Enjoyed your reaction! I've listened to this over and over and over and still see and hear things that make me smile - this is one of their best covers ever, if not THE best. I think everyone that hears this stands up, falls over backwards, screams - when Kevin has that "Babee" moment.
It's really neat how they all seem to be fans of each other. When they stop singing before Kevin's moment, Kirstie is watching him with a big smile.

Yes, Kevin is still handling percussion while playing the cello. I see that I've been remiss on filling you in about the members.
Somewhere there may be a better beatboxer than Kevin Olusola (pronounced Oh-loosh"-oh-luh', primary emphasis on the second syllable, secondary emphasis on the fourth syllable), but if so I've never encountered him or her. Kevin is generally too busy being the entire percussion section to sing, but when he does sing he has a lovely tenor voice that occasionally dips into the uppermost reaches of baritone, and he's known for the beauty of his falsetto. He's also a pretty good rapper.
Kevin has perfect pitch. He began piano lessons at age 4, cello at age 6, and alto saxophone at age 10. He beatboxes while playing the cello, a technique he calls "celloboxing." (In fact, it was a viral TH-cam video of Kevin celloboxing that first brought him to the trio's attention back in 2011 when they were desperately searching for a beatboxer to fill out the band.) Kevin performed at Carnegie Hall twice when he was a teenager, once on piano and once on saxophone. He graduated from Yale in 2011 with a pre-med major and had already been accepted to Yale Medical School before he decided to become a professional beatboxer instead of a brilliant surgeon. He speaks five languages fluently: English, French, Spanish, German, and Mandarin Chinese. He's one of the kindest people in the world, and when he laughs he makes the whole planet seem like a brighter place.

Great reaction. And yes, Kevin's "bag" is quite full. Cello boxing is how the group found Kevin, part of their history. One tiny thing, you said Kirsty (perfect) then you said "or Kristen" (oops, almost!).

You identified everyone correctly, with one caveat. Kirstin's name is NOT Kristin, and it really bugs her when people call her that. You got her nickname, Kirstie, right, and Kirstie rhymes with thirsty. If her name was Kristin her nickname would be Kristy, which doesn't rhyme with much of anything, but frisky comes close.
Further note on Kirstin's name: In 2011, when Pentatonix got their start, Kirstin was 19 years old and had completed one year of college. At that time she used "Kirstie" as her stage name, and this seems to have continued until at least 2014, when she is billed as "Kirstie Maldonado" in SuperFruit's "FROZEN MEDLEY (feat. Kirstie Maldonado)" (which is well worth watching, BTW - stick around after the obvious end for the blooper reel). However, it is now 2024. Kirstin is 31 years old and has been a mother for the last year and a half. Her stage name is now "Kirstin," and that is how the other members of Pentatonix refer to her in interviews. I believe that at this point she prefers to reserve the use of her nickname for close friends and family only and to use her given name with fans.
