Looks good! Reminds me of the game tables me and some friends used to play on in 1/72 scale. One guy had a 12 x 6 foot table. We had a lot of good games on that bis table, especially when we set it up for 1/300 gaming.
Cheers Nick, they really are great aren't they? I would have gone with 10mm if I was starting from scratch, but having billions of 15mm already, my choice was made!
I also have a shed load of 15mm figures but I’m looking at the range of 10mm vehicles, AFV’s and armour. Looking back I wish I’d bought the blitzkrieg flames of war vehicles. LoL. I have 20mm blitzkrieg minis bought for a Dunkirk battle that was fought between a scratch battalion of Brits to fill a 5,000 metre front to stop a German advance for 24hours. Scenario from Model Soldier Magazine bought in the 1970’s. Suggested rules were your old favourite rules but I was going to use IABSM by inserting a BHQ and using 4 companies instead of one. I bought ‘O’ Group on a pre publication deal with all the bits. I forget the name of the battle as my memory is deteriorating.
Very enjoyable and we'll explained, great dice rolls and some good action points 🤔 Once I get my head around IABSM and CoC I will have a look at O'group🙄😁 keep up the good work and keep rolling them dice 🤓👍
Do you reckon Company B were made hesitant by the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy dreaming about three broads he met on leave, rather than radioing through the orders to advance? 😉
Just a point for future games. I believe you were using one order to command the four T34/76's. They are actually two platoons so each platoon (2 tanks) requires an order. The Russian advantage is they are cheaper to purchase as four tanks rather than two separately costed platoons but still operate as two platoons when deployed.
Having played a few games now, what thoughts do you have around basing size. I’m thinking of playing but in 6mm as I already have XXX Corps just need a late war german force.
My basing will be what I use for pretty much everything, except single based figures, and what you can see in these videos. It's the small size FoW bases with 2/3 figures on (except for the Soviets, but that's another story). It's just the basing I have always used and will continue to do so.
Will you do a another review now that you’ve had more experience and time with this ruleset? I’m extremely interested in buying the rules but I’m currently getting my head around another ruleset for napoleonics.
Yes I’m watched it a couple of times 😂 I was just wondering if your opinion had changed and also how it compared to others. I know a few ex military guys and some family members who are still in and find it impressive and realistic.
@@BearGrisham TBH, no it hasn't. I've only had a chance to play solo, but next week I'll be taking it down to my club to play with multiplayer, so I'm interested to see how it works like that.
Ah right so no need for a separate review then! I can imagine it will be great fun and I look forward to seeing how you go with opposition! Thanks again and keep up the great content! 👍
I'm still trying to understand the rules, so forgive me. I'm sure it says that you cannot deploy a combat patrol marker within 8 inches of an enemy, so surely you shouldn't be deploying them right on top of the Germans?
You can't, im not sure which bit your referring to in the game as I recorded this over a year ago, but if I did it, then I got it wrong. Don't take these videos as instructional.
@@StormofSteelWargaming I have always done since discovering your channel and I see a new rule purchase in the New Year as if I need a new rule st Lol I had at first discounted "O" group as it looked complicated on watching some reviews on Utube but you make it look imminently playable
@@nirnman cheers! O Group is pretty simple once you get used to it, it's all pretty intuitive after a couple of game turns. It moves fast and is a great game based on tactical decision making over granular detail. I'm sure you'll love it. In my first play of O Group video, I go over the commands in a bit more detail than in this video.

Very useful AAR to clarify some lements of the rules. Thanks indeed
Thank you!
Thank you, my rules came earlier in the week, so this is a very timely help in breaking into these.
My pleasure Norm, I hope the video is helpful and you enjoy the game yourself. I wouldn't take my video as instructional though...
Great work Alex. We’re loving these rules too. Playing in 10mm really works for them, but your 15mm look great as well

hold my beer, planning to go 6mm.
The german's really needed that gigantic second tiger to knock out those soviet tanks.

Very enthralling!
Cheers Steve!
halfway through, but enjoying the heck out of it. Go Tiger Go!
Ha ha, I'm glad you're enjoying the video!
Have to agree a favourite of mine as well
Its great isn't it?

Yep, i realised that after I'd finished editing the video. Cheers.

At around the 17 minute mark, you're rolling each T-34 separately. Should you be rolling these as pairs of tanks?
No, each tank is a separate section and fires individually
@@StormofSteelWargaming Ta!
Wonder if the Commissar in cyA should have shot the company commander an rerolled orders
What size is your table size just to see if my start point is ok.
Six foot by four foot.
Is this scenario from a specific book or something you came up with through your own research?
The latter.
Do you think there is too much dice rolling??
No more than any other game, TBh.
@@StormofSteelWargaming I just think it’s because there are so many units. It’s the first play through I’ve watched

fantasic game but without the rules, I was a bit lost at the orders stage but it certainly has piqued my interest

If you are into WWII Wargames it is a must have.
It helps to understand the problems of a battalion leader in the period 1939 to the Cold War period.
1 hr 20. 6+2=8, not 7 ;)
yep, it was several hours into a long game.
