Tip : try to keep the melody on the notes of chord for like 70-80% of time and try passing notes for a bit change .

I come from Rock, Blues and Jazz background. I got interested in electronic lately, particularly Synthwave and Chiptune Rock, and I have to say that I have the polar opposite problem: I have the tendency to do very complexes melodies all the time. Someone looks the other way around, and I just appear with a 3-minute keyboard solo or something. Fact is, simplicity and silence are part of the music too, and that is something I'm particularly trying to add in my more recent songs.

I always use this method also while doing some funky random notes that sounds good. Some of my songs also switch through keys rapidly. They're really cool. 13Js on soundcloud btw.

Guys I’ll save you a lot of time and effort! Plain and simple if you have an ear for music production then u’ll know exactly where the next note should be cuz you have it playing in ur head and u’ll realize right away if there’s an off note from the sound of it! You just need to learn how to use a decent DAW! That’s in terms of making melodies but all the other technical stuff yeah a teacher like Alex would definitely benefit you!
