Imagine being the only person to know who the Beatles are but you don't know the lyrics or how to play any of their songs
Eddie Marin or how to sing or play any instrument
So true.
Ouch
Their songs are a bit complicated and it takes a bit of skills to plau them....I am now in my 2nd year playing guitar and I barely caught up to.their songs after 1 and a half year or so(not going to class btw).I did it how Sir Paul did it,self taughht
learned about 45 or so beatles songs on Rhythm guitar in about a year and a half, some of those on bass, and have a pretty good feel on drums, so all id have to do is find someone who can do lead work better than me and a singer
they made really lovely beatles covers in this movie
by the way i never saw this scenes...maybe i should buy this movie lol
Who are the Beatles?
Ya boi Cash 😂😂
Wolvereyne if you’re a Beatles fan and not uptight then go for it lol
@@yaboicash6666 I hope for my own sanity and your life that you are joking
if the beatles didn't exist in this universe then it's possible that other bands didn't exist like say, oasis. he could've taken their whole discography too lol
Have you seen the movie? ;) Haha
Who wants Oasis's discography, ewww. Blur on the other hand...
@@DoubleDHarvey say sike right now
thevege nope! i frequently see clips of this movie on my recommended so i kind of picked up on the plot. do they ever mention anything similar in the movie?
yeah quuenss also
Lily James is freaking adorable
Matias Pereyra she was named under 2 best aurors. Wait wot!!!!!
So I never saw the movie, but how does she not become famous as well if shes recording these songs with him?
@@ComicCrossing
She's just singing backing vocals
And the composer in this universe is Jack.
Yes. Yes she very much is.
I think she’s this movies manic pixie dream girl
This was my favourite sequence in the movie. They all looked like they were having so much fun.
too much fun.. but how could you not?
This is what music should be about! My fella used to do Open Mic nights at two local pubs (he had a lot of musical equipment and PA) he played the drums and I played keyboard. Lots of people turned up with all kinds of instruments, saxophones, harmonicas, accordions. We had so many musicians that they were only allowed 3 songs each, to try to fit everyone in. We had so much fun! Even when it went wrong, it was still hilarious! (Sometimes it was funny because it went wrong!) I laughed so much that my stomach muscles hurt. It's not about hitting the big time - there were people 60 or 70 years old who did it because they loved it. I discovered some really great music that I'd never heard before (some were original compositions but most were old classics). Sometimes they'd play a song that I used to love, but had completely forgotten about. Memories, man, so many great memories.
It doesn’t seem like the best idea to build a recording studio by a train track
Darren Li looks like they converted a house
It doesnt seem like the best idea to post the same comment twice
That’s the joke you twong
It’s almost as if that’s the entire joke
They needed somethin for the song to have a long, it kinda made it better, i think suspense is the word
The biggest takeaway from this movie is the incredible catalog of music The Beatles gave to us.
and they were only together for 8 years!
To Michael Jackson especially
@@fanofgodjimindiva2497They were famous for around 8 years but they had been together for over 10 years.
When given the option to change the lyric “she was just 17” he kept it
Paul was 19 or 20 when he wrote the lyrics. Relax

Scum bag Jack
@@amazingabby25 the age of consent in the UK is 16.
Yes, the Beatles absolutely still blow me away after 56 years listening to them.
I feel so lucky to have grown up listening to them when they were new!!!
😮
Beatles songs are timeless
💯
I love how this movie shows that no matter what era, the Beatles will always be loved
Same
i doubt that
The irony is the writer actually intended the opposite message, but the director felt otherwise, which results in the thematically muddled film.
I LOVED THIS SCENE. I Saw Her Standing There sounded amazing, along with all of the other songs. Himesh Patel really nailed them!
People critiquing this film don’t get the point of it. It’s a comedy - made for laughs. It’s not a drama or documentary to show what life would have been like without the Beatles. It’s a comedy showing that young people today still love the Beatles. It’s a comedy showing how the Beatles should never be forgotten.
“WhY dO tHinGs InSpIrEd bY thE BeAtLeS sTiLl ExCist?” - Everyone has done something but not known why they’ve done it. This is that on a massive scale.
“WhY dO a StUiDo bY a TrAiN TrAcK?” - 👏 it’s a comedy 👏
It was free because it was by a train track.
See I don't disagree, I went into this movie as a longtime Beatles fan. That being said, I think it was deeper than a simple comedy (unless you mean the traditional sense of a story with a happy ending).
Yes it's a romance between Jack and Ellie, but it is a story of how intense show business is. I could go on with all the great symbolism, but the message I got was you don't need to be the greatest or even have your name in lights to belong - all you need is love :)
I disagree. I think the message is that success is defined by what you feel inside, not by the view of the outside world and that therefore success not rightfully earned becomes a burden rather than a joy.
We need comedies with other bands that are even more important to be put in the limelight. Velvet underground, the doors, jimi hendrix deserve some love aswell
no one even thought it was supposed to be a drama or documentary.
@@allwordzaremadeup-voidz6229 - I sort of get you. My favorite band of the 60's was the Jefferson Airplane. But, to imply that The Beatles weren't the most influential or more important band from the last half of the 20th Century (for then & now) is a mistake.
I feel like 17 being released by an adult today would NOT go over well.
17 again sucked the first time i watched it. it was ok but i don’t care much for it. maybe if matthew perry had a larger role i would’ve thought better of it

In any parallel world, there would be nothing as great as The Beatles. This movie is a fitting tribute to the greatest band ever.
what if each parallel world gets to share in the greatness of the greatest, for any given moment
I dunno, The Funk Brothers have more recorded hits than The Beatles, Stones, and Elvis combined
@@soldierx345not true
@@sathira_anuk5179 it is actually, they were the band playing on almost every MoTown hit recorded.
I'm disappointed I was expecting the abbey road Medley
Boy, he’s gonna carry that weight
This was near the start of the film so I think his idea was to record the earlier Beatles stuff first, and then later he did more of the late 60s albums.
I love the whole cast. The love story for almost 2 hrs is one of the most hurting i've ever seen. Lily James played sooooo great.
1:20 Jacks face at being friend zoned!!!!
Tariq Kupferberg you do know it was the other way around.
@@bananacupkakes9344 Have you seen the movie?

Tariq Kupferberg so that jack could get jealous and get back with her. They even got married at the end of the movie
the music is good but part of what makes the beatles good is the chemistry you can feel, the way the voices sound, the little quirky things that made it into the song
You could say that these same elements made it into these recordings.
its also crazy that there are full studio versions of songs that are only implied in this movie. Hey Jude, Yesterday, she loves you, let it be, I saw her standing there, A hard days night, theres even a live recording of Back in the ussr

Ana DeArmas on the deleted scene :-)
she's prety much perfectly awesome..... except when she lets her insecurities get the best of her and doesn't give jack the chance to come to terms with his own insecurities.... which she takes as some kind of front to his feelings---- very messy and unnecessary but a nice result due to movie magic
This is the best scene in the movie. Brought so much joy

Fun fact the original lyrics was
"Well she was just 17 never been a beauty queen"
But john suggested "you know what i mean"
@@miguelmanzano3960 thanks - a prime example of John Lennon's lyrical genius
One of the most beautiful things about his movie is its actors are one big TH-cam "reaction video" to hit songs that they're hearing for the first time. To see the light (or tear) in the first time Beatles listener's eye, to relieve through others what we all felt when we first heard these songs: priceless.
Notice at 1:20 that Gavin winked asking if he has any other new songs. He also is shaking when he hires them and is so excited and will do anything to get in on it. My theory is that he knew all along and wanted the clout.
The Beatles, revolutionary, transcendental, thank you for all the beauty that you’ve bought into this universe :))

So convenient that the one person to remember the beatles had a gorgeous singing voice and could play multiple instruments
He wasn’t the only one there were a few others
Sian WJ yeah i had forgotten that when i commented, i just rewatched the film today
Gorgeous voice?
@@el34glo59 So glad I'm not alone in finding his singing astoundingly average. I'm p sure that's part of the premise, he's an everyman.

I really loved this movie, it was amazing!
I was saddened the other day thinking of how the Beatles, a group I spent over a half century enjoying, were fading away; I hope this movie turns a whole new generation on to them...
I get what you mean there, it's like The Shadows who've faded, only really known through Cliff Richard, top instrumental group who actually inspired The Beatles to an extent. George and John pretty much said, 'no Shadows no Beatles'. History.
I loved the Beatles when I was younger (I was born in 1997) but over the years it faded, this movie brought it back to life
What a fun concept. I thought of this back in 1964 when I was bloody 11 years old. Congratulations.
ONe of my favorite scenes - so much joy
I love how music makes amazing moments
I remember being a boy, during the 1st Beatles appearance on ED SULLIVAN!!! Immediately, all 74 million watchers! felt something so new, once said, like a new color.... a new world. How they did 300 great hits is amazing......
even in time travel... you're never the only one to make the trip.
be warned.
i like the way he says “jack malik is not the problem” its like music to my ears i replayed that part 8 times
This is a great way to see how different types of background sounds are created. 😁
Watching Lily getting caught up in these 3 songs was a microcosm of how "Beatlemania" worked its magic through the UK (and beyond) in the early 1960s
wow... i remember a sunday morn, at age 14 or so, hearing this...... i knew something BIG had changed everything!!!!!
I really like the cover of this album
I Want a complete version of The cover
So cool, can't wait to see it
Great idea for movie, very pure execution...
Imagine having a successful recording like this haha
The Beatles’ music was so good that it could have been done like this and still be successful.
When it said "Beatles Medley" I thought it'd be the Abbey Road medley and I couldn't recall seeing that scene in the film!
Great movie & voice
Love that movie
I love this scene
Plot twist. the Beatles also stole their songs from another alternate reality.
i like it
And who really knows? 🤷

que buena escena! mis 10 al director!!
It really would suck to live in a world where you're the only one who knows a band so big like The Beatles
I can't imagine a lot of the world would be the same if the beatles just vanished from existence.

God if i had a time machine.....id take it to 1960s Los Angeles/San Francisco/England/New York......and never look back....such a beautiful scene

A lot of people in the theaters came here for a love story. I only came because I love the Beatles.
literally NO ONE thought that. also this isnt a love story. Even when they got married I felt no chemistry. It feels like they are all just friends

I wanna hold your hand is my all time favorite
I watched this movie when it came out, and then again when Netflix put it on the site. Loved it both times. I thought this scene was interesting though, after rewatching the clip on TH-cam. As much as all three characters look like they're having a ball, I thought that when it panned to a shot of outside the house with him in the recording studio and the other two dancing in the next room, to me it looked like a metaphor for him being too involved in his music other than being involved in his friends lives. Obviously the end of movie proves this but this scene to me really foreshadows what's about to come.
Yeah, Himesh is a very good singer Music really transcends race, color and even religion ! Long live the Beatles ! Good work Mr. Patel. Have you heard the Reo Brothers from the Phils?
“One or two” dude literally is the only band with 10/10 100 songs

I actually had a thought, way before the film, of what would've happen if The Beatles, the world's most influential band, never existed.
I concluded that that title would've gone to another band instead like The Animals or The Who.
It's a shame that film failed to take the idea further.

It's just a movie, obviously the Beatles DID exist, so calm down. 🙂
If this man didn’t know how to play guitar this whole story would be screwed
Not necessarily, if he didn’t know the lyrics to the entire song then YES lol

Omg Rich!!!!
I have a theory that this movie after the accident is a fantasy in his head. Everything from that point goes entirely his way, and every obstacle is trivial for him to overcome. Even when he feels guilty for what he's been doing, people show up to tell him thank you for keeping the music alive. And even when he admits to the world what he's done, they love him even more. It all plays out exactly the way it would if someone were playing make-believe in their head.
You know none of these songs are better to the Beatles best song hey dude
That train in /out....lol
2:00 Meeting you is the best thing that ever happened to me.
I think that the Beatles phenomenon was more than the songs. The group itself made them who they were: their joke style, their carefree nature, their parrying with reporters, etc. As such, I'm not sure if the songs alone would have been as big as they were.
Loved This Movie L
Hey Dude!
1:24 “one or two”
Beatles? Who are the Beatles. What are they talking about. And what are that songs. They are nice!
They couldn’t go down this road for obvious reasons but it’s quite something to think that the Beatles’ respective solo career songs would have been up for grabs too…
Even though was like 500 Beatles songs he goes one or two left hahahaha
One of the best damn movies on the planet...
Just noticed the actor who plays Gavin was also Rich in skins season 3
I feel like back in 2019 it didn’t really stick with me the true story of the film but I think with being older after watching some scenes and the film a few times you understand the concept more and it feels a bit like a post apocalyptic story too with the world not knowing who the Beatles are and that you would be the only who knew and the world would feel quite creepy and alone in musical terms that no one ever knew the Beatles
It’s like a wall e kind of apocalyptic feel with that in mind.
i liked the movie but...i get how the blip could erase everyone's memories of the beatles, coke, cigarettes, harry potter...but how would it erase all the material already printed?
The blip changed reality, not just erase everyone's memories meaning the beatles never existed john and George never died too and coca cola and cigarettes were never invented
@Sarah Milo More like just Jack into an alternate reality.
Doesn't really matter in the grander scheme of the movie tbh haha
@@idkman728 no it does not...im just not sure how all the billboards, and current material just vanished. thats all

I haven't watched the whole movie, only clips that pop up in my recommended, but... can you think about how many of the bands and singers we love wouldn't have existed if the Beatles did not? Literally, British Musical Identity would not be a thing.
