Thank you for pointing out the behaviours of the taxi people. A lot of tourists are 'taken for a ride', so you do need to be careful. As per Rick Steves' recommendation, we pre-booked George's Taxi. Yes, it is more money, but your price is guaranteed, the private driver is looking for you (with name card) and the quality of the car is top end. No games are played. Highly recommended. Spoil yourself - it's worth it.
I am really loving your channel! New subscriber! Heading to Greece tomorrow to take a cruise and your videos have been very helpful! From a fellow travel/cruise creator- keep the videos coming!
I am thrilled to have stumbled upon your video(s) and experiences. We are set to cruise (RC also) in mid-October in that area, and you've answered a lot of questions I had as well as saving us a god deal of $$ as it pertains to Athens, the Acropolis and how to get around.
Thanks for making these videos. My wife and I will be on Explorer of the Seas in October and we will be hitting most of the same ports. My wife and I have loved these and you guys seem a lot like more our speed. These are great. Thanks
I cried too when I first saw the Acropolis. I wasn't able to go up there, not well enough, but I saw it from our hotel restaurant & it was very moving. I couldn't believe that I was seeing it at last. Thank you for a great video.
The Taxie driver was not scamming you it does cost extra from airports/ports. Also you shouldn’t be scared of the taxi driver Greeks are not violent people.
The issue was he did not disclose the extra fee. Don’t misunderstand, we were not scared so much as disappointed the price suddenly “went up”. The fee should have been disclosed.
just saw your video. nice descriptions but i'll make some notces... 1st about the taxi cost: the driver should have told you that there is a legal and official extra charge from ports, train & bus station of 1 euro, that he should have added on his meter, if he didn't then yes it;s a scam and 2nd the rock that you visited @7:38 is the "areopagus". it's famous because it was the ancient court of Athens and even more famous because Apostle Paul gave a speech when he visited the ancient town

Isn't the structure you called Acopolis actually the Parthanon.
The Parthenon is a temple and the Acropolis is the hill the Parthenon is located. So the Acropolis is the encompassing term for the hill top.

If that’s the case, then why was the taxi journey on the meter? Why wasn’t there a fixed price beforehand?
did you have a stop in corfu
Unfortunately no
