    I love river videos soooo much, watched you walk down the river with your buds like three times. This is amazing, thanks for your efforts

    While you did not catch a 20" smallmouth in episode 2. You are doing very well with numbers. That says a lot for lure selection.
    Keep it up and that PB will arrive soon.

      That 20" will definitely take some time but that is okay with me :)

    Glad to see a new video! I injured my shoulder and my doctor told me no fishing for at least a month😢 so I needed the cheering up 👀

    The river is always a devious one.

      Rivers are fun, but definitely challenging!

    John is definitely good inspiration. A wacky rigged watermelon and pearl laminate Yum dinger worked great for me this morning. Plenty of large mouth in the 2 to 3 pound range at the local park pond this morning.

      Heck yeah! Love to hear it :)

    You're trying and learning new things spots. River smallies are challenging sometimes but good choice to throw multiple lures. Like all of those choices. 30 years of chasing them and I'm still learning brother. Keep going.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  ปีที่แล้ว

      We will never stop learning - that is the fun part about fishing :)

    i live right behind a nice river. I get 4lbs+ bass back to back off the bank here sometimes. I find river fishing for me is either really good or very slow.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! Yeah rivers are very complicated but that is why this challenge will be a fun one.

    You got those lampreys running scared.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol true. Side note - I must admit that I have been made aware that the Lamprey I "got rid of" was actually a Chestnut Lamprey which is native. Now that I know, I will be returning them to the water to maintain their role in the ecosystem. Sea Lamprey are much larger (and scarier) lol

    River smallmouth has always been my long-term fishing ambition (in my case from a canoe), so I am psyched for this series and relate to the challenges you’re facing. It’s worth it!

    You’ve got the right idea man, I’ve been fishing the river in my city in Texas for 5 years now and what I’ve learned is to always cover water and fish the conditions. I feel like they are very temperamental, and the key on my river is wind blown current since the natural current there is minimal. If there is a ripple on the water I’m good to fish most areas. If not I fish the bends where a lot of cover can stack up underwater. But you’re right conditions change between every trip and you’re best off covering a ton of water like you did, and once you figure out what they will bite just roll with it until they won’t anymore. It looked like you were fishing in slick calm weather, that’s not easy anywhere! I’m glad you still caught a few 🤙🏽. I’ve had some really good river trips on my channel this year too.

      Awesome! River fishing in Texas sounds like a blast! I hope to fish down there someday.

    You should do a video on the types of rods you use for bass fishing an what type of line you use as well cause i would be interested in watching that also

    I can never figure out which is the best approach; t stave off the wanderlust and learn a stretch of river like the back of my hand, or travel all over trying new spots?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly it is so hard for me to know. But I think you need to do a mixture of both to be honest.

    Like watching your ultralight series and now your river smallies series! Keep up the great work. Have you tried swapping your treble hooks for singles?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  ปีที่แล้ว

      I still have never tried singles but it is something I intend to try on ultralight jerkbaits at some point.

    Do you use a weight with the yum dinger

    • @FishAnything

      I have been fishing it on a weighted weedless jig, anywhere from 1/16oz to 3/16oz.
