Bottle of wine "... If it's a little bit hard for you, pour a glass for yourself and the rest goes in" 🤣🤣🤣 love it
I made this yesterday!! Absolutely fantastic. Although, I may have drank more than one glass of wine.... :) Only thing I will do different next time is give the garlic a rough smash before. I find it opens up the flavor even more. Thanks so much!

You are SO wonderful, Jamie!!
Hi Jamie and thank you so much for all your great recipes you share with the world. I made this brisket today and wow, I am seriously so amazed on how it came out, just delicious, very tender and full of flavor!! And the best part is that it was very simple to make. Toda raba!!
Wonderful! So happy to hear this.
I didn't know what brisket was until I spent some time in Texas. In my home state, brisket seems to be unknown. I can't find it anywhere. It's a shame too, brisket is delicious.
Supposably a brisket is a cheap cut of beef but go in the grocery stores 30 bucks for one you are right Texas has some of the best
Love your energy. From France 🇫🇷
Very good, enjoy watching you cook, and all the classics, thank you
Brisket is actually pretty easy to make, it just takes forever and a lot of love. 💗
Totally!
Jamie I just made this and it is super tender, it's baby tender. You are the queen of cooking. So good
I love your pots and plates and your kitchen decor.
Making this today. Only changes were I used dates instead of figs. Sure is smelling good. Now all I have to do is think of sides. Thank you Jamie.
enjoy
OKAY - NOT JEWISH HERE. Actually Pakistani. BUT I wanted to give a nod to Hanukkah this holiday season and I tried your recipe!!! OMG MISS GELLAR THAT WAS SPECTACULAR!!!!!
Wow, thanks so much, so glad you liked it, now you will have to try some more of our Jewish classics.
@@jamiegeller will do! These desserts look incredible!
Looks amazing! What temprature should you use?
😍 im not Jewish, but you gave me a crazy idea to marinate this with wine and aromatics like I do my bourguignon , thank you look super delicious 😋
Yup, you will love it.
Saved video for later to cook. All looks so good. Awesome. Thank you.
☺👍
She said cook it low and slow for 4 hours... what temperature is Low? Oh... just saw the link, thanks! Wonderful production quality and a great recipe!
Yes, thanks
🔪 Thanks for sharing this recipe with your viewers ! 🍴. 👍
Looks good, thanks, I
will have to try this
Just Wonderful!!-- Great tate too.
Love this recipe. Toda!
This recipe was amazing. tried it with brisket but I’m wondering would try tip work with this recipe too
Now that’s a recipe I’m going to follow oh yeah !
Hope you enjoy
wonderful!!! Q: what would you recommend to put in instead of chicken broth? I live in Israel, and I don't think you can find that in regular stores here... (can you?) What would you recommend to put in instead? Water? Apple juice? Orange juice? Thanks! I'm learning a lot from you!
You should be able to find it everywhere. Make your own broth with bullion if you can't. It's usually 1 cube to 8 ounces of water.
Went and got some brisket, absolutely fantastic, will never cook beef any other way ,your husband is lucky to have you ,
Thanks so much

You need to do a cooking program in
England it will open people eyes up with the great food and the Jewish community, it’s all about breaking down barriers and educating the ignorant.
Fantastic recipe come out looking really delicious 😋 love your channel
Jamie, I made this for Pesach 2018 and it was fantastic. What do you think this recipe would do with other cuts of beef?
Just found you and love you! For this brisket recipe, how many people does it serve?
I ended this video quickly, absolutely no fat layer left on the brisket. Wasn't done that way in my parents' Jewish home...
Thank you. I cannot wait to make this tomorrow yummmmmm
Could you please help me with the knife brand?
Where did you get a brisket that beautiful? And kosh?
Now thats a nice cut and cooked right. TY for sharing.
What type of oil do you use? Is white wine or red wine best to use
You made everything perfect.
But you tasted the gravy from using ladel and straight back to the pot to scoop some gravey using the same ladel 😮
Très bonne recette jai essayer un délice
Looks great!
Merlot, cab, granache or only kosher red wine? No Mogen David or Mannishevitz, nu? Do tannins and sugar matter much? How do you get your brisket so moist without sealing the pan tightly? In my roasting pan, it takes 6 hours at 320° F. The wine would make me sleepy and make me over cook my end cut. Btw, you look great since the baby 🍼.
What temp for the oven?
What temperature is the oven?
Thank you for your recipe, now, how can I adjust this recipe for a slow cooker?
Like most recipes where they are braising follow all the instructions up until when they put it in the oven. Instead of putting it in the oven put it in your slow cooker. So, sear the meat and transfer to the slow cooker, sautee your aromatics, add the liquid to deglaze and bring to a boil then add to the slow cooker. Cook it on low until fork tender. I also like to skim fat as it's cooking, but you can do after as well.
is that really 13lbs of meat in this video? it looks like half of a whole brisket. I am just concerned that halving this recipe will yield very little sauce for the meat. so I was going to make all the sauce for a 6lb piece. What do you think?
Personally, I would liquidise the onions and dates in that sauce, strain it to ensure there are no "bits", and then heat it until you get a the creamy consistency you like.
BTW I usually soak dried fruit first to get rid of some of the sugary taste.....but then I am British. Any dried fruit would do for this particular recipe.
Looks delicious!
Doing my conversion process I failed at this 2x. I’m going to try your way now !
Yes, you can do it
In the over now! Happy holidays
Ms. Geller, what if you don't have a large pan like yours?
You can make a smaller brisket or use a large disposable tin
Thanks for sharing that delicious brisket 😍🇮🇱.
You are so welcome, let us know if you make it and how it comes out.
@@jamiegeller is this kosher for passover ,I have no experience with passover
Did I miss the oven temperature? What temp did you use for your 4 hour roast?
It's all written out here jamiegeller.com/recipes/braised-brisket-with-dates-and-red-wine/
@@jamiegeller Why would you not tell us the temperature you cooked at? Did you forget? Very unhelpful really.
Andrew Leung: Her reply gave MORE information than was asked for. I found it to be extremely helpful. Relax, dude.
Love you jamie
For the brisket...what size is your pan and what temperature do you bake the meat in the oven
You can use a 5-6qt Dutch oven and I cook it at 320F you can find the full recipe jamiegeller.com/recipes/braised-brisket-with-dates-and-red-wine/
I really want some
No mention of temperature??
I want to try this one soon
so nice!
What can you replace the wine with?
What if I want to prepare the day before and reheat?
It reheats well
How about using ghee or clarified butter instead of veritable oil?
We keep kosher so we can't use dairy or butter in a meat recipe.
Please tell me is that wine Alchohal
I live in France. What is brisket in French?
i Just Made a brisket this weekend it was 18pds took 6 hours per cut im edited this it was like carrying 3 triplets

It boggles my mind why cooks use chicken broth when cooking beef. Looking for more flavour? Use Beef Broth or Beef bouillon cubes = Amazing Beef Flavour!
For sure, totally agree, it's just not always on hand.
The problem is that beef broth from the store isn't very good compared to chicken broth: chickens are cheap to process, cows are not, so the stuff from the store often has about an ounce of beef per litre of water. Not exactly 'amazing' flavor. And homemade beef broth is a lot more complicated to make than homemade chicken stock. So we use chicken broth from the store as it tastes better.
I have made beef stock and I have used all the tricks, carrots herbs etc. The thing is that beef bones dont have a nice flavour on their own so you need to mix in chicken bones unless you are working with veal bones and they can be hard to get as the restaurants want them and very costly.
My wife made brisket for our evening meal tonight, she ground up several spices and patted the brisket dry with paper towels, she then rubbed the brisket with the spices and it sat in the refrigerator for 24 hours before putting in the oven, four hours later and it was superb.
What spices and at what temperature did you cook it?
where is the fat cap?
Yum!😊
yummy!!!
Thank you? Do you ever get hair in your food?
Impressive seam butchery! But maybe leave a quarter inch of the fat cap on there next time? There are no calories on Shabbat
How large is your braiser pan?
ה ישמור!
There is a point and the flat. Those are the brisket cuts. And as for actually cooking it, the best recipe is salt and pepper and smoked with oak wood chunks for a minimum of 9 hours. Cover at 160 °f and remove at 190 to 200. That's it. Anything else isn't brisket.
Full disclosure, I'm a Texan.
how long did you cool it before slicing, one day or two ? fake
How can I replace Alcohol?
Just use broth
Slow cooker Jewish beef brisket
Best to use a separate spoon to taste test.
Just watched your cooking program,then
Hi, investigating how to braise brisket. Nice video, one too… pinching off chef’s prize is ok. Do your guests a favor though and not sip the liquid from the ladle and continue to use it. To test for salt, get a clean spoon from the drawer, scoop the sauce and taste, and toss the spoon in the sink. Just say’in…
Where are the onions?????
HEY JOY OF Isreal I saw the show with Master Chef Was Greatut Whats with the Nun I thought I was Back in Catholic School Happy New year
buying a whole brisket gives you tender melt in your wouth meat how?
It cooks best that way, but of course the real secret is low and slow.
Brisket is hardly economy cut! Not any more.
My very rich kosher dad wants to know if you’re single.
hope it is as good as my bubbe's
Me too
@@jamiegeller it was : )
I DONT LIKE MIXING chicken broth it's ok but just beef taste is beef broth ok I've done that it but loses beef flavorand being from Texas Beef Only!
Wish I was Jewish
DO WANT
That's a huge chunk of meat. I'd have nothing but brisket for a week if I cooked this.
I don't see anything wrong with that, but it also does freeze really well and there are lots of ways to repurpose brisket into other dishes as well, so it will come in handy.
My husband is thrilled when that happens
You are so sweet
Please don’t put the seared meat on paper towels, you want to add the juices that come out of brisket back into the pot.
Good point!
Anyone else here because of the big bang theory???
What's the connection?
Its a tv series and one of the main charecters howard, his mother cooks it a lot. Thanks for showing me how to make it, im a 13 year old born and still living in Scotland so I've never tried it, but always wanted to try it because of the show.

Sanitary much? You can't taste from the ladle and use the same ladle to pour the braising liquid. sanitary 101
