- In this episode I'll be telling you 2 True Scary Off The Grid Stories. Some people don't enjoy the big city life and so choose to live out their lives deep in the wilderness and or off the grid. These 3 stories are about creepy and scary encounters from the perspective of people living off the grid themselves. From living on the road in an RV to childhood trauma that still resides to this day.

Nah that was either fake or highly exaggerated. The railroad workers punched and stomped them for over 10 minutes and they were able to get up and walk away? Come on 🙄
Well they were 2 bums doing heroine and people can be very violent. I once got beat up by the whole supermarket staff for trying to steal some food.
I live off grid. It always amuses me when people talk about it like it’s safer than living in the city. The wilderness attracts a lot of really strange people. I can’t imagine those who live in truly isolated areas unarmed.
I’m semi off grid. We get everything from prowlers to bears. I now have the place lit up 24/7. It helps.
Tweakers in the trees are ruining everything. I was going to move back home to the woods until I found out it's turned into the Meth Mitten. Isolated crazy people I can deal with.

@@EllesGhost13 Yes, I have dogs. I have lights. I have firearms. I have plenty of bears and cougars but the weapons are not for them. My real problem is tweakers. I’m not really concerned about my place when I’m there. But, If I am gone for any length of time, they will steal anything and everything.
The guy in the first story is one of the first to die in a horror film. Seriously, the kids said he was armed, so you go off running in the woods ,unarmed, looking for him. Because you think your kids are not so bright? You sir, are not so bright.
And why's he yelling "Marty" at the guy after telling us that's just the name he and the kids gave the dude? Fake story.

3:58 "With a chimney that puffed up smoke like a grumpy old man" made me crack up very hard!!! It gave me a vivid mental image of my 75 year old narcissistic cranky father who was a chain smoker ever since he was a child...and still is!
People choose to live off the grid to be free of government and peace. With solar panels and generators wells and free flowing springs who needs all those bills.

That last story was really written well. As a recovering addict, it hit home. It's a vicious cycle that is the same every time. They start off flying to the moon only to end up fighting to keep from being dragged to hell. And that is multiple times a day, day-by-day, year-by-year. Either they decide to fight it and try to make the conscious effort to put it down. Or they succumb to it that last time while telling themselves that tomorrow is going to be different after this One. Last. Time...

I was in recovery for close to 5 years, after 15+ years of active addiction 😔 and now I've been back out for almost 2 years this time. It seemed with Marty in the 1st story had a premonition about the new family being his downfall in the murder of his wife, or maybe it was her calling from her shallow grave to the family. I'm glad her murder was solved.

I can totally attest that there are some absolute psychos off-grid. Most people are cool but every once in a while you'll encounter a real psychopath. Wherever there are people, no matter how far apart, there will be drama.

The first story was annoying as hell. Letting your kids wander around in the woods with a crazy man. Chasing the man down without a weapon, knowing he had one. Should have called the sheriff first thing.

I tend to romanticize "riding the rails," and having no responsibilities...
I was rooting for them the whole time and didnt expect it to go where it did.
So sad, but i totally get the allure of that lifestyle.

Second story, I was waiting for when it would become scary. Was disappointed.
