They can "invite" all they want, but they do not have to show up because, as any 5th grader knows, "Congress has no general authority to investigate the purely private affair of an ordinary citizen. ... While Congress can investigate conduct that may be criminal, Congress itself lacks the authority to bring criminal charges or otherwise initiate a criminal prosecution." If they do, they are breaking FEDERAL LAW and they themselves can be charged accordingly.

@@The_Conqueeftador BLM' events started out as peaceful events among their members and grew into a world wide frenzy. Yes, some people got hurt,loss of property, some not so lucky. For the first time in decades there were so many people who were united for a cause. For that reason some were jealous of all of the attention and now they use the name BLM to signify terror instead of addressing those who committed the bad behavior. BLM was and is not a terrorist organization. MTG keeps using them to stir up her ignorant base.

I appreciate the objective reporting in questioning whether Biden's comment could in any way persuade Garland's decision to formally charge Bannon. But I have to agree with Raskin that this is not the same situation we had with Trump. Although Biden should NOT have made that comment, and did in fact apologize for making it, Garland is not afraid of losing his job if he doesn't do what Biden feels is the "right thing". This is not a case like Barr, or Rosen, who were afraid that going against Trump's "wishes" would get them replaced.
