Thanks for the love. It's gonna be a banger! To the minority that are struggling with the term, 'budget,' the clue is in the name: Budget Bike Battle Italia - Italian sportsbikes on a budget. Other than buying two groggy old RSV Milles or high-mileage howlers, £6k is about as low as you can go for something sensible.
Bigtinycrawler the series isn’t about ‘what bike you should get if you want to ride to Italy’ so why should it need to be easy to obtain? If you want to ride to Italy yourself you wouldn’t buy one of these, get an old versys or bandit and ride there. But that would be shit tv. For the bike you’re getting and the premium brand, it is budget. Parameters being ‘Italian’ and ‘ sports bike ‘
Maybe it's just me, but I kinda liked seeing them buy a bike just to find out how bad it really was and it needing some work. Then seeing how many bad or good decisions they could make whilst fixing the problems.
Both amazing choices! Although, like many have pointed out already, the red/silver color scheme would have made that MV look so much more beautiful. Also, the community surrounding the 44Teeth is awesome, I almost want to upvote every single comment under these videos, poeple are really funny and positive. Jizz on, peeps.
@gliddofglood You don't necessarily have to, only when it's a bit colder. Yes, sometimes the 999 needs 2 s to get started by the distinctive weak starter of every Ducati. But many times, the engine fires up immidiately after pressing the button.
@woha. It varies. My black 999 never needed the accelerator even when cold. Then it developed a starting problem (after about 10 years) and did. I’ve been lent one of a similar age and it won’t start without the accelerator.
I own a 2003 749S and it has a battery saving feature where if you don't start the engine within 10-15 seconds of turning the key, the bike cuts power to the starter coils. After another 15 seconds or so, the bike further cuts power to the front headlight and you have to turn the ignition off and on again to restart everything. I'm guessing that's what happened with Jason Statham here and he wasn't aware of it.
Sue and Jason have great chemistry, and the production value keeps getting better. I enjoy it as much as the Clarkson-Hammond-May triumvirate. Great work guys.
2013 Ducati Monster 1100 EVO on AutoTrader for £6k with 9,000 miles on the clock. Found it in 20 seconds lol HOWEVER.... Those are some seriously stunning machines that will outperform almost any rider on the road. Ps. Both look sexy as hell. I literally couldn't choose between the two. Both great choices.
Well I have just come back injured from Afganistan as I am in the Army. I come on to youtube to see whats new and my ultimate channel 44 teeth is showing the new budget bike battle. It has brought a massive smile to my face and I am loving the show. Keep up the great vids guy's. :).
I would like you two guys to know, that I am currently recovering from a double fusion in my back. Smoking a joint and watching this channel has become my favorite evening activity. Thank you for doing what you do. ✌️😎
I know it's not a super sport or anything but my ER6f with under 16k miles cost only £2400, that's more like a budget bike. I nearly got tempted to go for an old late 90's ZX7r with low mileage for £1600 and a 99 ZX9r for £1400.
I have an 17' Aprilia Tuono and a 91' Ducati 900ss. I am going to love every minute of this series. And 6.2 -6.5k is stuff all cash. Thanks for doing another series guys! Dont care who wins...
Oh WOW this is a fantastic idea and this is going to be an amazing journey. I can't wait for this to turn out even better than season 1. You guys are absolutly amazing keep it up.
I'm glad you bought bikes to keep this time, they're going to be worth more for the simple fact that they're going down the books on the 44Teeth channel... Best series about bikes ever!
I'm gonna have to say ....... prefer the Ducati styling for the simple fact the MV's face looks like the weird robot being from the shitty Lost in Space Tv series remake #SorryBaron
Guys can I just say the improvement of the Audio and video in the last few years is just bloody incredible! Hats of to you for investing in the channel! I was searching for Italian bikes within about 10 seconds of seeing those two haha, I’m travelling the world for a year...6 months left...supposed to be fun but it’s like a damn prison sentence now! Just wanna do one back home and buy a bike. FML.
Yeah.. I'm incapable of anything but wanting that Terblanche thing to be a bucket and a half of suck all the way to the finish line, because yuck. Haha. Can't wait to be wrong just like MCN was wrong to publish their first impression ("obviously those must be placeholder headlights") for about 1h before correcting their article; because YGBSM.
I think the rear of the bike, the profile, and maybe perhaps even the front is really sexy. They just really fucked up the headlights imo. nonetheless these are really cheap where I live and I'd love to get one, if not for the expensive maintenance costs.
I agree. I almost bought one back then and the plan was to find some way to use the 4 side vents as headlights, and cover up the stock ones. The multistrada was the worst. Just ridiculous looking beast. LOL Still makes me laugh everytime I see it.
Ever since I was a kid i wanted a 916 or one of its generation, i hated the new 999 until about 5 years ago at cadwell park bsb I saw one and it looked incredible, i was amazed at how i had thought such a beautiful bike was ugly. Now i own a 749s, and there were 748s in as good condition for the same money, i decided i wanted the better bike that was just as beautiful as the icon before it. If the 999 had been launched 10 years later no one would have questioned its asthetics once. Better to be the original than a homage and never being the icon like the 1098. Besides its not all about looks more importantly is race day.
One of your best videos ever. I am really looking forward to the trip to Italy and the visits to the factories. I hope for many videos in this budget bike battle. They are both wonderful bikes but the MV is the best looker by far.
The headlight on the MV is just awful IMO. I know it's a super minor thing, but that headlight is just so ugly. And the 999 Duc is probably my favorite looking, the 1098/1198 is close but the headlines hold those back a little as well.
Lived for two years with an F4 1000, i am amazed if your 312 goes the distance without major issues, theres just so much to go wrong if the known faults are not done before. Wish you luck anyhow!!!
Quite interesting comparison and funny. I'm lucky to own both of these models. I can say there must be something wrong with his MV as mine is tight and was thrashed around Almeria with no sign of a hinge! 1:50's were easy on it. I love them both for different reasons. I wouldn't take either on a long, European trip though. The MV will probably boil over at some point as it hates going slow..... The Ducati will probably fail to start if it rains on you! Just my experience with these machines. Neither has happened yet though as I only ride them in the dry and mostly on track.
What people fail to realise is that £6.5k is budget for a sportsbike now. In 2018 people will pay 15k for a basic Fiesta Lets not forget the Ducati is 15 years old, and the MV is well, an MV. Lots of potential for breakdowns and hilarity. Love what your doing guys!!
6.5k is not budget when you talk used bike market. And sportsbike doesn't have to equal the highest tech modern crotch rocket with 180+ hp and Ohlins. Sportsbike for most people is a 600 class or higher, and just because modern bikes are expensive doesn't mean the used market has risen. Lets compare apples to apples here
nobody talked here about the ''general'' used bike market. This is about the ITALIAN USED sportbikes that are considered to be budget compared to their NEW equivalents as paying ''only'' 6500 GBP for an MV Agusta is still better than selling your sould to the devil and buy a new one for 20K. yes we all know that we can find old japanese sportbikes for about 1000 GBP but they are not italian bikes :) they are japanese ;)
Béla Halmai don't compare to new top-of-the-line bikes, thats irrelevant. And no need to take Japanese bikes into consideration either. The point is, when you talk "budget" it doesn't make sense to take the top speced models and even blow your original budget of 5k. They could simply have gone with a base 999 that would be easily found for 5k, but uuuhh no they wanted the top spec special, so they went and blew their budget with 1.5k for something completely irrelevant to the average person. Heck, you could even do real budget and go for the 749 instead, which is basically the same bike just a bit less power (but a more revvy engine). Point is, these guys didn't know how to settle for something, which normal people on a budget actually have to do - hence why few people can actually relate to this video. Most of us dont have the luxury of just blowing our bike budget with +30% just because we cant settle for the perfectly fine base model Italian supersport. And instead of an MV F4, they could have gone for an RSV mille of same era which is much more budget friendly. What this video should have been titled as, is; "Top spec used Italian supersports - at whatever price they are available".
Kho Sto the Gen 1's still have more than enough Italian electrical gremlins for my taste and they love a good sprag clutch too, given half a chance. I also think they look nicer.
YES! I loved the previous series, and jumped in my seat when I saw the 44t notification tick in. I must admit though, you did get surprisingly nice bikes for it being a "budget" thing. Part of what I loved in the last series what everything that needed fixing, the jumpstarts (watching you go to work), misfiring cylinders and so on. It seems like these bikes just need some minor TLC and they're all good. Still though, watching and listening to you guys talk about bikes is one of the best things on TH-cam. I'd watch the shit out of any bike battles, that being a budget, high-roller or average joe version! Keep it up!
13:50 A good reason to wait for the needle is because its about the same time to wait for the fuel pump to get the lines up to adequate pressure. If the bike was just running, then barely matters at all.
sethvicious he's not wrong 5k gets a nice stripple,fz, monster new sv650, new cb500. Budget if you earn 50k a year and want more toys not really the 2k most have spare for a bike. Looking forward to the new adventure though.
sirico he is wrong and so are you. "Fairly new anything" are his exact words. Good luck finding a fairly new superbike for 6500. Or a fairly new supernaked. Not to mention the countless individual bikes across every category that you couldn't find for 6500.
sethvicious "fairly new" isn't why people watch this series I found 600 bikes for 6k ranging from Ducati monsters to aprillia shivers to a Moto guzzi v7 on auto trader for that money. This is budget Italian superbike battle and that's cool but he's not wrong for pointing out that budget bike battle to him and others means the challenge of harsh limits and dismantling what people think about high mileage old bikes that someone on 18-20k a year could buy. I'll just leave this here Italian what was it super naked... What under 3k.. What wrong? www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201807158474240?atmobcid=soc3 The lads wanted to bash out another BBB and not have it be a headache but don't just go after people when you're not completely correct yourself.
Really? I checked and there are loads of sub £4K italian bikes. There's a Ducati 748 BIPOSTO near me for £3,295 ffs. Pretty disappointed to be honest. RSV mille are going for £2k mark.
ellisd82 yup quite obvious they bought the bikes out of desire of owning them. Nothing wrong with that, i just wouldn't call it budget bikes, you can buy just about any bike in the market for that money
Yeah, still going to watch and will still be decent content as their banter is brilliant, just Don't call it budget when it is £1500 over original £5k lol.
6500 quid a budget bike? Guys... you're out of touch. Looking forward to the series, but really... I just spent 3000 on an 2008 FZ1 and I'd barely call that a budget bike.
For sure, not suggesting it's on the same level -I'm just saying that when considering a "budget bike" contest, spending 6500 pounds on an MV Augusta wouldn't spring to mind. How about, say -assuming you were married to the idea of going to Italy- 80s and 90s Ducati's, MVs, and the like? Not sure about you, but I'd rather watch these two fanny about on ancient bikes than 2005+ anyway. Way more exciting. This all being said, I'll support the series as I do all 44T content, including buying stickers and everything else, so please don't think I'm some sort of hater. Just explaining.
It's actually the Fazer! But yeah, it rides superbly. Really do love it, although the gearing is much longer than my old VFR 750 and takes a bit of getting used to.
Negative Comments on the budget and Italian theme.... I guess they should have just repeated the first series and bought cheap Japanese bikes again. It’s called fresh content guys, it’s supposed to be FUN!
The issue is not with Italian bikes, it's more the fact that they opted to go with the top of the line models in their race trim. That is not exactly what the vast majority of their audience sees as "budget", especially when the actual budget of 5000 was blown immediately with +20%. People don't complain about the content, they just point out some obviously poor understanding of their target audience. A big part of content creation is being able to understand what and how to communicate something that people can understand and relate to. If no one in your audience can relate to your content, then it is misplaced regardless of how well intended it was. Again, not complaining, just constructive criticism. If you actually wanted to do budget Italian superbikes, you could have opted for the 749s or even biposto model instead of the 999. Its more or less the same bike and handles just as well, just a bit less power, but still more than enough for most people and it can haul ass on the track. You could go for an Aprilia RSV Mille instead of the F4, if you can't find a decent F4 for 5 grand, etc. Plenty of options, but setting a relatively high budget and immediately blowing that budget, is not what the audience expects to see or can relate to.
Daniel Kemnitz Do you speak for the vast majority of their audience? how do you know what people’s financial situations are. A new Ducati is £25k so to me, £6500 is budget. I believe Baron explains the philosophy within a few minutes. “We want to buy a bike that we will sell on for a profit after a while” then Statham says yeah “it’s an investment” Did you even watch it?
Jacques Aalders as they’ve sad, it’s difficult to find decent bargain on their target budget, and they’re doing their best have it low as possible. and also, their aim is to have an italian bike and with class, not an everyday commuter or something.
the budget bike battle was special as a bit could fall off any minute, it could break any minute, it had a journey to make, this is generic and dull,,,6.5k??? nonsense
ibez07 No worries there. Being Italian bikes, bits will fall off, and they will break down sooner or later. Hell, the Duc hardly starting had me floored!!
randykawasaki what are you smoking ? New superbikes are edging towards and over 20k. They got great deals on these beauties. 6 grand isn't much at all for an euro superbike, let alone Italian!
In the UK right now you could pick a clean Aprilia RSVR for less, and I can think of other examples. No one without a massive sense of entitlement would regard >6k as budget.
I really like the 999 looks, given a choice between a 998 and a 999, the 999 is coming home every time. But the choice between the MV and the duke, goes to the MV. That’s why there is a 2007 998cc F4 312 in the front room. I’ll never ride it to even 75% of it capability, but it just reels special when riding it.
YAAAASSSS!!!! I am SO EXCITED about this BBB! I loved the last one, and this one is just superb, excellent choice of bikes! Fagan: THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING THE TRIPLE NINE!!!! AWESOME!!!!
Well, here we are again, eh lads? HA! I am loving it already. You guys both made great choices. But I am with Chris on this one, that F4 is divine! Not that I don't love the 999. It's no ugly duckling, that is for sure, and for some reason I think Al has the edge this time. We will see how it all unfolds. But we are off to a great start with 2 stellar machines! I can't wait for the next installment.
"Jorge Lorenzo covered in mantequilla" was the quote of the video! Hilarious, as was the whole thing and also extremely interesting, all the more so as I have a 2006 999 and have had from new. And live pretty much in the Alps.
Next BBB, 2 Stroke superbike.
Bebeto Fandi YES YES YES
PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN
He'll probably just bring his HP4 Race for the next BBB series.
Oh man, that would rock! I could do with that for sure.
Care they still be able to be ridden on the street?
Having a pretend shit at work just to watch this ...
callum hambling 😭🍻
What a fucking geezer 🤣🤣
callum hambling Ha ha ha!!!
Aren't we all my good sir
Sorry boss, I got diarrhoea.
Fantastic!..... can’t bloody wait... Let the battle commence ..
Chris: "Everyone and their mums got a bloody Ducati!"
Fagan: "Like who?"
Chris: "Farmers."
Fagan: "Who else?"
Chris: "Farmers' mums."
"looks good but bloody hard work" killed me lol
Freaking hot fuzz 😂😂
Thanks for the love. It's gonna be a banger!

It's the second in a series of Budget Bike Battles. We weren't going to replicate the first and we won't replicate this one
Sorry but that's absolute bollox. And in a UK context, as you well know, £6k aint budget.
44Teeth you guys should run around Mugello!!!
I can't believe YOU said the S word.
Bigtinycrawler the series isn’t about ‘what bike you should get if you want to ride to Italy’ so why should it need to be easy to obtain?

Budget Blown Battle! Love it! Hope Chris randomly has a "old" MV quad race exhaust up in the loft again. And a bottom end rebuild kit.
"It even smells good, and you've got four choices on the back" 😂
Fantastic can't wait to watch the series chaps. Starts with MV ends in a fireball had me in stitches 😂😂😂
Why is it when these two do a budget bike battle, I start looking on eBay As if I'am going to buy a bike...
Maybe it's just me, but I kinda liked seeing them buy a bike just to find out how bad it really was and it needing some work. Then seeing how many bad or good decisions they could make whilst fixing the problems.
dyi01 yeah me too
dyi01 don't worry, you'll get plenty of that with these bikes. One of them isn't even fully road legal yet.
i paused it at 4 1/2 minutes. Al has already won this battle. Awesome choice, Al. Brilliant
999 isn't ugly, it's daring, progressive and eclectic. Only people with simple and boring tastes mock it for it's looks.
T Kaakko you're right, the design is pure beaut! And that exhaust... is like an icing on the bike!!
Oh yeah, from the side and the rear it's stunning.
I like the 998
I'm mocking it. But then, again, I am primitive: I like the 916, the MV F4, the Jaguar E-Type, the XJ, I like Cole Porter and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
@@NisseOhlsen not primitive, cultured.
Hoorah! ‘The budget....if you’re loaded....bike battle’ is back. Looking forward to more chaps! Nice theme choice
Italian accounting for this battle.5k budget let's spend more! this should be interesting though
To be truly Italian, the bikes need to change owners every six months.
Merkel did not approof this budget.
Can we get an update on what happened to the old bikes?
Popcorn time! The Duc hardly starting was hilarious already.
I'm not sure he put on the throttle accelerator. Cos if you don't, they probably won't start. Stick it on full, start it, shut it most of the way off.
@gliddofglood You don't necessarily have to, only when it's a bit colder. Yes, sometimes the 999 needs 2 s to get started by the distinctive weak starter of every Ducati. But many times, the engine fires up immidiately after pressing the button.

It’s the “fuel pump”.. there trash! I went through 2 of them when i had a 749s.... damn i miss that bike!
I own a 2003 749S and it has a battery saving feature where if you don't start the engine within 10-15 seconds of turning the key, the bike cuts power to the starter coils. That Ducati is a stunning bike.
in isolation, yes. Trouble is, it's in the company of the MV.
The MV looks like a GSXR
@@DuckYou69 yeah no, just one look from behind and you know where you at
It’s not lol the mv wins hands down
Chris is talking about his bike 'looking good' whilst wearing the gayest leathers in Britain. BUT,,This will be EPIC!!!
Ain't they just. You have to admire the fact he has so blatantly come out
They're not 'gay', they're 'flamboyant'. ; )
Liberace was flamboyant too
Real Men Wear PInk, apparently...
Nice to see that you're true to your brand...
Sue and Jason have great chemistry, and the production value keeps getting better. I enjoy it as much as the Clarkson-Hammond-May triumvirate. Great work guys.
I will never get tired of 44 Teeth's pseudo-Top Gear. And I'm team Al this time but I feel deep internal conflict because I love both bikes so much.

I got a 03’ RSV Mille fantastic motorcycle
This is by far the most entertaining bike channel on TH-cam. And the budget bike battle has been an amazing series to follow. Keep it up 👍
Call me a crazy mother lover, but I don't consider the MV beautiful. I actually prefer the quirky look of the Ducati.
Have you seen them both in the flesh?

that 749/999 gen is my fav ducati supersport of all time, the design is just timeless. love it! can't wait for this budget bike battle!
As a Ducati owner.....I choose the Mv Agusta. I’ve always wanted one but never pulled the trigger.

What this video should have been titled as, is; "Top spec used Italian supersports - at whatever price they are available".
the longer I look at the 999 the more I begin to love it
Love it, love it, love it - The Duc for me chaps, when can we buy stickers
I'm not a bike guy, but watching these two is really fun. Keep up the good work.
Next time I think you could consider adventure tour, budget bike battle with the budget around 2000 or £3000
Lake como is great! Been there also came back through the Susten mountain pass - lovely
Two beautiful beasts id love to ride, I like the bikes too.
Cant wait!
Only biking related channel worth watching!!!!
Thanks Lads! Fcuking awesome!
You guys going to World Ducati Week?
I cant tell you how much I love these series
I would've taken a RSV1000 over either of those tbh.
Gen2 RFact for £4k easy
And you would have got a brilliant deal, obviously Donald - but we're talking European class here, not just an outside contender such as Aprillia.
Kho Sto Gen 1 mille R. At least you don't have to worry about the bike eating the battery while you stop for lunch. Not that I'm biased or anything...
Or chewing up stators.. reg/recs.. sprag clutch.. yeah you might have a point. Do love me a Gen2 for that authentic italian temperament
Keep it up!
" She feels tight" .... Ive missed you guys
Well good to hear both bikes have working brakes this time around, wonder which one will need to be jump started!!!
Budget...... good one
13:50 A good reason to wait for the needle is because its about the same time to wait for the fuel pump to get the lines up to adequate pressure. If the bike was just running, then barely matters at all.
I was 100% sure there would be a 999 in there. And I'm glad I was right, because this bike is awesome and I think it doesn't look bad at all.
Epic guys, simply epic! You absolutely nailed it. 998s and F4 750 SP here... every time I open the garage, the Jesus chime starts to play...!
Would have been better to get something cheaper..coz for 6500 most people can get a 2nd hand fairly new..anything
You are clueless
sethvicious he's not wrong 5k gets a nice stripple,fz, monster new sv650, new cb500.
What wrong?

The lads wanted to bash out another BBB and not have it be a headache but don't just go after people when you're not completely correct yourself.
sirico your reading comprehension is next level bud. Glad you typed out an essay tho
This video should be at the start of the playlist.
Amazing content.
Great ideas and bikes gents. Can’t wait to see how it all shapes up.
6500 quid a budget bike? Guys... you're out of touch. Looking forward to the series, but really... I just spent 3000 on an 2008 FZ1 and I'd barely call that a budget bike.
yeah cuz everyone knows that Yamaha is Italian, and the FZ1 is a SuperBike!
Lovely bike mate. Japanese metal is considerably less expensive than Italian though.
Supernaked.
Awesome! Cracking looking pair of bikes, love them both. I was never sure of the 999 but over the last 10years the looks have really grown on me
Negative Comments on the budget and Italian theme.... I guess they should have just repeated the first series and bought cheap Japanese bikes again. It’s called fresh content guys, it’s supposed to be FUN!
Yeah, sorry we spent over £12k of our own money on free content :-)
44Teeth TH-cam 2018, proof that people aren’t even happy with free anymore haha
not unknown for people to invest in their YT content, some see it as part of a business model...... Admittedly a risky enterprise these days.
“We want to buy a bike that we will sell on for a profit after a while” then Statham says yeah “it’s an investment”
Did you even watch it?
5:35 those are the most gopping leathers I've ever seen. I love them
#TeamMV :-)
My week just got a whole lot better! Cant wait for this one!!!
Team MV!
Love it, guys. You've got a great format. Props.
It's 'fist bump' NOT 'fisting'. Yoiks.

+Shaft0 ....Oh my!
Budget Brain Battle - Idiotica. $50 budget, spent $65.
I must say the 999 would edge it on the looks for me! Im sure this will be some hell of a trip!
Budget of £5000, you need the title changed..

Part of the charm of the 1st bbb was the bits you added to the bike, some needed some cosmetic. What can you add to those? Windscreen and levers?
Team 999
And in general class and elegance...them are fighting words. Hilarious banter, boys!
Jizzery is coming
Amazing if the last series anything to go this series is going to be EPIC.
Tiny Rider I somehow doubt it since its not a budget battle at all.
sooooooooooooooooo not a BUDGET bike battle.....why isnt this callled the semi expensive bike battle????
ibez07 budget italian bike. they mentioned it.
Because 6500 isnt expensive?
Jacques Aalders as they’ve sad, it’s difficult to find decent bargain on their target budget, and they’re doing their best have it low as possible. and also, their aim is to have an italian bike and with class, not an everyday commuter or something.
if you look at average prices, these are low end
Budget for what they are
Winter in Australia just warmed up for me in anticipation of this next BBB; should be a beauty!!!
the budget bike battle was special as a bit could fall off any minute, it could break any minute, it had a journey to make, this is generic and dull,,,6.5k??? nonsense
ibez07 No worries there. Being Italian bikes, bits will fall off, and they will break down sooner or later. Hell, the Duc hardly starting had me floored!!
Erm... let's wait and see shall we... ;-) :-D
+N221BP Not only will bits fall off, they may also burst into flames at any second.
An F4 and a 999 ? I would take the beaten ZX7R or the SRAD if it were about making miles.
keep riding your japanese scooter
Even before the start, this battle is already over! Congrats to the 999!!
Budget? Nah. Not over £6k.
randykawasaki what are you smoking ? New superbikes are edging towards and over 20k. They got great deals on these beauties. 6 grand isn't much at all for an euro superbike, let alone Italian!
In the UK right now you could pick a clean Aprilia RSVR for less, and I can think of other examples. No one without a massive sense of entitlement would regard >6k as budget.
RO55M4C Fair enough man.
These guys are starting to become the good old school Top Gear of motorcycles. ;)
