Girl, I’ve got a theory about the green… I’m thinking that he represents the “no fear” aspect of Insanity. I’ve gone through the videos with the green and took notes on what he did in them, and it shows that he’s the helper and kind of feeds insanity with the “fearlessness” he drives off of. He’s not coming across as being a being but an emotion aka fearless? Ian had mentioned that he was spontaneous and fearless so… I don’t know but I got really excited with that theory. My brain has been showered with the freaking genius this man is. I can’t put into words the emotions he evokes… but like you, I was brought to tears for all the creativity he brought to life. Just 🤯

Stop at 3:38 in the video and there is a huge ass dragon in shadow figure that can be seen with the flashes of lightning… AWESOME! You have to watch it carefully, I missed it several times but it’s right next to Mito, the dragon’s neck… and then the 2nd one is below it… let me know what you think!

So I'm reading through the comments and I'm totally with the Batman/Joker plus Wizard of Oz vibes. Since No Blueberries, I've always seen Mito as the Protector alter. He's the one who fully faced the Blueberry Monster in No Blueberries, the one who stopped the manic trip down memory lane in Peanut Butter and Tears because the van scene might have taken Ian to somewhere Mito thought he didn't need to go. That's the moment when (adult) Ian woke up. I need to bring up the van because in the 1 Shot part of the Official Mito Movie part 1, Ian gets kidnapped and then in Mood he's having an episode where one of the voices say "He's just been kidnapped" So we know what happened during 1 Shot was a 'dangerous situation'. When a manic high takes over, the person can possibly become fearless and ignore danger. So because Mr. Insanity had taken over memories of Ian's childhood (according to the storyline being portrayed), the 'van' just seems like something harmless with Ian or Insanity willingly closing the van door. And this makes me think that Mito is sick and tired of Mr. Insanity's b.s because he knows if he doesn't stop him, everything will just go haywire especially since Mito is trying to protect Ian's memories from him while Mr. Insanity just wants to do whatever he wants. The Other Side could represent Ian's subconscious. In the mv, Mr. Insanity looks like he just wants to rob a bank but it's the Bank of the Other Side which can allude to keeping safe valuable things (which to me, is the key that will be used to unlock the door to Ian's repressed memories). Mr. Insanity wants to do what he wants without consequences while Mito has to remind him that he (Mito) is that consequence. It also shows the way people can go through their manic highs and manic lows. Just to add - when Mr. Insanity got the key, that got me way more worried that Mito trying to k*ll him (storyline wise however I totally agree that they are a real part of Ian's life because they are his alters). And here I'll shift out of the storyline perspective and get into DID for a bit. This isn't about Ian directly but more about anyone who has DID. From what I understand, if repressed memories due to trauma are unlocked without safety measures (e.g. a therapy session in obviously an environment where they feel safe), it's going to do more harm than good.
This music video for me is like if you used a paintbrush and sliced Christian's brain in half. Coincidentally, I think that both Mr. Insanity and MITO are fighting for full control over his mind.
I watched this by myself and thought of the whole batman/ Joker dynamic, but after watching this reaction, i see the MV more clearly now. I understand the REAL of what's going on in the MV
I loved this MV and it's so cerebral. It was giving a mix of like the old school Adam West Batman mixed with Mad Max/Sin City dystopian vibes. I agree with your Batman analogies and I will have to check out that deep dive with Carlos. Christian is a genius and I'm so glad that he is comfortable in expressing his thoughts and feelings with us fellow Dreamers. ❤

I’ve never seen Batman that you’re talking about (I’m 19😅) but I immediately thought of The Mask bc of the editing and the acting. I know that the correlation isn’t really there beside the green screen guy in the orange/yellow suit but it was the vibe it was giving me
Hi Anitra! You can actually see how the explosion happened at the beginning of the MV before they get to the "30 days earlier part"! My mind was honestly just like this 🤯 for this entire MV. It really gave me some strong Batman vibes even if I haven't watched any movies or anything 😅. A friend of mine also said it gave them Mad Max vibes. Also, I really am not the best with lore and storylines, but I do believe that it is Mr. Insanity too. He gave me strong joker vibes in this MV so it just felt very fitting.
What's funny or not really is that Mito and Mr. Insanity don't like each other in real life when Mito comes out he talks shit about Insanity and vice versa😔
