Glad for Chris Wood here, got a goal almost 2, probably should have been 2 but hey ho that's how it is, he gets a hard time but he really done a good job last year and always held the play up well the 2nd half of the season, not as much goals but still a huge team player that goy us points undoubtedly.
I hope he gets more game time and increases his numbers in the big games and fans appreciate him more.
The defender pushed him from the back with his right hand when Wood pulled the trigger. Hence he lost his balance and his shot went awry. Isn't it a penalty warrant, clear push on the back?

That studs up challenge on Darlow was appalling. What a disgraceful show by the ref, that challenge warranted a red card.

Thought wood was good today, especially with the very little support Murphy and Ritchie supply. I think some depth out wide is crucial if we want a cup run. Thankfully we have Fraser to come back who would probably play today

Really glad we got Trippier in, wouldn't like to play again St him. These fringe players did alright but you can see the gulf between these and the first eleven and when Trippier and Big Joe came on the difference was palpable.

Lascelles has a pretty good record scoring, as a defender he has ability but makes too many mistakes, I would like to see him play 90 minutes as a striker. Eddie Howe could convert him.

Darlow should have stayed down after that disgraceful tackle. The ref might have then rightly sent the player off
says a lot about Newcastle fans if you support cheating. He got up because he was fine. Darlow showed good sportsmanship and respect by not acting like most premier league keepers.

Eddie Howe interviews by pundits has terrible problems on volume levels, when you email nufctv they simply ignore you and don't reply. So there are some things that need drastic improvement.
Sometimes it's important against teams in the middle of nowhere like this, especially to build confidence for mediocre players and also striker Chris Wood, here is able to score goals and knows the joy of scoring goals.. kudos to Jamaal lascelles for scoring too. .
Btw please buy 2 more strikers, Kamaldeen Sulemana or Bamba Dieng or Joao Pedro or Goncalo Ramos or Victor Osimhen,if they belong to Newcastle United, the top 6 will be easy to achieve, it could be a top 4 bonus... thanks also to the management of NUFC who has successfully brought Alexander Isak to St. James Park Stadium. .

Hemmings challenge should have been a straight red - at a minimum that should have been at least his second yellow. Nevitt should also have been off for his elbow on Lascelles (not shown in these highlights; neither was the awful foul on Krafth)

I missed the first half. What happened to Krafty and Matty, and Lascelles nose?
I think Matty was subbed as a precaution and to give Lewis some game-time. Krafth was the victim of an awful challenge from behind which looks like it twisted his knee. Lascelles was elbowed when jumping for a header - Levitt jumped for the ball then swung his arm back. (The motion was deliberate - it was entirely unnatural for the type of jump)
Referee was woeful - if VAR had been in place they'd have been down to 9 men easily.

Willock is so poor, he was also poor on Man City game, Guimaraes and Joelinton is top noch, but Willock is a weak link, if Howe wants that top 7 push, he needs an upgrade on that Willock post. But Anderson is good, he deserves a shot at EPL, he could be as good as Gordon in Everton, or Palmer in Man City.
When Jonjo is Fit I think he'll come in for willock
