    Hi Peter. And l thought we were going to see the GT6 ! Now that IS a challenge ! How you manage to work in your long narrow shop defies belief ! You must have someone to help move the larger pieces around ? As you say , very shoddy work on the outriggers but at least they were in sound condition . The front and rear tubs looked to be in pretty good order too. Is this for you ? Cheers Peter !

      My wife and my next door neighbour helped me with the lifting.
      This video was, video number seven in a series of videos. If you look at the other six in this series, you will see the body tub and bulkhead we're not in very good condition.
      The outriggers were fitted some 20 years ago, by somebody who couldn't weld to save his life. which is why I had to re-fit and weld then again.
      This car was for me but I have since sold it. I never keep them for long I get more pleasure from restoring them than driving around in them.
      I do have a series of GT6 videos which I will be uploading shortly.

    A very informative video once again showing your incredible skill. May I ask a question, you mensioned the importance of the shims. What is the procedure if like in my case my spitfire was already completely stripped and I have no idea of how many shims were used front or rear? I would much appreciate any advise. Thank you

      First of all, did you get all the shims with the car, probably not. if you did just put equal amounts of shims either side on the front and rear.
      If you didn't get the shims with the car. I would put 4 shims either side on the front wishbones to start with. On the Tourette's one shim each side. On the rear that would be determined by the person who does the tracking on the car after its complete. so you would need to supply whoever with the necessary amount of shims. Make sure you take the car to be tracked. To an old school garage or even better to a triumph workshop.
      Hope that helps.

    Hi Peter, does the GT6/Spitfire chassis have the same datum hole locations as the Vitesse chassis?

    • @peterdunne8107
      @peterdunne8107  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they all have the same datum hole in the same location on the chassis, that is the Herald, Vitesse, Spitfire, GT6
