I may be an outlier in this regard, but I found the Superior 6 to fit bigger than the Superior 5 (and other Altras) and I had to get a half size smaller. I also love wearing the Superiors for long distances - all around amazing shoe!
Good to have a look at the new models, thanks! Surprisingly I never got along with the Superior 5. When I want a nice minimalistic running experience I just go for my FiveFingers and otherwise stay with the trusty LP when I need some ground protection and stability for messier trails. I've twisted my ankles a few times in larger stack Hokas, and feel much more secure in the LP in that regard. As for the midsole feeling a bit flat, I personally don't really think about it when running at an ultra-pace. A bit sad to see they seem to have reduced the toe protection on the 7 😥
Great side by side review Sir. I like the fit of the Superiors but I really wish they would increase the lug height and find a grippier compound. If the rocks are wet I have to revert to my old Inov-8s due to the better traction they provide. The Altras seem best for dry trails.
I went from a superior 5 to a lone peak 7. Superior 5 was wider at the front. I like the LP7 cushioning and tread pattern doesn't clogg with mud as much as the superior 5.
the Lone Peak 7 and 8 have surprisingly bad fit - they ruined them after the LP 6. I still like Altra a lot but won't be looking at Lone Peaks unless they completely redesign the fit
The superior fit my feet well because of my duck like feet (slim at the heel and very wide in the front). The torin 6 and 7 don’t fit me anymore and luckily found another pair of torin 5. So they definitely narrowed down the torins which was my favorite shoe😢 Do you know any other altra that has a fit like superior? 21mm stack height is a bit uncomfortable after longer runs.
The thing that absolutely annoyed me with the lone peak 5 and 6 was that after 50 miles the midsole felt flat and dull does the lone peak 7 suffer the same fate?

Thanks!
🔥review as always.
Appreciate that!
So was the superior wider or not in the toe box?
Best Altra shoe for grip on Winter roads?
I'd say Olympus, thanks to the Vibram Megagrip. The Maxtrac on the LP7 and Superior 6 is ok, but nothing beats Vibram imho.

The closest one would be the Timp. Similar fit with more cushion. 👍 I also can't do 21mm for longer runs.
They call it black but its...green? I cant even tell
Yeah, it's super dark green 😅

I must admit that I don't feel any improvement to the ego midsole compared to previous versions 💩
Can you comment on midsole longevity Superior 6 eva? vs Lonepeak 7 ego?
Most interesting I found that the heel part collapsed giving me the feeling the front part of my foot was way higher than my heel
