- Here's exactly why #multiversus died. MutiVersus has tons of potential of being a good game. With a cast as diverse as this cast could be I feel like they left out a ton of characters. Multiversus was pretty fun for me before being eventually shut down. The developers said that were going to be rebooting this game in early of 2024 and I couldn't be any more hyped but the one thing that really pisses me off about the game is the microtransactions. I get that it's a free game but I feel like it works for games like Fortnite but not a platform fighter. Let me know what you guys think about this game in the comment section.

the reason it failed is because they had a small team of only 12 devs. if they had a bigger team prior to launch it would’ve been a success. now they have a team of 80+ people and are coming back bigger and better than ever no doubt

I just think it’s crazy we live in the timeline that got rick & morty as Separate playable characters in a fighting game as big as this one. before Justin roiland got cancelled too! That is a big w nobody talks about anymore!
I think multi-verses was a great game and I’m ready for it to make a come back, but one thing I’ve always hated about it is how it focuses too much on the online aspect. Like you couldn’t even load up the game without having an Internet connection as if it were Fortnite or something. That makes sense for fortnite because it’s an online shooter with no story mode. But multi-verses was a fighting game that you could do couch co-op versus matches in, which don’t require online at all- but still I need an Internet connection just to start the game up?

The reason for there being no regular show characters is because Warner Bros hates Regular show and would rather people forget it existed if they could.
I used to love regular show. Hell, I still do. Kinda wish they were still making episodes. Anyways I agree. I feel like regular show is a popular show don't get me wrong but has always been the the shadow of Adventure Time. Don't get me wrong I love Adventure Time too. But regular show needs some love too
@@CoreyDavid22 With how they treated the final season of Regular show vs the final episode of Adventure time. I can't believe anything other than they hate regular show and want nothing to do with it. Couldn't even give Regular show a marathon to send it off. The final episode just aired and that was it. Adventure got the entire day that its finale aired dedicated exclusively to Adventure time's finale on repeat.

dont agree with like half your points, the game was very fun and the characters felt good to use, and youtubers being promote a game is not a knock against a game. But after the game officially released out of beta the servers got 10x worse and I couldnt even connect to a friend on a different platform without games crashing. Biggest platform fighter money drop ive ever seen, it was actually cool
I forgot to mention the fortnitification of the game. I despise battle passes and think extremely lowly of any game that uses them, and the emphasis on it for just basic skins really rubbed me the wrong way. I much prefer the Nick all star brawl approach to having a skin pack for like 10-20$ to add a skin or two to the cast of characters rather than paying 5$ every season and having to play an aggressive amount to level through it. I enjoy the game less when I feel I HAVE to play a game, and it leads me to playing the game LESS. Just give me a singleplayer and let me parsec with my friends playing for laughs

You completely missed the point of Shaggy. There was a movie where he got hypnotized to be fearless and ended up beating up a gang of bikers. Someone edited the scene to make Shaggy "Ultra Instinct Shaggy," and it became a meme. Now people compare Shaggy to Goku and joke that he's one of the strongest beings in the universe.
Warner Bros. Knows about it and fully embraces the meme.

@@CoreyDavid22 I get what you're saying. In pursuit of the meme, they did kinda turn him into a generic brawler. It would have been cool to have him do more unique moves more in line with the show. Maybe he could hide in a basket for temporary s or fall on his opponent clumsily for a grab move.

They didn't let the SEA playerbase play the game!! It's region locked on steam. They underestimated where the majority of free to play players and potential microtransactioners were at. They fucked up from the very start by not having it be available globally. Like seriously Japan/China/Phillipines players would flock to to this game but NAH, lets do all the european countries, the places with least amount of gamers are at!!

Well thank TH-cam algorithm for recommending this video to me. Another that kinda killed this game is WB's stance on modding. Plenty of people were very excited to mod this game (like there's one mod that replaces Superman with Goku) and the game devs were chill and okay with people modding their games. But the WB execs thought that it would make purchasable skins useless, so they literally bombed all videos and modding related forever and they threw a C&D for it, sometimes threatening to file a lawsuit to one modder who made the game better by balancing the movesets.
Sure I get it. Modding is always bad in the eyes of the company. So why not program a lock or an encryption key to keep purchasable contents locked? Nintendo have that with Smash Bros DLCs by having it inaccessible without downloading it. Sure, the assets are present in every update, but in Smash, there's no way to unlock it illegally through modding without illegally downloading the DLC flags. It's not a single param edit and you got yourself a playable DLC character (it was in Smash 4 but not in Ultimate).
Another is more single player content. A good example is story mode like Subspace from Brawl or a 5 minute maze game like Smash Run from Smash 3DS. Having only local, online, and Training as your options is not enough.

For me, it was clear the moment that this was going to be a fighting game with sub-par mobile free to play properties, that this game wasn't going to last.. Even gameplay wise it felt clunky and shallow.
The there's a roster that wasn't doing it's massive pool of IPs justice. I mean I'm sorry, this is a Warner Brother fighting so who should they add? How about characters from WBs flagship fighting game franchise Mortal Kombat. Scorpion and Sub-Zero can be toned down to work in a Smash clone.
Warner Bros has so many fucking franchises I totally forgot about Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Those characters I feel would be super easy to implement too. Another commenter said that they should add more female characters and I couldn't agree more. But overall I was hyped for the game until I started really playing it and I mean the game is so janky. I want it to be a good game so bad but the entire framework of the game is what really killed it for me. The microtransactions and long loading times didn't help either.

i really disagree with the take on free games with microtransactions. it can be a good thing if they don't go overboard and stuff it down your throat constantly. i don't mind fortnight giving me a battlepass option for cosmetics if I wanna keep playing for free cause that means there is nothing preventing me from playing the best fortnight I can play cause its just cosmetics in the end
diablo 4 on the other hand is one of the worst examples of doing this wrong
I should've clarified I don't absolutely hate free games that use microtransactions. It's how Fortnite makes it money I get it. I haven't played a ton of fortnight so correct me if I'm wrong But Fortnite feels like it only threw in microtransactions as an optional thing but the main goal of the game is for the player base to have fun. What's gaming is all about! Whereas multiversus feels like it was made solely to make money and they couldn't care any less about the quality of the game so they just shove buy "gleamium" down our throats. Wish u actually included info on why the game was how it was especially since it was an open beta & the dev team when it release was like 10 & only 3 were actually coders. But other than that very entertaining & hopefully the game reached ur expectations this year like we all hope also

it's balance and progression system where garbage, who thinks that levels belongs in a platform fighter? and unlocking a character could take months, and most were ass. and matchmaking was determined to lengthen that for free players, as i constantly fought people ten times stronger than me. oh, and characters have classes, but aren't separated by such, meaning there's zero reasoning for it. there's not even that much of a theming with the classes, so why bother? that's the games biggest issue, why would we bother? smash is just that much better, and so are plenty of other smash clones like rivals of aether, this one had nothing to compete with them, and that's why it's dead.
Yeah they launched this game a little too early in my opinion. They have some cool ideas I guess but they hopped in such a competitive space that's is so dominated by smash bros they kinda never really had a chance. Yeah the game was super popular at first but I feel like a good majority of players only downloaded the game because it's free and the fact they wanted that feeling of playing a smash bros game on their PC, Xbox or PlayStation. I appreciate your opinion fam💙
The game is coming back early 2024 with a full budget bigger team and more things that were asked for in beta during the year of beta testing there was less than 20 woolen in studio
I know I'm hyped for it because I truly believe it has something's that smash simply just doesn't offer. I love the class system and even the characters are pretty dope too I was just disappointed when I played for a few months

(Ofc it is, its supposed too), the part where you said "game is bad because WB paid streamers to play it" if that as the case the game wouldn't be sitting at 85% of 95k are positive reviews on steam. (very positive) like i said its just my opinion. really liked the video overall.

My biggest pet peeve in all of these "Why Multiversus Died" videos is the insistence that the game would have been saved if they had added "x character" to the game. It just comes off as redundant and childish. I also think your gameplay take is absolutely wrong, and makes you come off as an extremely biased Smash player. Not every game has to play exactly like Smash.
If you watched the full video you'd see that I didn't just say that it died because of certain characters weren't included. I said the shitty laggy servers and the lack of content were the reason. Also I state that I don't want it to be exactly like smash bros dumbass
Actually watch the video before you criticize
The game had a ton of issues, but the most egregious was how clunky the character mobility feels. Hire any one of the many competitive smash players with 20+ years in the game and they would have pointed all of this out prior to release.
One last thing. I noticed none of the suggested characters were women and the game is already severely lacking. Poison Ivy, Raven (teen titans), and Hawk Girl would all be good choices. But lowkey, I want Rue from Euphoria.
Yooooo if they added raven that would be fucking amazing. I love raven from teen titans.
