There are many thing that Malaysia ahead of Thailand but not this. I know that you proud of your own country its a good thing but you seem to be confuse the one you mention, the floating part is very small and it build on a shallow pond (ex-mining pond) it not generates the amont of electricity you claim at all, not even close!
Dont you curious if it that great why it never shows on the international news ??? FYI this isnt first floating solar farm that Thailand got , the first one that ever develope in this region is in Singapore.
I mean. How can you compare the simple land solar farm + some part in a little pond to the Hybrid Hydro power plant + giantic floating solar farm ? Im quite sure Malaysia cant do this scale or type of solar farm not that you cant, but because of you dont have any big dam that equal to Thailand or other Asean countries the largest dam or lake you got still much smaller than the dam in this vdo and this one not even the largest one in Thailand, and you know what ? the solar panel is cover less than 1% of the water surface in the dam (so it easily add more if SCG wanted to) unless you do it in the sea which not gonna worth the investment cause Malaysia planty of gas and oil that you can burn it to generate electricity much cheaper than building solar farm.
In total solar farms capacity in Thailand reach 2,800 MW since 2015 that is more than the rest of all Asean countries combined cause Thailand dont have enough source of gas oil or coal to produce electricity and still need to import all of them from abroad!
So if you wanna compare the solar farm on the land, the largest one in Asean Thailand still holding this title ! in the future there will be larger one in Vietnam Phillipines or maybe Indonesia there are many projects under construction that will be larger than in Thailand. But they are all still long way behind !
The one in Selangor, seriously? lol
