    I just bought 2 of these. Absolutely fantastic. Perfect blend of fruity and malty, and goes down very easy.

    Arran 10yo really surprised me.
    It was even better than Balvenie 12 doublewood & GlenDronach 12 for me.
    So sweet.

    Arran 10 is my go-to affordable simple single malt for easy drinking. The previous design was 46% as well, also no chill filteration and no colour added.

    Thank you Ben, for the reminder: your mood when tasting affects the taste just as much as any of the other factors : )

    • @David4.14
      @David4.14 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes but objectively your mood has nothing to do with how good the whisky is to your palate. A good dram can cure almost any ailes.

    An old timer's tip: As a rule of thumb, and with occasional exceptions, when a new expression, or label, or bottling, is first released producers tend to put their best foot forward. It's not unusual for the new presentation to offer better casks or older malt than advertised. They will settle down to a more predictable and expected bottling in subsequent editions. I've seen this many times. It's not something you can count on for certain, but it is not unusual at all for a new design to be exceptionally good when it is first introduced.

      2011 Port Charlotte Islay Barley Heavily Peated vs. Port Charlotte Islay Barley Heavily Peated 10 (2021 bottling)
      3-4 farms vs. 19 farms for grain

      @@michaelcharlesthearchangel There you go!
      But at least with vintage dated bottles you know what (or _when)_ you're getting. Those that persist with just generic names (Talisker Storm, Laphroaig Quarter Cask, etc.) will tend to show the most variation over time, IMO.

    Not much sherry but definitely honey, pineapple, honeydew ..nose translates to the palette.. goes great with touch a of water .. compared this with Aberlour 12 from speyside.. that is very much sherry vanilla and all spice ! Two different malts but .. the Arran 10 is smoother compared to the Aberlour 12 ! It’s cheaper and non chill filtered ! Great buy !

      Believe its aged in bourbon casks for 10 years, then moved to sherry casks for 6 months.
