Okay, i just have to thank you sweetnlumpy, you made the youtube video i wish more people would make. You did it perfect. Everyone else, if you want to make a video of your car's idle, use this as a template. No obnoxious revving, no waiting 3-minutes for the choke to kick off, no staring at the motor for 5-minutes before walking to the back and hearing the exhaust for 15 seconds. You hear it from the perfect angle as it idles at normal operating temp for long enough to get to know it thoroughly
thata music to my ears for sure thats exactly the way i would want my 70 challenger, real T/As are expensive but i wouldnt mind a clone, awesome! i got a 72 charger wit a 440
Yeah, the street ones were 340s while the race-prepped ones had 305s. Also one fun fact a lot of people dont know is an aluminum dual-4bbl intake was available on first gen Z/28s. As for Ford? Well, i'll admit the Boss 302 is one of the best looking muscle cars ever (dont start with the Pony car crap its like Glam Rock, its still a sub-genre of the general genre, ie: Rock or Muscle Cars) but anyone who's owned or driven both will tell you the Z/28 had it over the Boss all day. Now the T/A idk...
Ah, Kenneth is right, it was 303. I was mistaking that for the displacement limit in the Trans Am series which was 305. Pontiac also had a 303 but it didn't do well at all
No. Other Challenger models Yes.The 1970 T/A Challenger only came as you see them, with a 340 six-pack motor which had a solid lifter cam and four-bolt main. They were designed after cars of that era that ran at NASCAR. The regular 340 did not have a four-bolt main. You could get nearly any motor in the R/T Challenger however, 340, 383, 440 or 426. The same applies to the 1970 AAR Cuda which only came with the 340 six-pack motor.
here's what I don't get, there's the Ford Mustang which had the 281-CID & then the 302-CID V8's, and then the Chevy Camaro Z28 & I know the reason for the Z28 to even exist at all, was to compete in SCCA Trans-Am Series. The engine requirements to race in SCCA Trans-Am Series was limited to 305-CI & here's Chrysler's Answer (with the T/A, Trans-Am TRIM) & it's got a motor that's 35-Cubic Inches bigger (and the 6-Pack, which, for those who don't know, is 3 2-BBL Carbs to make 6-BBL total...)
You can get a 70 Challenger R/T with a 440 sixpack but not a T/A besides theyre so damned expensive and rare (like 1500 ever produced) that you would spend an arm and leg to get one.
nobody you know better not put down dodge, because you will have to hunt them down with this sexy beast then run their ass down with the ram in the background.
LOL! This just reinforces what I said is true. Instead of a really lame personal insult, you could have put your money where your mouth is. But it's obvious you can't do that.
This sound could totally put me to sleep at night. :D Pure awesome!
I would love to know the details of this build. Sounds amazing.
i just love the sound of it idling...awesome...music to my ears!!!...sounds like popcorn popping!!!

Awesome T/A! Sounds sweet!
@allaboutdisplacement The stock lime paint for 70's mopars name was Sub-lime. I don't know if this one's a bit different, though.
I think I'm in love.
Wow, very nice, I have a t/a style hood on my 2010
sweet serenading.
goddamn one lucky man
Its amazing music!!! i love it!
Beautiful. What cam is this? Sounds great!
i wish it would go down in the us so we can keep our muscle cars in the us and not ship them over seas
if you read up on what mopar had done, they actually had a 303 CiD for the SCCA
I love your car haha
Very nice! What's the exhaust & Camshaft setup?
Love the factory-correct side exhaust. Stick a tag on that puppy and go out and light up the rear tires.

The AAR Cudas and T/A Challengers the actually competed were destroked to 305ci to meet the competition rules
here is something funny that street version only made 295hp but the race versions with same engine made 500+
Dodge rated them at 290hp for insurance reasons but they actually made between 320-330 hp.
@SamAlexLewis Eight, and it uses 'em all!

Mine is a 74 hemi orange with a 70 t/a 340 six pack.
Are you running the original exhaust?
Hello - I also have a T/A Go Mango in color. What mufflers are you using?
You can get a 70 Challenger R/T with a 440 sixpack but not a T/A besides theyre so damned expensive and rare (like 1500 ever produced) that you would spend an arm and leg to get one.
Boredout454 Yeah that is true..but i got T/A from 1973 great car but sadly only 2400 were built..
how much power does that beast have?
What cam is it?
horsepower???
Sounds like a Dodge ... like its about ready to croke and die.
nobody you know better not put down dodge, because you will have to hunt them down with this sexy beast then run their ass down with the ram in the background.
SCCA ftw
Fucken Beast!
