I have to admit, when I started watching the video, I was like why the heck are they digging so deep for the foundation but after seeing how high this thing is, I can understand. Great job guys, you are true professionals who take pride in their craft.

My Dad was a bricklayer but he has now retired. He trained in Germany so he was very skilled and I used to work with him when I was younger. He would piss me off because he would go that extra mile every time and I have to say, out of all the videos I have watched, these guys are true professionals.

They’ve created a concert slab that just butts against the existing brickwork in the external log store bit and it’s above the damp proof course. Also, that chimney appears to be simply leaning against the house and no brick ties that I could see?
