@@jasonlovesmusicreacting882 i feel like trying not to sing to Assault & Batteries would be much harder than trying not to sing to Funeral Derangements
Man last year's was soooo difficult! But this year?? Arguably the best year we've had in metal in quite some time? Might be damn near impossible. Can't wait to try this while physically enduring pain by doing nothing
@@RiggedFem I agree,I really liked it when it came out but now I’ve just heard it way too much, also yeah 6 might also be my favorite breakdown of the year.
Some good clips here but I actually found 2020’s more difficult. There was more I had not heard of here which probably made it not aschallenging. But I did find new music so I appreciate that! Good work brother!
I was able to pass the challenge, but I lost a part of me in the process. Now it's time to watch it again and headbang from start to finish so I can get it back ;)
Stonefaced the whole thing my man. Lost in a wave might have gotten me if it was in there :P 2021 was a blessed year for metal. Amazing tracks, albums and EPs came out that were beyond all expectations. Really hope i can see my favorite from this year live, already got the ticket for LANDMVRKS and i hope to god it works out somehow. Have a blessed rest of the year, always keep that chin up and do you my man, thanks for all the contenct and showing me bands i never heared before! Greetings from Germany!
Barely passed due to Pulling Teeth with a smooth transition to To the hellfire. Tbh i expected it to be a lot harder cuz there are so many songs that i have banged my brains out to and i haven't seen them. Missed Orbit Culture and Brand of Sacrifice, can't sit still listening to those.
as much as i enjoyed it, the copyright on this video must have been SUPER HIGH. everybody should take their time to think about how creaters such as bogdan struggle with copyright. everybody should help support bogdan. other than that, keep up the good work bogdan, it was too hard to survive the video!
Eh, I made peace with the fact that TH-cam is always claimed and someone else makes money off of it. I am very lucky to have an amazing Patreon community that helps me with the channel in ways I could never imagine. But monetary support is not the only one I'm looking for, reading comments like yours is worth a lot more than $$, so thank you!
It's actually pretty damn easy to not headbang to stuff with weird time signatures if you've never heard them before. This challenge increases in difficulty the more times you watch it.
The transitions became smoother, Bogdan, and I love that. I appreciate that Bogdan 2017 evolved to this version of Bogdan (and yeah, problems of the future Bogdan are not the problems of the present Bogdan, ehehehe). Aaaand I went through the challenge without any problems. Bloody love ya, man. Happy Holidays, everyone!
It was okay! I will say though, some parts of a song such as the chorus or even a verse can induce some windmills better than just the breakdowns. The chorus of Yellowjacket by Spiritbox gets me every time.
Man great job!! Don Broco catches me off guard every damn time. That's one of the toughest breakdowns in this video, from probably the most eclectic band. On another note - "Remnant" from Erra. I'm a bit surprised to see that rather than the "House of Glass" breakdown, or literally anything from "Scorpion Hymn." Excellent video regardless. I lost as soon as I hit play.
Curse you my guy!!! I had no idea when I clicked this, I had already watched someone do a reaction challenge. and I lost watching them.... yepp these songs are so perfectly put together... it was an 8 min straight neck breaking action!!! And I watched it twice in a row!! Great job bro!!
I just don't feel it with any of these. A LOT of them feel the same, too slow. It's possible to have raw power that just doesn't make for headbanging. EDIT - 6:19 is better. It's the drums that's the key.
It got difficult for me at Funeral Derangements. Lost at Pulling Teeth. If Take Your Pick replaced Funeral Derangements I was done for. If Termination was the TDWP song I woulda lost there
I always do this challenge on the bus. I listen to music through headphones, and especially when the faster songs come on, like Dyers Eve, the last part of One, Fight Fire With Fire and especially Fuel, I'm fighting the urge with all the fight I've left within me. I don't want to embarrass myself.
I'm so glad 'Say no Word' was in here. I feel like that song hasn't gotten enough love off of the new Landmvrks album. Definitely my favorite song on the album no doubt.
I don't know if it's still worth sharing an opinion after almost two weeks, but nevertheless. I think the idea of headbanging only to the breakdowns has kind of outlived itself. Yes, the breakdown is the most heavy part of a song, but unless it has some groove or even ambience to it, it's destined to fail. The perfect example, at least for me, would be the breakdown from the Lorna Shore song. It's a strong and raw sounding, but it has no soul and any rythm to shake your head to. I really do think that putting choruses (Bad Omens - Artificial Suicide) or even "small" breakdowns (Wage War - High Horse after the 1st chorus or even further, but the whole song is a constant breakdown) would bring more colours to the whole challenge, thus making it harder to sit through. The editing in this challenge is top notch, hands down. Elements of suprise really play a big role to catch you off-guard, which is always nice, because it woudn't have been a challenge without minor, but really important pieces to hit your nerves at the worst possible time. I really don't know if it's just me (though I saw other people saying the challenge was weirdly easy), but coming from a more melodic part of musical taste containing a handful of genres, I think it was a really good challenge, but it kinda fell due to it being simple and monotonous for the most part. Anyway, I really hope I won't start a war here, because that's just my opinion, which I thought I'd share. I really love your work, Bogdan, and wish you the best in this year.
Hey man, you really made me suffer on this one. Probably the hardest try not to headbang challenge I have seen/listened to. I broke at Funeral Derangements, straight HEAT! thanks for a great 2021

First of all...Nice video editing and nice choice of tracks. Second I passed, but it was even harder then the 2020 edition. Spiritbox,Wage War, Whitechapel are the ones, that nearly got me....Thanks for the challenge...

Jeez that was the most painful without actually being painful thing I’ve done. The Pulling Teeth to To the Hellfire was one of the best transitions I’ve ever heard and this was so much harder than any other try not to headband I’ve ever viewed this was amazing
I almost lost at Death Roll, not gonna lie. I’ve grown so used to head banging to that song, it’s nearly a natural instinct to lose my shit at that breakdown. Good video, though, but I have to say 2020 was so harder. Still, you crush these videos. Keep them coming
Made it through this one a lot easier than last year's. That one was so difficult. This one wasn't too bad due to the strange time signatures (as someone else pointed out) that you can't easily pick up on and immediately lose yourself in. Still a bunch of good tunes. Metalcore this year:
You should do a try not to sing along version of this with catchy choruses. Good examples would be In the night by Phinehas, The Blade by Sion
thats actually a good idea
in the night would be impossible
Crown The Empire - In Another Life or Ice Nine Kills - Funeral Derangements
And pretty much any song from the new Rise Against album.

Starting a "Try Not To Headbang Challenge" with Bleed From Within should be illegal lol😂
That was without a doubt the best one. Open note breakdowns don't get it done. Riffs with a groove make it a true challenge

Surprised there's no Impermanence breakdown, such a smack, also no STP and Beartooth, well thats just made it easier for me to pass
