We in Punjab had similar roofs back in old before switching to RCC. These roofs kept the house cool
அருமை அருமை... சொல்ல வார்த்தைகளே இல்லை... மிக நாட்களாக தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன்... நல்ல விரிவான வீடியோவாக போட்டு விட்டீர்கள்... என் கனவு இல்லம் இப்படித்தான் கட்டப்போகின்றேன்.... இதுபோல வீடு கட்டினால் 4 தலைமுறைகள் வாழலாம் அவளவு பலம் பெற்றவை... இந்த கட்டுமானத்தில் திண்ணை, நடை, முற்றம், கூடம், வராந்தா, அடுப்படி.. என கட்டி, காரைக்குடி நிலைகள், தூண் ஜன்னல்கள், ஆத்தங்குடி டைல்ஸ், போட்டு கட்டினால் ஆஹா அதுவே சொர்க்கம்... இன்னும் நிறைய வீடியோக்கள் போடுங்கள், சாதாரணமாக வீடு கட்டுவதற்கும், இதுபோன்ற வீடு கட்டுவதற்கும் என்ன செலவு ஆகிறது? கட்டுமான செலவுகள் எப்படி, நடுத்தர குடும்பங்கள் இப்படி கட்டினால், செலவு குறையுமா? இதெல்லாம் கொஞ்சம் சொல்லுங்கள்... இன்னும் இதைப்பற்றி நிறைய வீடியோ போடுங்கள்...

Osm traditional roofing technology that stood the test of time and I lived in one such house in Triplicane Madras for 26+ years and currently wants to construct a house in Coimbatore with same methods. Do you arrange for one? What will be the cost of materials and labour for a roof of about 1000 sqft?
Without foundation pillar, how build limestone wall, and rooftop on limestone walls and how foundation base underground 6feet, and ground flooring with limestone sand.and is posible first upto floor building or more. Update video on request

Is this method of making roof is earthquake resistant ?
Can we use this roofing for room size of 30 feet x 20 feet? Since the span is large, can we use 14 inch steel beams as a replacement for wood rafters?

we can use it but structurally we need to check load transmission and quality of steel.

Its old construction practice. All old building in chennai around 200-250 years used same construction method for roofing.Roof is just partition membrane for a any building so you can do many floors using Madras terrace roofing technique.

@@dtdstudio3605 sir our house is ansistrors property around 100 years old Madras tached roof, need solution for slab leakage in the edges of roof can we use karakai, jagerry concoction as waterproof solution how to prepare it , neighbouring houses are built without leaving gap all the rain water will pour into our roof .

This is not eco-friendly. This is very expensive than RCC roof and very very heavy when compared with RCC.
Vanakkam sir, Eco-friendly construction actually means in terms of reducing the carbon foot print on the planet,giving a healthier space to live in and not reduction on paper money. Yes they are expensive as we need skilled artisans to make the roof. Madras terrace roofing technique is heavier, which helps in thermal insulation (keeping the indoor temperature less by 5 - 6 degree Celsius) and that is why their life span of Madras terrace roof is more than 200 years. The old buildings you see in and around Tami Nadu which are more than 300+ years have these roofing techniques. RCC in no where in comparison to these time tested techniques , as RCC will give you a lot of heat into the spaces and has very low thermal insulation.To make it precise,the life span of concrete slabs is not more than 70 years.Since Mardras terrace roofs are not been used by larger scale of people, they are expensive. Till 1970's, Madras terrace roofs were cheaper than RCC slabs.
