NO apology...No remorse...just pure arrogance!!! So happy the way Captain Johnathan handled this..a lot better than I would have!!!
"It's just ancient history!"
I said that very same thing to her as I was watching (out loud - as if she could hear me. )
She didn't remember it. Come on.
My late wife would have left me for Johnathon. !! Ha. Especially when he had his long hair. Everyone Loves Johnathon, Great Guy.
You realize half this show is scripted right?

She's asking people she doesn't know if she can captain their boats and is surprised when they say no.
Not just that but like he said he has 2 captains why would she think he’d need a 3rd who he supposedly to her didn’t know and cut a decent chunk of cheddar for her 😂
It’s boomer mentally
A captain with no boat is no captain at all
That’s how it works though. The captains has the quota. It means that John would get a portion of the profits of the extra quota. But he has two captains so he probably doesn’t need it
What she doesn’t understand is that he’s not holding a grudge. He learned a lesson.
That’s what I try to tell people daily why I do what I do with my money and my business. Because Ive learned, and don’t take success advice from people that are less-successful. 🍻🤠🫡
Very true! And he’s not about to get burnt again.
👏👏👏Best comment of the lot!!!! 👍
He handled that in a very classy way, despite the fact she had no remorse. Great dude.
Gear interaction is one thing but to outright cut someone else's lines. Yeah right lady. I take Jonathan 's word over yours.
I concur
I concur also
Even if she was right she could of just said I'm sry that's kind of how we did things over there (which it's not im from Massachusetts) but it would have been better then telling him it ancient history

Umm, have you ever heard of the boat Andrea Gail from the movie 'A Perfect Storm'? She was the captain of it's sister boat from the movie and she was played by Mary Mastrantonio in the movie. If the lines get tangled in your screws, you may have to cut it for the safety of your crew and boat. A boat with no propulsion is a hazardous situation. I think this was a staged scene for drama.

That's an incredible dichotomy of character.

I completely understand Jonathan's decision. You do not mess with someone else's gear and means of income. Jonathan is not questioning her skills and her experience. He is questioning her ethics and rightly so. To simply say that this is "ancient history" is ridiculous. That said, Jonathan has shown that he is willing to lie to other captains when it suits him, so he is no angel either.
Big difference between lieing and tampering with gear.
It is a matter of degrees. Both show a lack of integrity. But yes, messing with someone's means of income certainly is worse. The fact that she didn't own up to it made it worse and that of course can become a trust issue which can be deadly when sitting on bridge of that boat@@RHomer-ov5pz

How can you not like the Hillstrands
Both Andy and Jonathon I could easily go to work for! Definitely two of the best captains in Alaska!
Sounds like she’s a liability from her own words and his
By her mentality “I might’ve cut his line, but really we did each other a favor.” that would be equivalent to crab fishermen in the Bering Sea grabbing each others pots if they ever get tangled and cutting the buoy’s off then setting them back, costing the other fisherman several thousand dollars of gear and product.
For someone like that to come to him and ask for a hand after messing with his gear, even if a couple decades ago, I’m glad he said no.
