I love the "open"/"closed" idea!! Kids will keep their hands raised fooooooooevahhhhhhh to tell me something crucial like, "My second cousin's baby sister has little feet...OR...ask me something like, "What are we doing today?!" (As I'm telling them what we're doing today! lololol)
Oh my gosh! I just went and ordered a chime. I am SICK of trying to talk loudly to get the kid's attention. One of my art rooms has super high ceilings do it is really echoey so my vocal chords have been feeling it. I am so excited to have this new thing in my tool belt! I also love the happy-sad board. I've been looking for something to do like this, especially one where I don't have to shell out prizes. I made the mistake of doing that with one especially difficult class and it really did not help.

How can you coordinate all these orders with the time? My class is 45 minutes, and it is not enough for them to understand all these orders and also carry out the technical work.. How can I manage time with the orders, please? I am studying for KG level
Hi Cassie, thanks for all your classroom mangagement tips! I love the happy/sad board! But how do you remember which student's got which number? Do they always sit in the same spot all year round? Because our students are used to change their seats and/or swap neighbours every once in a while in class and I really get confused with it. I colour coded the desks too, but it doesn't help at all cos as soon as I remember where they sit, everything gets mixed up again...
This is why I require assigned seats. I tell my kiddos that it is just for me, and not necessarily because I think they can't behave in other spots. I have almost 400 kids... so remembering names is not easy.
Hi cassie! Regarding your kindergarten heart prints, do you give kindergartners the steel wool? Any concern over giving them spray painted materials (once dry obviously)? Thanks

However, I am concerned if I do a verbal roll call and ask each student (25 or more students) a random question that it would take a substantial chunk of time away from class work including introduction of lesson, work time and clean up time. My Art classes are 45 minutes. How does it work for you?

Cassie only does the roll call with questions on the first day of school. It would be great if there was time to do it more often though!
