I'm not surprised by these results at all. I've had 8 Xiaomi phones in the past 3 years and MIUI is the most bastardized version of Android I've ever used. My favorites were the Mi A2 and Mi A3, but the others I find pretty hard to use without a custom rom.

Greetings from Taiwan, it's odd that the Redmi Note 10 5G has better video recording stabilization than Realme 8 5G, for the former doesn't mention EIS while the latter does in the spec sheet.
Surprised by the cameras. The realme was a lot better in photos and although the video stabilisation was worse the dynamic range was much better. Still personally think it's worth spending a bit more and getting something like a Redmi note 10 pro or Redmi note 9 pro 5g/Mi 10i 5g or Realme q3pro or iqoo z3 or honor x10 or Oppo k7/k9 depending on which region you're based in.

you are right about the wifi internet speed. if i am far away from our router (2 rooms away from my room) 5g and 2g wifi speed is really slow. I need to go near the router or go to my brother's room (next to my room) to get a good wifi speed. That's my only downside from my phone realme 8 5g. The rest is excellent (also got an update that improves camera quality from rear camera and data network speed) You are really a great reviewer. From now on, i will always rely to your review. i think xiaomi teams that works on softwares on mediatek phones don't do alot of job to optimise these phones and do poorly in that regard comparing to many other qualcomm models,we see more of this trend these years.
I still choose the Redminote 10 5G because they always give updates, which makes them more optimised for future use, unlike the realme they dont care about their products they dont even give updates, even with their midrange phones (stack version) as we call

Xiaomi is so bad, I have the Redmi Note 8T which is more expensive than the Realme 5G (it's on sale rn) and the Redmi Note 8T is really slow and kind of unuseable, I will never go for Xiaomi every again, I only got Xiaomi because a friend recommended it but it was a bad choice!

I have also noticed that Xiaomi phones seem to be slow and my 8T only gets updated once every 3 months and the updates take a long time to come and are often delayed (the updated are also only for security patches and don't actually improve the performance of the phone) which sucks! I won't go with them every again, I will probably get the RealMe, hopefully I have a better experience with them, I really like the 90Hz screen feature and also the 'Ram Extension' feature that allows you to use storage space as extra ram. Redmi's price is on budget phone, and the EIS it's so good for me.
They're pretty much at the same price, Php 11,990 for the realme and Php 11,490 for the 8gb variant of the xiaomi.
