I think this one is the most accurate to what we have in the lab, and it was a good trick into pressing on the bulb prior to applying it on the pipette and to also have that index finger ready to keep solution inside the pipetter. My lab professor told us to slight circle around the tip to slowly control the release of excess solution.
I have so much trouble slowly adjusting the damn meniscus to get to the mark. Can anyone recommend footage on how to properly seal the top of the pipette and slowly drop the meniscus?
If the pipette contains a substance that irritates the skin then when acclimatizing the pipette how does one seal the open end or is it safe to use one's finger as the amount of contact is so small ? Can I safely use my finger for say dilute sulphuric acid ?
In India we use our mouths. I sucked the solution mixed with dil sulphuric acid and salt into my mouth many times and I was asked to gargle with water but I am still alive and kicking!
There are different types. This is a drain-out type pipette. It is designed and calibrated to be drained without applying pressure and retain some liquid. Some types of pipettes are blow-out type pipettes, they are designed and calibrated to be emptied completely.

Could you describe how to slightly circle around the tip, I just keep failing to drop the water level slowly.😢
Thank you so much, after one week I am having my practicals and was worried. This helped a lot♥️
Y'all have pipette bulbs?! We need to use our mouths, wtf

I even ask someone else to do it for me in the lab
My mouth is my pipette bulb.
We have to suck with mouth..we aren't provided with pipette bulbs 😟
medical centers could neeverrrr anymore.
everyone sucks with mouth. What's new?
i find mouth pipetting easier for some reason.
You can use any nose aspirators though🤷🏼♂️
I really want to see how he released his middle finger
How do you lose your index finger? When i do it, it goes a lot below the line😥
rip
That also happens in my case, I keep my finger little wet to overcome the issue.

use chemical resistant glove!
That's why PPE exists; always wear chemical resistant gloves when doing any experiments
