Thank you for this it worked fantastic! The only modification I plan to make is to cap the open ends...I caught a lot of honey in there when I spun them.
Built as you showed was easy and straightforward thank you, however where the pvc spins in the hole at the bottom of the bucket mine started melting. You happen to ever have that happen?
No, I never ran it very fast, and once you get honey flying around everywhere, that will lube that surface. Go slow on the first few until you get a thin layer of honey at the bottom.
I did use pvc cement. I've always used the one step medium strength stuff, it is clear. I see the ones with orange or purple primer. No clue if I am missing something, but I've never had a plumbing joint fail.
Thank you so much for the detailed information on your blog page. The pictures really helped me to reassure that I had all the right parts.
Glad I could help, now go forth and backyard beekeep!

You are awesome! Great idea, major detailed information, your willingness to share is appreciated thank you!
Friggin' awesome! I had to make some minor changes to accommodate my frames (mine were slightly thicker) but it worked great for me

interesting - did you not use solvent for attaching the pvc? they look way too nice and non-purple :)
