I didn't recognize any of the tracks or any of the participants and was just confronted with “hardgroove” as a style for the first time, and yet, or maybe because of that, I think this is one of, if not the most entertaining format on all of youtube. All thumbs up!

nice! have quite a few of the tracks. Interesting people are confused by the term Hardgroove. I remember the term appearing in the UK in the late 90's, while Tribal Techno was the more common description in Europe. BUUUT by the late 00's there was a new smaller set of DJ's playing fast funky techno they called 'Hardgroove' in Europe. That was kind of a second wave, and we're on the third wave currently. We also called it loop techno sometimes in the early days. Ultimately It's all just techno.

I had never heard of a genre called Hardgroove. I remember well that short-lived period in the beginning of the 2000s, and it was (tribal) techno, and I quickly got fed up, thanks to Force Tracks, Kompakt Records, etc., saving the years 2002-2003 with the minimal house & techno approach. (Never heard that Glenn Wilson track. It is good).
In sum - back in the day it was released no bugger out there (except for maybe Ben Sims apparently) seemingly called it 'Hardgroove'. The title of this vid is a nonsense regardless.
