Skyfall is my favorite of the Daniel Craig James Bond movies and it's in my top five all-time favorite James Bond movies. A few things, Skyfall marks the 50th anniversary of the James Bond movies and there were plenty of Easter eggs and references of the previous James Bond movies, including the return of Q and Miss Moneypenny and the Aston Martin DB5 with gadgets and the end scene with the office that reminds you of the old office from the older James Bond movies from the 60s and 70s. Skyfall was nominated for five Academy awards, winning two of them including best original song. Skyfall was known as the billion dollar Bond movie as Skyfall was the first and only James Bond movie to make over a billion dollars at the box office. Sean Connery was supposed to be in the movie playing kincaid, but it didn't happen. I heard different reasons as to why that was the case, but it would have been really cool seeing Sean Connery make his return to a James Bond movie although playing a different character.

I like how this one takes us to Bond's ancestral home in Scotland. That last stand and M's death marked a turning point in the saga. That and Javier Bardem delivered a memorable performance, equal parts lethal terrorist and amusingly hammy.
