Helpful. I couldn't find any explanation on the website, but this video explains it perfectly. You might add that, yes, the feet only go on one side - presumably because the fan will try to blow it over in that direction when turned on.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! JUST PURCHASED ONE YESTERDAY. HAD NO CLUE ABOUT THE 2 FEET CONNECTED TOGETHER. I THOUGHT MAYBE THEY HAD FORGOT ONE OF THE FEET. THEN, I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE I ONLY USE ONE, COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO ATTACH IT. THEN, WHEN I SAW ANOTHER VIDEO, IT WAS AWFUL!!!! MAN JUST READ EVERYTHING ON THE FRONT, BACK, & SIDES OF THE DAMN BOX. EVEN TALKED ABOUT THE 3 SPEEDS, LIKE WE CAN'T FIGURE OUT HIGH, MED, OR LOW. YOUR VIDEO COVERED EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO KNOW. YOU DID NOT WASTE MY TIME WITH NEEDLESS TALK, TALK, TALK...😊😊 😊😊😊
Those Lasko plastic feet are horrible. They fall or slip out of the groove in the box fan quite often, not to mention they easily break. Why they couldn't put fixed, stabilized feet on the bottom of the fan is beyond me.
Omg I couldn’t figure out what to do with these things until I watch this video. I actually broke a fan by turning it on and it fell backwards. I’m glad I looked this up on TH-cam, because the instructions in the box are not very well made.
Depends on the quality of the feet. if the feet are softer it may be easier to remove, but if its more rigid, it may grip harder onto the box fan frame. This is just from my experience.
Why do I need to put these feet on? I dont understand seems stable to me without it..says on instructions do not operate with feet missing.. I need to know why please
I just need Lasko replacement feet not a new fan. I went to the Lasko web site and clicked feet but they were not these feet for box fans> I don't know what they were. Seems impossible to find Lasko Box Fan replacement feet. This may be designed to break off to create a need to purchase a new fan.
They do sell the replacement feet. I just received a set in the mail for $2.50 plus $2.00 shipping. I ordered them through the Lasko website, although they did take some time answering me. They aren't shown on the site; you have to send them a message by email.
Colleen Frye It figures they don’t advertise it on their website jerks. TH-cam is becoming more and more difficult to watch all the stupid commercials thanks for letting me know about the fan feet that you have to email the company for because they don’t have it on their website...
I laughed so hard watching this video they're trying to explain to me things that are so simplistic to understand it's like eating a hot dog it's so simplistic God help me
Yeah but on mine the feet do no go all the way in, I mean, they go all the way they physically can but do not reach those marks at the bottom, it seems like a design flaw, maybe a batch they send to a third world country in which people are not as demanding in the quality department as usdarnians...
@ 1st I 🤔 thought my daughter was trying 2 make fun of me (Tanisha 34) she wasn't..... She sent me this video. I asked my son 2 help me (Talvin age 20) he tried for 10 seconds & said he couldn't do it 🙄(he was playing his video game when I asked him)... Guess what 😁 thanks 2 this video my fan is not falling over anymore.... I did it ALL by myself 😄😅
Simple solution: buy a 1990s 1980s Lasko (Galaxy, GE, Sears, Eastern electric, Brentwood, Super, White Westinghouse, Air King, etc.) or Lakewood (Kmart, Windmere, Comfort Edge, JC Penney, Dayton, etc.) box fans such as model 3713 (Lasko 4713) 3723 (Galaxy 4723) 3733, p223 (Kmart k223), 223, 200i model with shaded six pole motor (even the 1970s and older fans are available if exist like the s223 p23 s23 k23) and other brands from McGraw Edison (Eskimo, Manning Bowman, Toastmaster, etc.) General Electric, Holmes (Robeson), Superelectric and more.
The fans are great. The feet are a stupid design and always, always break. I screwed the metal frame to a flat piece of plywood. Problem solved. Not even my dog can't tip it over now.
These break constantly, make some god damn feet that actually last more than two years. I've bought about ten of these now and every single fucking foot is broken.
@@bryanwooden9245 I did not. However, I'm thinking that I could modify a zinc-plated steel flat bracket to slide into the holes left by the broken feet and then drill a couple of holes in the fan frame. Use a small nut and bolt to connect the new "feet" to the fan frame. Only problem is that the parts could cost as much as a new fan.
Best answer is...don't buy a Lasko. Bought one. Wobbled so badly out of the box that it literally almost "walked" off the table. Also had a crack in the grill. They sent me a replacement. Had a HUGE crack in the grill right at a screw so it will peel right off soon, and this one wobbled up and down that is looked like that old video of first attempts at flying machines where the one "shook" its wings up and down. I realize that aside from it just being a low end brand, their packaging is absurd. NO packaging at all. Just a thin cardboard box that barely fits around the fan itself. So even the slightest bump[p in shipping, be it FedEx or on the truck to the various stores, and it will crack the grill (the grills are VERY brittle these days. Used to be much softer plastic that could take some impact), and potentially create a motor imbalance. And no...adding the feet will not fix that. The feet made my imbalance much worse. Actually almost caused it to tip over rather than prevented it.
Great. Threw these out as soon as I opened the box, thought it was a packaging spacer or some other junk plastic.
Same. Good think it wasn't dumped, loool.

The feet broke when fan was upright. Why make cheap plastic feet? Where do I find metal ones?
This video is so confusing! I need additional steps, how does one open a box?

the plastic feet fall off all the time. lasko should put some thought into this and devise a way to keep them in place.
Lasko products have drastically gone downhill. i no longer buy them.
I’m dumb so this helped
me too! haha
yep me 2 but the person who designed those feet ain't much smarter

Thanks. This is why I love TH-cam.
Great and easy tutorial. Thank you
how about feet that are more stable and don't break as much?
Thank this was the only video I actually found because I had no idea what the plastic piece was called 🤣
Woo hoo. Even having central air conditioning, the white noise is appreciated and one of my cat loves to sleep behind the van. Yes she's weird

Here's how to remove the already installed feet.
Wiggle a foot back and forth and lift it slightly to disengage the foot from the frame.
All I do is lift up the fan and the feet fall right off.. lol
Yay! This works! Thanks!
(edited) Well, it worked for 1 ... but I can't get the other off ... making storing it away for the winter cumbersome 😥

Thank you! I just bought this fan today and the instructions only said pull apart and didn’t going to detail.
This would probably work better if any of the slots lined up on my fan 😂 I guess that’s what I get for going with a $20 model!
Very helpful ! Thanks
How do you take them off???
HOW DO I MAKE IT SPIN
Is it just mine or does yours move around also?
Wow this BLEW me away.
Would be great if they didn’t wedge the feet under the handle when in the box. I had to pull them out and it already scraped the heck out of the fan.

How do you remove them so they don’t get broken when moving / storing fan?
My husband unscrewed the screen and took them out that way.
Wiggle them out, it's takes some time.
Moving / storing?? These things break if you look at them wrong.
@@EricTheRea Not to mention that the fan blades have gotten so narrow that they barely move any air.

Why is this popping up on, “how to remove the feet from a box fan?”
For the same reason it popped up on "how to fabricate new feet on a box fan". :-( (Because Lasko used "box fan" as one of their key phrases.)
Or you know. You guys could just design a better damm fan so its not so easy to tip.
