    Wonderful talk Iris. Really shows where your heart is: both the love of animals and the love of people. Along with what we can learn from each other.

    It was very interesting to hear how my energy can impact my dogs’s behavior and vice versa. It was a great talk and I was especially moved by Shelby’s story. Dogs live in the present. What a great reminder for all of us. Thank you, Iris Grimm! 😊

      Thank you, Elke. Shelby was an inspiration in so many ways, and she showed us all that our past doesn't define our present and future.

    I found this presentation informative and inspirational. I live in a neighborhood where many households have a dog as a family member. It has been a awesome adventure for me on my walks in the neighborhood. I learned the dog's name before I got to know the adult's name walking the dog. With time, the dog and I became friends and always had an interaction each time we met on our walks.
    From listening to the talk given by Iris my understanding and awareness of what I sensed from my dog encounters became validated. I resonate with Iris' beliefs about the value and gifts of truly relating with a dog,

      Judy, thank you for your heartfelt story and truth. Dogs bond neighbors. They help us put our guards down. Since I walk my dogs daily, most of my neighbors know me.

    As a dog trainer and animal lover, I have told people how our energy to totally felt throught your dog. It is so awesome to hear Iris' accounts of how this actually works. Dog's really love boundaries, and each dog has a "job". It is our repsonsibility to find that dog's passion and learn from them too. Teaching a puppy or a new rescue their boundaries in your home is very important for everyone's sanity. There is no greater love than a dogs'! Learn from them, learn to speak dog! If we could talk to the animals...we can it takes patience and listening!
    Iris, it was great talking to you on our 1-2-1 and your Ted talk was phenomenal! I could listen to you talk for hours!!

    • @IrisGrimm
      @IrisGrimm ปีที่แล้ว

      Judy, you are so right. When dogs have boundaries and when we give them a job, they are happier in their demeanor and in their behavior. Having a well-behaved and happy dog is not difficult; but it requires intention, discipline, and kindness.

    Vielen Dank für den tollen Vortrag. Darin kann man erkennen, welche Liebe und Fürsorge Iris für ihre Hunde und für die Hunde ihrer Kunden entgegen bringt. Und was die Hunde zurückgeben an Vertrauen und Liebe. Sie können auch die eigene Verfassung wider spiegeln. Wir hatten Pferde, da konnten wir diese Erfahrung machen.

    I met Iris Grimm years ago at a Pet CPR/First-aid certification class. Since that day, Iris and I have had a strong connection because of dogs. I always refer my clients, with newly adopted shelter dogs, to her for help with training. Likewise, she always refers people, who need a pet sitter or dog walker, to me.
    Recently, I began my studies to become a certified dog trainer. Iris has been my inspiration and role model. And when I get to the hands-on level of my studies, I want to shadow this amazingly gifted dog trainer, my friend Iris!
    I encourage everyone to watch this video all the way through (only 17 mins). It's worth your time! Thank you, Iris!

      Thank you, Andi. I am humbled by your kind words. And I am excited for you that you are on the path of becoming a dog trainer. What I love about working with dogs is that they teach us more about life and leadership than we can teach them. I look forward to hearing more about your dog training journey.

    Wow, this is wonderful! I've learned so much from TEDx talks, but how great to have a talk that incorporates animals and animal welfare to help us become better leaders, role models and humans. It's true, we can learn so much from dogs and all animals. Iris Grimm is an inspiration for anyone in the shelter system, veterinary channel, pet professional industry or any individual simply trying to maximize the experience and life of a dog at home. Well done!

      My pleasure, Mo. When I started training dogs, I was already a leadership coach. And when I listened to dog owners' stories, they reminded me in many ways of the conversation I had with my coaching clients. It just took me a while to create an approach to merge them.

    Great talk Iris! Love your message and passion! We can all learn something from dogs and all animals, we need to be patient with them. It breaks my heart that there are so many dogs/cats in shelters. My girl Fräulein Maria now is a rescue, I might have rescued my Fräulein Maria, from a kill shelter, but she ended up rescuing me. We are a team. Best wishes with your endeavors!

      Oh, Fräulein Maria - what a cute name. Is she German? I am so happy that she and you are a team. There is something special about shelter dogs. As weird as it sounds, they sense that they were rescued and they are so grateful. Thank you, Carrie, for sharing your story.

      @@IrisGrimm You are welcome and yes, she is part German Shepherd and part Corgi and probably more breeds, big body short legs. She is one of the best dogs I have had all my life. I grew up with dogs, mostly German Shepherds. Then another shelter dog which was a husky/wolf. But my girl now, is at another level.

    Very inspirational and educational. As humans we need to be more intuitive. Our dogs certainly sensed our moods and sadness. Thank you Iris for explaining this at a deeper level.

    • @IrisGrimm
      @IrisGrimm ปีที่แล้ว

      Karen, I loved that you brought up intuition. Yes, being with our dogs and understanding their needs requires a deeper level of intuition. And when we have it with our dogs, we can also be more in tune with it in all other areas of our lives. And that is where our deeper wisdom resides.
