I think it’s that you know what you’re doing, you did a great job of explaining virtually everything happening. Your confidence & knowledge makes everyone feel safer for everyone onboard. It’s still nice that so many other boats were around though!
Bart, I have obviously following you from day 1 many congratulations on reaching New Zealand. It is wonderful to see that Tranquility has seen you through safely. Your seamanship is to be commended. We will always have a spot for Tranquility in our hearts. You have taken her so much further than we ever thought possible during our ownership. Best wishes Steve.
Phew...well done guys! Also BIG respect for being able to film and explain so much. We definitely know how hard this is! 😄 We enjoyed watching and felt with you all the different kind of emotions.
That was a great video... very authentic... it was obvious how worried you were when suddenly leaving Manura Reef, not an optimal start of such a trip. I would have been worried, too. But, again, you did it! I'd say not only Tranquility performed very well - you did, too. What a feeling it must have been to approach the shores of Aotearoa... actually, my wife and I also cried when watching you sailing into the Bay of Islands... well done!!
Yes it was far from ideal. Luckily though we made up the plan to leave on friday allready. But we were talked out of it by the weather router. So when we all of a sudden left we knew it was in the end our own decision to go at this day. It really was a very emotinal moment. Thanks for sharing how you and your wife are feeling with us😇
Super well done. Always a tricky passage that one. I have been following you from the beginning, and every time there is a big sailing challenge you EASILY rise to it. That is because it is very obvious that your sailing experience is actually much deeper than many cruisers. The boat is always so well set up. Great crew. And it's always amazing how fast a well prepared and well sailed smaller boat can be! Again, well done!
Dear Bart, Kim and Liz, what an interesting and informative video! I've been following you for a few months now since I bought my very own Scanmar 33 (first boat), you're a great inspiration and im very much looking forward to following your next adventures. Thanks for your videos and big congrats on this passage. Best regards, Anna
Congrats on your beautiful sailing boat! Which Hull nr do you have? And where do you sail her? Thanks for following and your nice comment. Fair winds from us
thank you! im very excited about getting to sail more in the spring and summer time, to start with I need to get some more experience and will sail in Denmark where we live. But watching your videos makes me dream bigger :) the one I owe is from 1982 -nr 225 I believe

how come you guys use the auto pilot when you got a windvane?
When you see us use the autopilot we are under engine or motorsailing.
SV Tranquility & Heavy Metal music ?? there seems to be a conflict of interests here.
Hahaha it is amusing. Also the fact we sail Tranquillity quite fast is a conflict on it's own🤣
