West Branch Wynoochee River | Kayak

The West Branch Wynoochee above Maidenhair Falls. S. Fork Skokomish gauge was at ~1100cfs and the Humptulips @101 was ~2400cfs. We ended up hiking out not too far above Maidenhair Falls due to one major unknown rapid in the gorge. Spent half the day scouting before heading down the canyon.

Very interesting and congratulations on scoring that run. Don’t remember if Scout M. or anyone else explored that run 30 plus years ago. That Box Gorge kinda brings back very remote considerations of a narrow box canyon just above the normal put in on Jefferson Creek. Nice viewing from a bridge above. Logs a major concern but perhaps but once in awhile, an epic cleansing might occur and become a hard core possibility

Thanks for the beta. I can now scratch this run off my list. Way too much wood. So many rivers to chose from in WA, no need for me to run a river with that much risk/wood. Risk vs reward.
