I wanted to come back after my reset, and Thank You So So Much, I was honestly worried something bad would happen, but I followed your directions, and backed up my iCloud right before resetting my phone, and everything worked out perfectly, all of my apps are loading back up, there’s only a couple left that are loading, and my storage space is down to almost nothing, when it was too full to do anything, I deleted almost all my apps, and pics and it was saying it was still too full smh, but now it’s nearly empty, this is amazing, thank you so so much!!

I was having the same issues. You guys need to backup your phone first and then reset it. But don’t do (reset all settings) do (erase all content and settings! That will take you to the beginning like if the phone was brand new. But don’t worry you won’t lose anything everything is backed up on iCloud and the (other) storage goes way down.
Tanhya Handley how do I back it up? I’m having this same exact problem and no calls will go through or messages will send. I bought I could storage for a dolar and I don’t know what it does
ThatFakeBlonde you go settings and then your name. Click on iCloud and scroll down you’ll see iCloud backup there.

I deleted like 15+ photos and lost 900 mb. I love iPhone’s logic.
Well if it’s photos, there is recently deleted, if you have already to deleted that..., then download google photos, back them up on to the app. Then turn off your iCloud, or in general your Apple ID account. The other will die down drastically. I think Icloud saves the photos in case... I am not sure... this worked for me now I have back 15gb.
This is really useful tip! i've saved about 17GB.
However, it is VERY much advisable to manually back up files like documents and images. As some document/image viewing app DOES NOT back up its contents even though the iCloud backup option is turned on. It only backs up the settings of those apps. For a very much understandable reason of possibly handling sensitive documents.
I cant tell you how excited I am to carry out the factory reset and finally say goodbye to the other storage on my iPhone. Had like 2 mini breakdowns during my unending fight scrambling for storage but soon I’ll finally be free from it. Thank you so much for the comprehensive TH-cam video! And good luck to anyone else also setting out on their journey to end their battle with “other storage”.

I’m so glad I found this video. After endless searches on the internet for help and those articles being no use. I finally found this video. I had to factory reset but I had 29gb (yes 29!!) of “other” on my 64gb phone. I was running at 62/64 used. I couldn’t update my phone bc there wasn’t enough storage. But I did this- and it’s all gone now!!! Thank you so much

Yeah so a week ago I was on my iPhone as any other day..... strangely I got an odd notification bubble that said “iPhone storage full”..... we all know that annoying pop up. But moving on I clicked manage storage and I wanted to see what on earth could have filled my iPhone XS (512GB) with half a 1TB of local storage. So I’ve noticed the “other” using 47.9GB. So I’ve deleted my largest apps at the top of the list(about 15-20) apps. But then I reinstalled them and guess what I freed up about 75GB of space. But that “other” was still using (47.9GB). Honestly I had no idea what on Earth that was. I told myself a cloud back up and factory Reset would be my only option and yeah it worked. “Other” is now using 2.33GB of space.

I followed your instructions and it was really really helpful!! Thank you! My phone is only 32 Gb iPhone 6s plus. From 29.5 Gb down to 23.2 Gb after i cleared the history and data on my Safari and deleting some unused apps. Then I back up my photos in google photos and backed up others apps in my iCloud then i reset everything, now its only 15 Gb!!! Thank you!!!!!

What can I say that everybody else hasn’t already said?! This is an excellent tutorial! I have used it once before when I had my iPhone 8. I have since purchased an iPhone SE, 2 generation With 128 gigs Like two years ago but here lately it has been so laggy and nothing wants to load on it and I mean nothing! I found an article that suggested Things to try before doing reset and I tried all that stuff and None of it worked. So I’m doing this method again as I have this video saved in my iPhone info playlist. I am still waiting for it to reboot but I’m pretty sure all will be well. Thank you so much!
I deleted some of my downloads in TH-cam and it helped me deleted 4-7 GB,it helped me a lot! And thanks for the techniques,also helped!

Why would you delete half your photos I deleted like 3 and realized it wasn’t helping the storage. You gotta rest your phone dude it’s the only way to fix this problem just backup your photos and data first

SAME. My iPad used to have four or five pages of random apps and there was no storage problem at all. This all happened out of nowhere, and I can’t do anything on my iPad anymore because I don’t have storage. All I have are three drawing apps, InShot, Kinemaster, and TH-cam. I deleted practically half of my camera roll, most of my photos that are still there were taken in early 2019. Barely anything from 2020, and guess what? I STILL DON’T HAVE ENOUGH STORAGE

I was nervous asf to erase all content and settings but my storage was reading really wrong after I deleted a ton of stuff and it showed 42gb of system data and 19gb of photos even tho I deleted them all. So i backed it up like you said and went for the full reset and it totally fixed the storage issues and cleared all that bs. Thank you so much! Anyone reading this comment yes it works. Make sure you back up, I used iTunes and everything went perfectly.

This is a life saver!. Using an iphone SE running in ios 15 and that other/system data was occupying my phone, it is so unusable since my phone is only 16 gigs. Literally no storage for any app.😞

Thanks I went from 31 gb to 16 gb! That’s reallyyyy helpful for me. And all of my data and photos were really backup. Even my accounts on social media apps like YT, Tiktok, Twitter, etc. are all logged in except for Telegram which I need to log in again but it’s fine and doable. Gosh I would probably do this every 2-3 months to get rid of that “others”. Thanks again!
I am using an iPhone X 64GB, my system/other day was 50 odd GB and I was in the verge of getting a new phone until I saw this video. Thanks so much, the advices really helped me. Actually I didn’t require to restore factory setting. Once I backed up on iCloud, 40gb was freed 😀

The tutorials will literally recommend you to delete your safari stuffs ..messages, n all that nonsense that doesn’t work and moreover the freakin storage keeps on increasing
try to sign out ur apple id for a while, then go to ur iphone storage that ‘other’ will decrease. i just did the same at my phone, hope it helps.
Last step helped me, it made a huge difference on my iPhone storage.

your backup is stored in icloud not in your phone storage, those are two different spaces

Try offloading your apps first if you haven't already! It doesn't delete the data itself, just the space of the app. Then you should have enough in there to backup using iCloud. The same thing happened with me.

I just transferred all of my photos to my computer, it gave me 4 GB back. Two weeks later it says I’m full again-That’s impossible! I continuously delete conversations , delete my web history, use only 100 photos at a time... this is ridiculous, I have 64GB and should not have to go through this. Apple trying to get us to buy new phones!
Ismehya so i fixed mine by doing a erase all content make sure your backed up to the latest update go to Settings > general > scroll down > reset > erase all content and settings
