- The Battlefield Line Railway, April 1st, 2017, Leicestershire, England. Filmed in 4K Ultra HD. Featured steam locomotive, The London & South Western Railway, LSWR, T9 Class, 4-4-0, 30120, 'Greyhound', designed by Dugald Drummond, built Nine Elms, 1899, guest locomotive from Bodmin & Wenford Railway. Starting off at Shackerstone Sheds, and footage on the footplate. Steam locomotive, Austerity 0-6-0ST, Cumbria, Furness Railway Trust, on shed at Shackerstone. Capturing the 11.15am departure. Further filming around Shackerstone and the return of the T9. Catching the 12.30 departure for Shenton. Alighting at Market Bosworth to film 30120's departure. Further filming of the Leicestershire countryside along the route between Shackerstone and Shenton. Thanks to Sam, John for showing me the T9.
Wonderful 4K clarity as ever - brilliant in full-screen mode! Visited Shackerstone several time in the 1980s but never saw anything actually running. Come to think of it, I don't think the sheds were even built then. One of the industrial diesels looks very vaguely familiar. Back in the present, 'Greyhound' looks to be in excellent condition. Tremendous footplate detail. Thanks for sharing. Bob K
Thank you Bob!. First time i've been to The Battlefield Line Railway this year!. I saw the T9 a few years back at one of the steam galas at BLR. A real treat seeing the 'Greyhound' again!. Hi Brian, Thank you, yes seeing your excellent video at BLR prompted me to pop down and see the T9 in action myself. The Battlefield Line Railway is the closest Heritage Railway to where i live!. A thrill seeing 30120 in action. Thanks for your comments Brian!
