I like how this animation was still extremely engaging even without combat. That nervous feeling of walking through the remains of a battlefield in a city, checking every roof top and alleyway for enemy ambushes, it really made me feel like the enemy could strike at any moment. Very well done, bravo to the VAs as well.
Thanks man! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I wasn’t really sure what I was going for in the beginning but I’m happy with how it turned out. It started as a script test but after asking some friends, they suggested I should upload it to this channel instead of my alt.
The set design is awesome! And the atmosphere is definitely helped a lot by it. The only issue I have is that the emotional piano music kinda just abruptly halts instead of fading out for when the spartan is being healed.
I'd disagree honestly, I barely even noticed it as it was masked well with the sfx. I wonder what it would've sounded like if it continue until the cut to black, if the decision to cut it off there was better or not, the solemn music ending there because there's no reason to be that solemn anymore, the spartan will be fine. I can see why it could be an issue, assuming for you it stuck out like a sore thumb? but for me I didn't notice it, and when I did, it didn't bother me at all.
Great job here. Voice acting is great and feels natural. Smooth as always. The music you chose does a good job of setting the tone. The scene at 1:36 is particularly nice 👍
This stopmotion is very well rounded. The lighting, animation, dialogue. But the one thing that stood out most was how smooth and natural a lot of the movements looked for the figures. That element is so impressive, and really was nice to see
Everyone's praising the animation (and for good reason) but I wanted to notice the description. You've written a whole little conflict this animation takes place in! That is dedication, especially since not many people read this stuff!
Nice job as always Badlaxe. The sets were fantastic, the lighting is brilliant, the dialogue/voice acting is natural and smooth and the overal use of huds/video recording footage gives me Halo3odst vibes. I also see you used my technique for the hud which I used once. Nice work Edit: also I read the description you put in. I really did notice how you paid attention to the animation and sound design in this one with subtle movements. I also really liked the flashlight on the Eva Spartans head and the extra armour on his wrist area.
Oh my gorsh I have watched this video so many times it’s just Fantastic Like not a lot happens but it’s perfect. The sound effects especially, they are TIGHT and crisp and work for every movement and it’s very realistic. I love the scene with the medic. When he moves his rifle over and takes his backpack off and then patches up the Spartan. It’s perfect and I love the way it flows and feels real. 20/10 man
@@badlaxeanimations3205 hey, I know you don’t usually do stuff like this so I totally get it if it’s too odd, but I was hoping you could watch this little clip I posted of my first mega construx animation. Epic work! That lighting is stellar! Particularly favorite shot was definitely the macro of the soldier looking down his gun into the lights at 1:35 is simply groovy 😎 keep it up!
Badlaxe this was a fantastic stop motion, the lighting is amazing, the hud effect looks awesome, the voice actors you chose ( like me hehehe) were perfect for the roles, music choices were smart, and the small movements you animated are so fluid, and finally the story it's self is just so good. Awesome work dude I'm very proud you're work.
This is absolutely amazing!!! The set design is great and feels really apocalyptic. The lighting and voice acting sound really natural. And the smoothness is absolutely incredible. Congratulations man!
Wow, this was a stunning short film. This is really a beautiful and awesome way of story telling. The characters, with what little presence they had on the screen, managed to encapsulate their personality with only a few lines. The cinematography was gorgeous, the lighting was very on par with the atmosphere and music, just adding a coherence throughout this film. The character designs were also cool, love what you did with the flame marine helmet, nice touch. All in all, this was very enjoyable to watch and am glad you made another brilliant film. I only hope for more, keep up the fantastic work.
I turned off all the lights in my room with the exception of some Christmas lights I hid around the set and a blue desk light I had pointed at the ceiling. The desk light lit up most of the room in a soft blue. The desk light also came with colored lenses which was helpful.
Amazing animation! How did you do the spartan visor, with the first person view? At 0:38 It came out great, and I would like to do something similar in my animations!
The marines were from two Halo UNSC Marine Defense packs a d the SPI armor is a custom made with a Flamethrower marine from the Marine Customizer pack and Halo 2 marines I got off eBay (for the chest plate and shoulder pads) I can’t remember where I got the forearms from but I want to say it was from the Aerial Ambush flamethrower marine
I usually turn all of my lights off with the exception of a blue lamp light that’s connected to a tripod that sits off to the side on my set. Secondly I use Christmas tree lights and scatter them in the background and around the set. Finally sometimes I’ll mess with the shutter speed and light balance to get a good nighttime feel.

Idk, but I love the SPI armor
I want to see this become a series SOOOO bad
But if I REALLY had to choose, continue sparks of war

i love the thing where you did the POV inside of the spartans helmet 👍 🔥
The spartans eyes at the eye were kinda anime like but that doesn’t change the fact that this is awesome
Great job here. Voice acting is great and feels natural. Smooth as always. The music you chose does a good job of setting the tone. The scene at 1:36 is particularly nice 👍
Very cool! The atmosphere is great. I also like the detail that he asks for heavy lift gear (like Johnson did at the beginning of halo 3)

I like the SPI armor
I’m glad someone caught that it’s SPI, I’ve always loved the armor and wish it had more prevalence in Halo. :)
DANG BADLAXE THE MAJOR IMPROVEMENT ON THE ANIMATION 1:06 that part was very smooth
Damn that's one of your best! Personally, my favourite part was the lighting, as it had an Halo 3 ODST feel. Great work

Man idk why but at 1:08 just that motion of placing the bag down was great
Love the custom figures “Koda” looks awesome
The voice acting is amazing the music is amazing and the fluent movement is the best well done
How do I miss these. Amazing. Simply amazing. I love your halo work they feel accurate to the universe and simply real.
Not all halo stop motions need long time and action to be good this one is a prime example, nice job
There are no words to describe how much I loved this. Keep it up
Amazing work man. Atmosphere, setting, set design, and of course the sound design was perfect. Super cinematic. Awesome job my friend!

If you animate on stop motion studio how did you take the filters and like change them

Amazing work as always. How many FPS did you animate with on this video?
15 fps
Yep, dank is correct. I animated this at 15 fps
😳
Did you bump up the fps for this one because this way smoother then usual.
This is still 15 FPS. This started out as a test video so I focused on smoothing out the finer movements
All ease in and out 😂
Is that why you changed the name from Spartan Evans to Ava on the CQC animation?
Yeah, I wanted to incorporate that video into this small series
Nice
