Tempting... I also have a 2012 SK1.. Had the ecu flashed, Arrow evo2 exhaust and rear sprocket changed +1. It absolutely rips your arms out of your shoulders! I might upgrade. Looking forward to the litre class shoot out.
its a beast just got one after moving on from my zx10r 2012 which was a good bike as well good thing about the bmw is you get all the toys with the performance package mines has oz wheels turns in so quick
Adam Waheed makes the best review videos, keeps it 100%. Looks like BMW still needs to do further refining of the S1000rr, the new 2015 R1 seems to be at the top of the heap so far. I look forward to the shootout for the 2015 bikes.
Itube At least it's an improvement on the previous version. Bike manufacturers don't care much about the exhaust because most people get an aftermarket replacement. I wonder about the tail section of bikes though and why virtually every bike needs a fender eliminator/tail tidy. Why do manufacturers spend money on that extra piece of plastic that is useless, makes the bike look worse and virtually everyone removes?
gurbash washere It's weird when at the same time they offer a tail tidy, which everyone gets. As for the exhaust, I thought aftermarket exhausts were an improvement?
Future Proof i forgot to add, everything people replace on a bike because it's ugly, it's probably because of the regulations. yamaha probably mass produced the tail end with a design that passes regulations everywhere, should yamaha offer a tail tidy maybe it's exclusively in your country because of different regulations in other countries. also the exhaust is made that way because of the same reason, regulations(and sometimes manufacturing costs). from what i know, it's hard to beat the cost:performance ratios of the stock exhausts (with baffles, cats etc.).
I think you are by far the best "official" motorbike tester/journalist i have seen on youtube. Good explanations about the pros and cons of the bike in such a short time. Now I wait eagerly for a superbike test, which online motorbike magazine will be first out with the test, or have the best one? :D
Motorcycle USA, awesome review! Were the false neutrals a result of using the blipper at a certain RPM range or throttle position, or is it fairly independent of both of those?
Not really sure. I thought perhaps it was because my foot was close to the shifter or hanging onto it, but it wasn't. I think the issue lies in that the electronics don't elevate the throttle enough. It's too small of a rpm blip to free the transmission and let it move into the next cog...
Hen zo hahaha thank you sweet heart ❤❤❤ but don't treat girls like that.. if you don't want troubles with gold diggers.. cheers 😘 p.s. ENJOY YOUR AMAZING NEW BIKE!! I'm so jealous.. 😊😊😊
Looking forward to the shootout, although I guess the Aprilia update is going to miss out as it's really a 2016 model. Still, the Panigale 1299, BMW S 1000 RR and Yamaha R1(M) are enough to make it interesting. A Kawasaki H2 thrown into the mix as a oddball entry would up the ante as well. Where'd your Ducati Multistrada DVT ride review from Lanzarote get to Adam Waheed?
+Marksman2oo7 haha, it's not THAT bad. I'll trade in mine in a few months. They are really minor differences unless you are the kind of guy that buys a new bike every year.
HelloMrTaylor i mean, i'm getting a 2010 next week but i'm so jealous of that cruise control and the electronics that now come standard. but i'm only paying 10k for mine :b
TheCowGoesMoo o BMW greatly dislikes symmetry on its bikes. If you noticed the ferrings on the opposite sides are different. One is a hole, while the other side has gills.
although im rather new on a bike the dealer let me take a ride on one of those while he was doing maintince on my own bike.....holy f... it was unreal - - a week later I still have a stupid grin on my face :-)
Hello Adam, I am very surprised about your comment on bike's gear engagement feel. Germans are known for their precision on this kind of things. In german vehicles you normally have that click sound telling you that the button is pushed, the handle is in it's place, the key is on etc.... I would like to try it once to see how it reacts. About wheelie control i'm wondering if you are not too light for the power of this bike? Maybe that's why it wants to flip up. I also have a question for you. I saw that your suit combination is customized by Dainese with your name. Did you contact them personally and asked them to do it for you? Do they have a web site so you could design your personal suit with your logos and everything? Great review as always Thanks and ride safe
+ehsan83 - A few months later, during the superbike shootout, the BMW didn't exhibit the gearbox condition I had mentioned in this test. In fact, it functioned perfectly. So I assume it was some kind of electronic, or perhaps setting gremlin. As far as the wheelie control goes, read my S1000RR articles on MotoUSA.com and you will get some more insight there. The suit I am wearing is part of Daniese's Made to Measure program. Find out more here >> www.motorcycle-usa.com/2015/03/article/2015-bmw-s1000rr-first-ride/
why most road reviews are the normal guys who ride these on the road and track like myself moto usa nice dry track and slicks try knockhill scotland rains twenty four seven
+Cpt Fubar The F800 is boring and slow compared to something like a Triumph 675 or an R6. I love my S1000RR, but if they didn't make this I would ride another manufacturer.
Sure, don't touch on the cruise control and heated grips. First on a sport bike. Game changer for those who are serious about the "sport" aspect of sport touring.
Great bit of kit. Don't think a 1st gen R1 will be refined enough or have that top end poke to take the cake this year. But I'm sure the yamaha pockets will pay their way to get what they want in terms of reviews....
If you're serious I can think of two possibilities: If the bike is brand new it likely has a rev limiter (around 8,000 rpm) that will be removed by the dealer after its 600 mile break-in service. If you already have had that done, follow M2056's suggestion to check the mode. The Rain mode is designed to be "underpowered." If it's neither of those things, you'd best get it checked out because this bike is anything but underpowered.
IMO the problem with the big power superbikes is the short wheelbase needed for quick transitional handling. Great for handling but difficult to use all that power because the front wheel won't stay on the ground. Electronic wheelie control simply backs off the power for you, so what is the point of all that power in the first place? What if there are no race-tracks near you?
you can easily turn the anti-wheelie off. and it's not hard to control the bike, you just gotta learn the clutch. or you can turn it off and be a crazy wheelie hooligan :D
David Visser I figure that when it comes to the point that there is so much power to the rear wheel that the little contact patch is easily overwhelmed, then the hp race is over. On public roads one has to contend with 'stunt riding' laws where police can seize your motorcycle as well as your points. My wheelie-happy modified (400 lbs gassed up) little Triumph 675 STR is so fast and handles so well I cannot find its limits on public roads; I lost 5 pts just rolling on the throttle in top gear on the highway last year. -Actually the emphasis these days is now on light weight (sub-400lbs) and fine handling not the hp race. Honda's super expensive RC213V-S has only 101 hp in the USA (214 hp in race kit) but is considered the finest handling street bike in the world.
I think they used 2 engineers, one for the left side of the bike and one for the right lol, i love all bikes but bmw can not make a good looking bike (rides good though), but we all like different things.
its ridiculous to buy a motobike like this in the USA when max speed is ridiculous 88 km/h, come over to Germany and go for a ride on the Autobahn without a speed limit
If I may paraphrase your review to those who might buy this bike over another. You can't really use the power in the engine due to the tendency to wheelie. I believe this is a major fault. I believe there are other makes that don't have this problem
I love this bike but I wish BMW made a 600cc version as well. Even experienced, sometimes you just don't need that much power for an everyday commuter.
nah, a litre bike isnt gonna kill you when commuting, and especially S1000rr's are actually very comfortable when commuting and travelling. and the power is very easy to control
This bike gives me goosebumps....so beautiful.
Tempting... I also have a 2012 SK1.. Had the ecu flashed, Arrow evo2 exhaust and rear sprocket changed +1. It absolutely rips your arms out of your shoulders! I might upgrade. Looking forward to the litre class shoot out.
This is one of my favorite superbikes
I think the S1000RR is a wonderful bike!
best looking, best super sport performance machine and those technologies are just amazing.

I'm just wondering. Did they intentionally make the exhaust ugly?
I think it looks cool-- sounds the part, too.
Future Proof really? they make the tail end because of regulations.
and the exhaust is engineered to be at the same phase with the engine.
gurbash washere It's weird when at the same time they offer a tail tidy, which everyone gets.
As for the exhaust, I thought aftermarket exhausts were an improvement?
Future Proof i forgot to add, everything people replace on a bike because it's ugly, it's probably because of the regulations.

15/16 s1KRR pick of the bunch 👊
s1000 is king of road
I love bikes
what jacket are you wearing here? and pants
I had talked myself out of this. Now I have to do it again.

Adam Waheed is there how to reverse shift on the 2015 model ?? All the superbikes and SS should be reversible without any changes
Thank you for your honest review
Nah, the blipper works fantastic and the wheelie control is superb! Lets it go up a bit and doesn't just cut the power and smash it down like others.
I good honest review, I always look forward to Adam's reviews.
I love this bike
Mission Impossible brought me here
BEST S1000RR 2015

Absolutely beautiful wicked---
I had the 2012 model and loved it. Having autoblip is like riding a scooter almost. And your riding kinda crossed up adam.
Any word on the 2016 fireblade??
Prentious.
Just passed my nursing boards... Tracking out my gixxer and gonna get one of these fosho.

BeaglePower G I have a 2014 with everything and all the 2015s are making me jealous...

HelloMrTaylor i mean, i'm getting a 2010 next week but i'm so jealous of that cruise control and the electronics that now come standard. but i'm only paying 10k for mine :b
So what's the reasoning for the headlights
TheCowGoesMoo o BMW greatly dislikes symmetry on its bikes. If you noticed the ferrings on the opposite sides are different. One is a hole, while the other side has gills.
Tail light is nice, though!
Headlights are made like that to make the bike lighter
Weight

Like many here, I think it will be interesting to see how the new R1 measures up to the 2015 S1000RR.
Is that Corner ABS like Pani 1299?? thanks
Abs pro
Yes
Do you race in isle of amn TT?? @Adam
+Hemanth Amar Man*
What an awesome machine. Now if only BMW would make a middleweight sportbike, an S800RR perhaps..
+Avi Mistry F800 look it up
+Cpt Fubar The F800 is boring and slow compared to something like a Triumph 675 or an R6. I love my S1000RR, but if they didn't make this I would ride another manufacturer.
I want to see the 2015 BMW S100RR VS Kawasaki H2R
Circuit of the Americas yeaaah
Ocd people might not like the headlights aha
bagus e, mau juga punya motor sport BMW.
bro i am a beginner...so what should i start with?
A 1000cc fuck what everybody says
+alienware2777 sure not with this. look for single R
Ninja 250.
Or turbo 'Busa.
How tall are you , what inseam do you measure, how dose it fit you?
Im about 170 cm with an inseam of about 30 hate to be short.
Greetings from Sweden
I think you need it lowered a bit. Iam 180 and I think 10 cm less, and I would need a sports bike lowered. Check: Cycle-ergo.com :-)
Sure, don't touch on the cruise control and heated grips. First on a sport bike. Game changer for those who are serious about the "sport" aspect of sport touring.
a very fast moto!!!!!
Great bit of kit. Don't think a 1st gen R1 will be refined enough or have that top end poke to take the cake this year. But I'm sure the yamaha pockets will pay their way to get what they want in terms of reviews....
The best superbike and a 3 year factory warranty!!!!
Sick
what helmet is he wearing?
+Henry Ordonez I was wearing a Corsa helmet by AGV in the White/Black/Blue colorway... Adam
so its visceral?, i didn't hear that clear like for the 5th time.
+Nacho Miranda Yeah, is um, visceral.
That wreck at the end!
everyone makes mistakes.
TRUE.
This bike can downshift using the quickshifter?! I am sold on that feature alone!
Yea I bought this bike and it's the best feature on it
Blipper
My first favorite is the cbr1000rr
When you have a Formula 1 division as part of your company endeavors, building a motorcycle that has this kind of power is rather academic.
my 2016 s1000rr feels underpowered as shit i dont know if it has anything to do with the electronics traction control and wheelie control
If you're serious I can think of two possibilities:

the red one, and I'll make it looks like deadpool
Fabio Tran can you imagine that? it would be badass bike isn't it?
Fabio Tran yeah, some people think this bike is ugly, but i love this bike so much, and the highlight make this bike so unique
1:21 Ohhh yes, I can feel it ;)
I like the shift options, don't like the front end look!!!! I love my 2011.. if i get another bike it would be the R1.
nice!
Thank you for not dicksuckin BMW S1000rr like every other review!
You didn't have enough time on the bike because you crashed it.

What a fucking sexy bike. I'd pass a real fuck for a ride with this beast. Thats how much I like it.
Good job Potato Mic. Feedback for days.
I hate the headlights
The bike is fine. I just think if he grows his undercut hair longer, he would look very much like motolady USA lol
I think they used 2 engineers, one for the left side of the bike and one for the right lol,

Greatest pronunciation of "linear" I've ever heard... *laugh*
He said it with a weird upward inflection but it didn't sound wrong to me. How do you pronounce it?
lin-eee-ar... not lin-ear
***** That's what he said isn't it? Sounded like "lin-ee-er" to me.
lin..... ear.... I just posted it for a laugh. Not worth analyzing.
+Matlock Wallace get a life

my god i wish i could own this bike, but I would also probably get myself killed lol
Begs the question...why not enough laps????
Well atleast its fast lol

In your dreams it might bahhahhaha
I'm a massive bmw fan boy but i just can't get over how hideous that exhaust is, they need to shorten it by half and/or lower it.
oh so this is the one which got crushed by the Yamaha 2015 r1
the other way around, check the shootout
dolphin
I can't stand that headlight design...
seriously all these electronics makes riders worse
Umm no
+Knasfur In some elite riders hands, this is true.
bmw s1000rr is actually a suzuki 1000
are you high?

A Gen I ZX-10R would stomp this bike on the track.
Umm no
+Foxxtrott1100 Yeah right.
