I mean not to be a hater but you can just pick a decent tactic and win the league and maybe even a treble first season. Like United are really good on the game, as always. No rebuild required
@@hj-hv6rt It was reasonably negative. But my goal is to make a fun series, and I think this will be, also.... I'm not playing Ronaldo at striker, which I think's interesting!
Decent business, I couldn't get £15m for Fred even with a 50% wage contribution lmao. I will say I think Kessie would be a better choice than Kondogbia. He's younger, cheaper and better.

A new series! Do It Better returns and I brought it forward because United finally sacked Ole! Give the one season challenge a go and keep me informed throughout the week or in the discord channel, a link is in the description! Enjoy!
Yes bro great channel, I picked Villa on FM22, a team I can build & gradually improve. I signed Gaetano Castrovilli he's one of my favourites, I play him as a CM, a 3 man midfield with Castrovilli's role as Roaming Playmaker. So effective, controlled possession strong midfield especially with Mikel Merino being one of the other CM's next to Castrovilli and then you have Douglas Luiz with his role as ball winner. I have Wingers each side their roles as inverted wingers. Then I have a forward who's role I have as Trequartista (Julian Alvarez) 🙂
Excellent suggestions, I did nearly the same in my save. However, I pushed Shaw forward as a better crosser and offensive wingback, swapping Ronaldo to the right wing where he scored tons of headers off of Shaw crosses. Sancho does well on the left, and then AWB place defensive right back where his 20 tackling covers for Ronaldo's weakness in defensive support.
Excited for the series but not sure about doing a summer transfer window I'm sure Ole on FM could have bought himself a capable CDM and likely done a whole lot better than he did but the board didn't want to sanction it. Either way kind of feel like the core premise of the series should be to work with this current United squad and do better
I think this previous summer transfer window the board was so desperate to make the fans happy after the super league thing that they would’ve IF ole had sold players to gather the funds for the cdm. ole is the one that chose to keep them in and not buy a proper cdm
United definitely op this year, I used a similar tactic with cr7 as an advanced forward.. scored 80+ goals in 2 seasons, won the domestic treble and champs season 2.. however Ben bottling the easy saves always makes for an awesome series 🤣💜
Interesting series. I played Football Manager for many years (and its predecessor - Championship Manager), but I haven't touched it since FM14 I think. I started watching your channel with the AFC Thames series and I've been thinking of getting back into FM, but feel a little bit intimidated by the changes that have happened in all these years. A series like this that goes a bit more in-depth (as well as watching some of Zealand's explainers) might be the push I need to jump back in. Cheers!
As a Man U fan, I totally agree with all of this Ben. Signing Ronaldo goes against the philosophy of the past few years of progress, especially when there are problems elsewhere (like at DM). Loving your signings, I'd take Kondogbia or Sanches over Fred any day of the week. Can't wait to see how this goes!
I couldn't think of much worse than Zidane at United. He's not great at building a club, he's just a man who just lets great players play and hope it works
So what you've done, is to model the team a bit like Liverpool. Lots of workrate and running, and allowing their best attacking option, to not always take part in the pres or defence.

The great thing about FM is that you don’t need to adhere to the real world narratives. First thing I did was got Pogba signed and then bought Tchouameni...that was it. United in that first season, fixed. Then the second summer I signed Rice and Bellingham just because. Since then I haven’t made a single signing and just promoted all the youth players. I sold Heaton, Grant, Jones, Matić, Mata, Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Cavani, Chong and Lindelöf over the course of the first 2 summers and got 3 top seasons out of Ronaldo before he chose to retire.
Ben is that type of Manager that use Martial for the a season at Milan and he score 30 goals but sell him first day at Man UTD since he is not good enough
It's all about the usage of the player, if I was playing 2 strikes I might keep him, but with Greenwood and Rashford, he's not needed, and cashing in made sense to fund other business.

I haven’t watched the vid yet but I think you should clear out the whole back room staff as they’ve been just as poor behind ole and It’s the right decision
it still makes no sense Ole being sacked look at what he has done for the last 3 years and remember the squad he inherited and that git Woodward limiting his transfers that Ole wanted in the 3 years he has gone up higher and higher each year as well as making numerous finals appearances (true they failed in the finals but hey he got us there) just because they run into a bad run of form geez still makes no sense.
Honestly it wouldn’t be that hard to make no transfers and challenge for the title with this United team
Agree with you with regards to Ronaldo, shouldn't sign him and once they did have no choice but to play him. Same with Maguire being captain, think that was an issue. Midfield is biggest issue and think you made right signings
The game thinks the players are better than they are. Got 13 assists out of AWB in my first crack at it. De Gea isn't a coward in the game. McFred are pretty damn good.
It's doable to win the league without transfers.
I’m surprised you didn’t choose Kessie over Kondogbia.
There’s a good video on Tifo on why Ronaldo makes United worse, can recommend
What’s this? Loki Doki?
You've clicked the wrong channel mate.
@@DoctorBenjyFM I mean like, he’s done the same series
Kind of stupid to say United dont have winners within their team now. Ronaldo, Varane, Cavani, De Gea, Pogba, Bruno ++
When you mentioned Liverpool signed Milner i kinda laughed, United brought in Ronaldo for that reason before this season. And what you said about Ronaldo at the start of the video... oh no.
I like the signings of Barella and Kondogbia
what skin is ben using? :)
