Yes, it's hard not to think about getting home. Glad y'all had a nice time in FL again. Very nice to meet new friends. Maggie sure was happy to be home. 🙂👍
We say we’re going to take it easy on the way back, but then my husband and I both smell the hay in the barn and hightail it for home. ⚡️🎉 Every. Time. Hahaha! We both bet y’all would head home. 😊 Thank you for taking us along!!
And how you started the video is part of what we enjoy about RVing. Options! Eat out or eat in the rv or a combination of both. The house/rv is with us. Our bathroom, etc..
WOW! Another season of VTL under my belt. I can’t wait for next season.😁 Seeing Maggie come home reminded me of our new pup. We took him on his first short camping trip this weekend and he did great. But when we got home he was so excited to be there, have all his toys and “drop his calling card” in his own backyard. Thanks to all our military and first responder’s. I don’t want to imagine where we would be without them. 😉
Thanks for taking us along thru your fun videos. Some awesome wildlife shots. I like staying couple hours or so out so can get home early in day and get unloaded, then can relax
It’s bittersweet the end of a trip. Glad to be home and relax with more room to spread out, and then start getting itchy for the next trip. Must be the nomad gene in me.
Owen, I thought you showed your napping recliner at the house. Regardless of all the windshield time, home is best. Looking forward to more videos of your adventures.
I know what you mean about "getting home", but we slow down and stay in an area about 3 hours from home so that we can drive home in the morning refreshed and have more energy to unpack after a long trip.
Thanks for taking us along. Great adventures. We’ve also find it hard to not marathon drive home the closer we get to the end of an adventure. 10-12 hour last push drives have been known to occur if we were smart enough to get up early.
I've learned to do all of our sightseeing on the way to our destination because when we make the turn to come home, we don't dally. We stop every 2 hours to stretch and get gas but other than that, we are home bound.
We used to only make one stop going back to MI from FL but as we've gotten older it's at least 2 stops and because the driver has had back/knee issues the last 2 years we have made 3. Thanks for sharing your awesome FL adventures!! 😊
Boy ,do I have a funny story about this topic and would love to share with ya’all. Coming home from California towing our 25 ft 5th wheel with our Ford diesel Superduty, had a terrible windy day; rv’s with their awning laying on the ground, Tractor trailers leaning over like I never knew they could. I wanted to stop sooner (because My husband never wants to drive) but he kept saying we had to keep going, we were expecting nasty storms, like tornadoes. Onward, until we were in Iowa and looking to our left was a neat little campground, protected by a giant berm created by the interstate. Glad we did, cause where I wanted to stop was hit pretty hard with bad weather. So, off we go, from the middle of the state of Iowa and my non-wanderlusting, homebody husband announces he plans on sleeping in his own bed tonight. WTH! We live 5 hours north of Chicago! Well, I told him to plan on sharing the driving today cause just to much for this girl in one day. Off we go, he is driving for over 3 hours and wants to change drivers and we did. It was beautiful weather as we came around the south side of Chicago and I thought, man, we are making good time. Jinxed us, a couple more miles and we came to a screeching halt. We sat in traffic about 15 min when my homebody announced he has to pee! Not to big a surprise after drinking all that Mt Dew, but now he is really complaining. Being a good wife, I suggested he get in the camper and GO! Tired of listening to it, right? Now comes the questions...what do ya think is going on? How long ya think we will be waiting, etc.? I told him, why don”t you ask the trucker that is sitting next to you, we were all in this together, JUST GO! If we start to move a little, I will take my foot off the brake. Finally, he makes his move, but homebody left the entry door open and you can guess what happened next. Yep, took my foot off the brake, we moved about 4 ft and stopped again. Well, me and the truck laughed like hell as all we heard was a scream coming from the rv LOL. (Still laughing). Here comes homebody, he was so funny, could not help myself, said he still didn’t get to pee! Omg, what a ride home, every now and then I could not help myself and broke out in a huge smirk or giggle. Eleven that nite he finally was able to crawl in his own bed. Not the best day every but dang near. Boy, I miss that guy, we had some great times in our 48 years together, next month will be 2 years since he passed
Wow! This season is already over. I’m sad it’s over. It went by fast. Glad you made it home safely. Maggie was happy to be home too! Looking forward to the next season. Have a great week and weekend and see you soon!
We rather take it slow home but it doesn't always happen. Just returned home.....stop at camp spot or get home at 10pm? We stopped at camp spot this time!! Happy Trails 🐕
We totally hurry home. It seems once we are turned around and each mile brings us closer to home, we have trouble stopping. Also, we tend to plan to see all the things on the way out. Then the road home is always so familiar/boring, it’s hard to find new things to see and do. Even though we try to do a loop, it’s always on a road we’ve been on before. (Not willing to take the back roads, again, because we are excited to get home.)
We live paradise, St Augustine FL , 1 mile from a beautiful pristine beach. We go camping in GSNP in the fall. Then we stop for a.night on ourcway home and visit friends during their live music show that they host. 😊
We do the Same thing when we head toward home....usually with the same outcome...get me home to my bed!😂 Glad you're back. Thanks for bringing us with you. That bakery stop looked amazing! Much love from SC, Jane❤🙏
Fresh baked cheese danish and apple fritters sounds like a darn good incentive to slow down (just a teeny bit) on that trip home. When two people can drive, you can put that hammer down. So glad you got home safe and you took us along for the ride. Be well and safe travels. Hugs for sweet Maggie.
My husband wants to head straight home without hesitation! I would rather take our time and get home at a more reasonable hour. We have tried his way and...well it has cost us money and more time his way. He is better at just taking it easy on the way home. Lol 🦋🥰💕🙏
We try to take it easy coming home, but when we get close, hammer down. That bed makes the difference…. We love you guys. So enjoyed the Florida trip series… miss you guys and Maggie!!!❤
I know you were glad to get home and sleep in your own bed. Sweet Maggie is happy wherever her mom and dad happen to be. It’s always nice to see you spend a little time with your followers….how special it was to run into the retired NYFD couple. Hoping you have another trip planned soon.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle we have a couple of 3 day trips planned, Amity COE in Alabama next week, Santa Rosa, FL for our friends anniversary in August. Will look forward to seeing where you go on your short trips.
Oh my goodness, I am rolling. At the beginning, when Maggie was in the backseat, she looks small, and her head is rolling around as you are hitting bumps. Reminded me of the worm guys from Men in Black. Ya don't ask. 😂
Have you considered a Rent-a-Maggie side business? I’m sure lots of people would love her as a travel companion😉 Just wondering where else have you been in 🇨🇦? I must admit, I’ve travelled quite extensively, including Egypt, Australia, NZ but never to Newfoundland. I’m a #badCanadian. Thanks for showing it off. Happy trails
Re gas mileage do you miss the Diesel or does cheaper gasoline and less expensive maintenance make up for lower mileage compared to diesel? I wonder what the new diesel Ekko Mileage will be.

We love our camper van bed. But those long, hot showers with plenty of elbow room sure do morivate us towards home!

Glad you had a good first trip with you pup, it’s so fun to experience things with them. Totally agree about our first responder’s.
Love our little cameo appearance and selfie😊. We feel so blessed to have met you.
We feel just as blessed. I hope you have a great trip to the Maritimes.
Great adventure!!!!!! Thank you for sharing this channel with me!!! As always BS & BK & BC
Another great video. Loved all those FL campgrounds and adventures.

We enjoyed your winter adventure Thanks. We just got home from camping at Surf City NC it’s always great to get Home. 👍🏝️
Once you smell the barn the decision is made. Y'all are welcome in Florida anytime. Wave when you go by Jacksonville. Happy tails and safe travels.
We need to get together again when we come through your area.

Run for home, been there plenty of times. It’s like you can smell it, and the pets love it too. Another winter in the books.

We have the opposite problem. We could have easily turned that into a three day trip home. Glad you had a safe trip home.
We keep saying we need to do better… we will keep trying.

I guess you could smell the open barn door! Looks like you had an amazing time . And the bakery was right up my alley. All the best

Van. unreal .
At first I felt a little bit sad that’s it’s over. Then I thought, where to next!
I always feel the exact same way.

We are having to stay close to home this summer so we are doing a lot of short trips. What are you guys doing this summer, and big trips?

Yummy! I’ll take Maggie’s peanut butter cookie. Peanut butter is my favorite.
It’s Owen’s favorite too.
Your videos are such an encouragement to so many. Thank you for sharing!!

Highway weather also gives weather on route.
Good to know, thanks for sharing.

11 mpg isn’t too good for a vehicle, but it’s great for a house, even a small one. 😉
Very true!
We are the same way. When is your west trip?
We are not sure when we’ll back out west, maybe next winter.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestylethat's about what we're thinking about, maybe closer to spring
So now that another season is ending, can you tell us how much you ended up spending on fuel ?
We're actually going to answer that question in an upcoming Q&A
Owen the app On the Way which one is it? There are multiple in the App Store for iPhone.
