing up there sir!
Keith Lane set the precedent for showing compassion for people in distress up on Beachy Head. I personally find the Chaplains either lacking compassion, or too happy-clappy. If I was ever in distress and contemplating suicide, I would not want any of those judgey Christians trying to save me. Keith Lane has the right approach.
To be honest, I would sooner have a guy like him try and rescue me, who knows what it is like, rather than some God Squad who try and preach their views to you in a time of great sorrow!
This may sound daft, but when you look over the edge, it doesn't seem so far down. When you look up from the beach, it is very high. Keith has been stopped by the Elf and Safety brigade, and now have Chaplains patrolling. I know who i would rather talk to.
The Beachy Head Chaplains are now taking all the credit for trying to save people. I was last there in 2018 and someone jumped, one of the Chaplains was directing people away from where the Coastguard were going to be winched down. So this Chaplain is standing there laughing and joking about the situation and I should have recorded him, didn’t think of it. I thought he was lacking in compassion and was quite horrified. It seems some of them enjoy the kudos of being a “life saver” or have a great sense of importance. I found his attitude very un-Christian!
I feel bad for your pain due to your first wife's death, but no one has the right to interfere with anyone else. It's their decision, just leave people alone. Life can be appalling for some people, we are policed too much already.
@@MissOrchid12 Yes i get both sides of it. As someone who has been through this on a few occasions it's awful to experience. Anyone being witness would want to help, and some people can get better. Unfortunately there are many whose circumstances are awful though, and some people don't. I do understand your point though. It's natural to want to help someone in distress.

Oh Edward so sorry for your loss. You are an inspiration xxx
What a wonderful man. Why don’t they offer knighthoods to ordinary folk like him?

I was thinking that, it doesn't look high up from the pictures and videos. Probably is though, there's a reason it's a hotspot

It is around 530 feet high at its highest point.
@@wandawizard5605 Yeah, I know. Lived, and worked there for a good few years. Walked from Pinnacle Point to Birling Gap, many times.
@@cpfcjames7504 but isn’t that through the camera lense and probably a false perspective. I bet when your up on that ledge it’s high!😬👀
Is this the full film? If no0t would be able to post it?

Yes but when you hear some people recover from mental illness & lead a better life, isn't it worth trying to challenge them?
