I never understood why a company would ever decide to pick sides to a controversial topic. It is almost like saying, how do we cut our customer base in half.
In this instance, "picking sides" means beers distributed to 400 individuals happened to include one person who happened to be transgender.
They thought that it's a good idea which will bring them more money. I'm so glad it turned to be the very oposite.

The real problem here is that companies feel the need to take a position on any of this stuff. Just sell beer. Shut up, and sell beer. When someone asks if your company is inclusive, your answer should be "We have no position on that either way, because it doesn't matter for making beer. We hire based on merit and qualification alone."

As someone who majored in marketing, I could see this coming from a mile away. There’s a reason understanding demographics and how they behave is vital for success. There’s nothing wrong with marketing products to other demographics as that’s the nature of business, but when you do things that rewrite your company’s values and alienate your target audience, then your customers are going to be upset
You don't have to major in marketing to know. Dylan is not core customer. And the core customer is not happy with this grooming of children with this mentally ill crap

I work at a restaurant in the same building as a gas station so I personally know all the gas station workers. Every employee at the station said they had to cancel bud light orders for the past 2 weeks because they aren’t selling at all.

Other beer brands have seen there sales increase by the same amount. This is not a normal "up and down" period. Each week the sales have continued to go down. The boycott is not slowing down, only speeding up. The simple fact is that the majority of americans do not believe that men can dress like a little girl and suddenly become female. The people who claim to believe this only do it because of peer pressure. The same liberal men who pretend to believe this crap would never have a relationship with one of this men pretending to be women. It is jusy virtue signalling. Nah America has excellent beer in every state, but the cheap pilsner culture went mainstream early on and stuck long ago due to mass german immigration, a huge supply of wheat, and a massive demand for affordable beer. You get used to it, which is why it has unfortunately remained ubiquitous.
There's wonderful craft beers all across America, best I've had from across the world. Yuengling is a fine beer itself, so is Shiner.

I could never understand how anyone with functional taste buds could possibly enjoy ANY of their so called beers. I used to drive past their plant in Fairfield, CA in my way to and from work and the foul stench coming from that place was even worse than their beer.

It is my belief that these two executives were paid (probably a fortune) to keep their mouths shut about how far up this decision to endorse Mulvaney actually went. They probably signed nondisclosure agreements, and are set for life! Anheuser Busch has showed their true rainbow colors, and we as consumers should NEVER forget that!

I thought "streamline the marketing" meant a course correction after this incident. The impression I get is that Bud Light was trying to target certain demographics. One demographic they were trying to strengthen their reach is 20-year-olds, and 20-year-olds on the whole are a lot more into LGBT advocacy than older generations. I think some marketing executives were hoping that Mulvaney would reach one very specific segment of 20-year-olds, and didn't expect that it would go viral for all the wrong reasons. Thus, "streamline the marketing" could really just be code for "we're going back to basics and only doing marketing which appeals to every demographic and not target specific ones."

Correction- Budweiser WAS in the business of bringing people together.
Here is a simple marketing strategy. Promote ads based on your largest market demographic. Here is some food for thought for companies. Most men and women are straight. LGBTQ only represents a small portion and I mean very very small portion of the world. Understand your audience.
Bud Light is advertising to a tiny corner of the internet instead of real life consumers. You could call this a big brain moment
It makes absolutely no sense as a brand move. It's like Starbucks suddenly saying "Here to help shed our far-left and progressive image is conservative commentator Alex Jones". Like... did you have to pick something so diametrically opposed to your core audience? Just, why?
You'll know how bad it is in about 100 days, that's when they have to take back their products due to overdate status, that is when it hurts them.
Let's give them 150 days. I expect their product to slow down, but not stop all together. Thus, some of the older beer will be sold. New orders will certainly decrease because it will be piling up in the stores. I can't wait to see 2nd quarter results.

It’s very clear that Bud Light did not understand it’s large consumer base before making drastic changes to their brand. Beer was never meant to be diversified nor promoted itself as such. perhaps they were experiencing a decline either way, but the executives at Bud Light damaged the companies brand and at least someone at Bud Light is getting fired.

I dont know how much this boycott is affecting Canada, but I work in a convenience store in Quebec and Bud Light is still flying off our shelves. The 20 pack box is all sold out. These are mostly older men that buy this brand.
