honestly it appears to have more variety than pros who always play the meta, though i am more of an aoe2 person rather than a ra2 person so i might be wrong
@@ompskatelitty5356 i played a pro game before and it's chaotic. Both side send out dogs to scout and also to stop the other from scouting, iron curtain + rinho tank combo almost got the opponent mcv but the guy forgot to micro, siege choppers spams, Tanya+ nighthawks tricks, black eagles aiming for ore refiner or miners, chrono troops and rocketeers harrasses. And that's just 10 minutes into the game. Pretty fun to play tho. I mostly got humiliated quick due to how slow i am compares to the rest.
It's always helpful to watch these red alert videos in x2 normal speed. :D

You sure you aren't playing against A.I here? That's the only way I'd expect such non-reaction to harasses.
No they're players, you can clearly see them moving mvcs and troops to protect the miners, both side is slow in my opinion tho, yellow could have gotten blue mvc way earlier on with carriers but he missed the chance
8:34 the way the Blue player made the fleet move away with the cannon and shoot down the fighters with jetpack reinforcements was really well timed :)

Admit-tingly it took me a while to work out if the opposition were players as they didn't really do anything clever... The only thing that really gave that away was all the turtling since AI generally attacks you ever so often but ah well I know that it takes a bit of time to get used to fighting other players. Between them both they seemed more interested in defense rather than going after you.
My favorite bit of the battle had to be when the Green player was like "Oh no ya don't" before redeploying his MCV when he realized what was about to happen. :D

I felt sorry for green and blue. They were obviously out matched early on. They also need to learn that you cannot win a game with defences. That only delays the inevitable.

So how important is macro in this game? because banking 40000 resources in most RTS games is terrible and basically means you have lost. But I dont play it that seriously so I'm unsure.
Macro doesn't get you much of an advantage in RA2(in comparison to let's say Starcraft) because you can only have 1 active unit production facility at a time. If you have 3 barracks/war factory/naval yard, only 1 will pump out a unit, the other 2 simply make the active facility faster at producing units.
I never played online myself, but is it fun when you have a lot of resources like this? I mean, isnt it funnier when you have to fight for your money, fight for gold around the map?
Allied seems riddiculously OP on this map.
+ANSIcode Late game Allies is OP, especially once they start spamming Prism Tanks. That and Aircraft Carriers are generally better than Dreads.
+The Ugly Barnacle Nah the Soviets have the most OP units
@@redalertsteve_ this is why most soviet players play more aggressively early on because they're much better early game compared to allies

Go to the directory where it is installed then open ra2.ini for Red Alert 2 or ra2md.ini for Yuri's Revenge, look for [Video] and then edit the screenwidth and screenheight to your resolution, save and open Red Alert 2 or Yuri's Revenge, the menu should not be scaled right but when you play a match it should take up the whole screen with a right scale
