Late upload. I waited until the Rumble finished because I needed to double check on the video. 2008-2009 SmackDown is extremely nostalgic for me, I had fun making this and while there were some issues with the brand, I felt that it's somewhat overlooked. What did you think of SmackDown 2008-2009?
I don't think it was overlooked because multiple stars hit their peaks at this time. Triple h, randy Orton, and Jeff hardy in particular hit their primes then. Other than 2006, the 08-09 period was their best period. This year is the year that smackdown finally started to get out of RAW's shadow
You know what’s crazy I’ve been literally rewatching matches and build ups including the regular episodes from smack down in 08 and honestly while they had hardy undertaker triple h the other matches on the show were god awful jimmy wang yang they disrespect the fuck outta chavo and it gets boring real fast looking back on even the ppv matches were the same for like 3 straight ppv sometimes
Undertakers prime and cenas prime were at the same time ? Lol that’s insane and doesn’t even make sense.. taker was around since what 1990? He hit his prime over a decade later
This is where everyone battles to say which era was overlooked and was a hidden gem and was underrated. I don't know why we can't just celebrate these times alone rather than having an alienating spotlight all over it.
Yes it is overlooked, especially SmackDown, Jeff Hardy & CM Punk feud, CM Punk Straight Edge Jesus gimmick, the underrated and forgotten Championship Scramble stipulation, Jericho as a heel at the top of his game and his feud with HBK, etc. The worst part is easily the weekly Special Guests from Raw.
Mickie James and Beth Phoenix carried that SmackDown Women’s Division in 2008 and 2009. Edge and Jeff Hardy were at the prime of their careers and the Undertaker still wrestled every week.
2008 smackdown had some interesting characters like big daddy v, matt hardy, the brian kendrick, etc and it was a fun time to be a wrestling fan I remember talking about wrestling a lot with my friend's
Well i grew up with this era much and for me it's pretty memorable in my perspective due to the feuds and off storylines. But thanks for the upload it was better than whatever i just saw right now at the rumble......

Smackdown was underrated between 2008 and 2009. Triple H killing it as a face and WWE champion, Edge still being the egotistical heel, Jeff Hardy finally winning the WWE championship, Undertaker still doing his thing and the rise of CM Punk. Plus Batista turning heel and destroying Rey Mysterio in the process. That was a good Smackdown. Didn't had the big stars like Raw but made up with superior storytelling.

definitely an underrated era, from the main event card to the divas division, smackdown owned this era. edge, jeff hardy, triple h, shelton benjamin, michelle mccool, maryse, and of course vickie guerrero and teddy long. smackdown was thee brand.

Even Taker's best moments to me were as a heel. Edge was the perfect heel, especially for Cena fans to hate. He shitted on fans, he won by any means necessary, and was the number one adversary for damn near every popular face at that time. I never experienced child fandom and this is definitely past my time (I'm an Attitude era baby) so I can appreciate Edge.

SmackDown was good during 2008-2010. It was only in 2011 that it stated to slip. Shawn Michaels and Edge were gone, The Hardys went to TNA, Chris Jericho kept appearing and disappearing, Undertaker wasn’t wrestling full time, John Laurinitis was boring everyone every week, and Triple H started his work with NXT. The only real Starpower on the roster during that time were John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Mark Henry, Kane, Christian, Daniel Bryan, and Big Show.

Shelton Benjamin getting his US title push was amazing because he was my fav growing up. Shoutout to triple h for putting a lot of these guys over in the main event (shelton benjamin, jeff hardy, brian kendrick, mvp)
Edge was amazing he saved us from Batista and cena always winning. I was an edge kid here’s why he acted like he wanted the title more than anyone and would do anything to get it. I thought as a kid if I’m a wrestler I would do what edge did cheat lol

Jack swagger was world champion for almost 3 months and Kane was world champion for 5. In this time period smackdown was by far the B show

I feel like they only reason he got it was because there wasn’t really anyone else besides Rey Mysterio (who was the one who dropped the title to Kane). I got to be honest with you. Making Jim Ross go to SmackDown in the long term was beneficial to him. Imagine if he never got drafted to SmackDown, would he be at AEW now? Probably not. So thank the 2008 draft for that. Because it helped him get to AEW

Smackdown in that late 2000s was incredible you had the rise of guys like cm punk and many others. You had alot of great matches and storylines back then it was so good that it was better then anything raw was doing at the time and raw was garbage back then.
one thing i loved was that Taker never went over to Raw he was the definition of SMACKDOWN AT THIS TIME … but i would’ve love another Orton/Taker story especially at that time Orton was hot and ofc they waited to long for John/Taker
