Yes, the subtitles of the last five episodes have given me a bad headache. They were full of grossly misspelled words, missing subtitles (no subtitles even when the characters spoke), and absolutely ridiculous sentences. Anyway, I just manage to understand based on context clues. The show is absolutely marvelous!
You must understand, this series was on Netflix but not all episodes so the English translation was good, Netflix didn’t continue with it, I watch the rest of episodes here, so the person doing this translation should be appreciated, I understand the little frustration about the translation

I love watching these episodes and as a person who does not understand the language, the English subtitles helped a lot. But I'm sorry to say that the episodes from the mid twenties thus far (30th episode) is so poorly subtitled in English. The grammar is all wrong and most of the meaning is lost. It's a pity because this is such a powerful production with stellar performances from the entire cast

I like the fact, that the actors actually speak german. High detail. The german of the translator is broken and in parts grammatically not entirely correct, which fits the idea of a learned, second language. Great series, great work by all the people who worked on it.

Different historical context. We can not compare it to modern times and culture. First of all, Hurrem is a slave and Suleiman is the Sultan. Second of all, this is the Renaissance period. Women had less rights in general. (Especially slaves.) Third of all, the Sultan is Muslim. He does not have to be monogamous. He can have 4 wives and as many slave concubines as he wants. It's not considered cheating in this period and according to their customs. Honestly Suleiman had very few consorts. He was not like some Sultans who had almost 100 children with many different concubines. He was quite loyal to Hurrem by the standards of the times. Also, do not forget--- Western/European Kings were also cheating on their Queens- All the time. Except it was worse because their mistresses whole lives were destroyed and their children were declared illegitimate bastards. All the Sultans, children- even if their moms were slaves- were fully legitimate. This is why you can not compare apples to oranges. Both are fruit, but they are totally different texture and taste. :-)
Never forget this is a novelization, not a historical depiction. MC scriptwriter/s used historical figures, events on their fiction and that's all. Irl was completely different. But there are a lot of sources what you can check, to get pretty fine factual information.

But I'm sorry to say that the episodes from the mid twenties thus far (30th episode) is so poorly subtitled in English. The grammar is all wrong and most of the meaning is lost. Different historical context. We can not compare it to modern times and culture. First of all, Hurrem is a slave and Suleiman is the Sultan. Second of all, this is the Renaissance period. Women had less rights in general. (Especially slaves.) Third of all, the Sultan is Muslim. He does not have to be monogamous. He can have 4 wives and as many slave concubines as he wants. It's not considered cheating in this period and according to their customs. Honestly Suleiman had very few consorts. He was not like some Sultans who had almost 100 children with many different concubines. He was quite loyal to Hurrem by the standards of the times. Also, do not forget--- Western/European Kings were also cheating on their Queens- All the time. Except it was worse because their mistresses whole lives were destroyed and their children were declared illegitimate bastards. All the Sultans, children- even if their moms were slaves- were fully legitimate. This is why you can not compare apples to oranges. Both are fruit, but they are totally different texture and taste. :-)
Never forget this is a novelization, not a historical depiction. MC scriptwriter/s used historical figures, events on their fiction and that's all. Irl was completely different. But there are a lot of sources what you can check, to get pretty fine factual information.
