Lovely jubbly. Funky one for you here Rhys. FAB with black booby cord tail. Emu hackle body.....it's a bugger to get hold of, I had mine for years and haven't seen any since, it's half way between ostrich herl and ordinary hackle material....5 turns in olive. 2 turns of black pseudo hackle/ organza at the head. Orange thread. No idea what they take it for, but tied small in mid summer, late evenings.......the bizniz.
I have become fairly proficient at tying blobs with FNF Jelly Fritz. I think I can adapt that fairly easily to tying FABs. How do you judge how buoyant you want your FAB to be?
Based on the amount of foam you tie. Most anglers either use a whole booby chord or cut it in half. I prefer the latter as for me it resulted in better hook ups and less tail nips 👍

Black booby cord/emu/organza, sounds like a lucky dip of fly materials 😂👍
Hi Rhys love that FAB, can i ask why you put foam in the oven please 😀 and is it silky of me to ask a temp. Love those colours ordering them today
It just hardens and shapes the foam a bit. Trout don't care all that much, anglers do 😂 180 for around 90 seconds
