- Games are notorious for 2 things in the after market. 1) Completely bottoming out in value and being worth absolutely nothing (which is great for me, then I can buy loads of good games on the cheap!) and 2) Becoming obscenely expensive whether due to small print runs or massive popularity long after new prints are being made (Earthbound)
1 thing is for certain however, no matter how you go about your collecting you'll never be able to gauge with certainty what will happen to a games value. Limited run games for example seem like a sure-fire thing to only appreciate in value, yet the vast majority of their releases hardly budged from their launch price, yet that unassuming horror game or weird anime game that each store only got 1 copy of, or that 1 game that sold really well but stayed popular for decades and nobody wanted to sell their copy... THAT may go up.
Any-who, this is my list of the most expensive games in my collection according to dubious sources. This is also the patreon requested video for August.

My only semi-expensive game is Haunting Ground mint condition. Good video dude.
I think that Odin Sphere went down in value because of the fantastic Remake of that game. For the PS2, it's still a fantastic game. This was a fun video to watch. Keep up the good work. My favorite games in your collection are definitely the ones from the Xenosaga trilogy.

By far my most expensive game is Solatorobo: Red the Hunter on DS. Bought it New w/ CD for $14 USD on Amazon and now it's bouncing around $250-400 for a new release, and almost always above $200 for CiB. I got my copy signed this last AnimeExpo, and I shudder to think how much it'd be worth now.

That's an Impressive collection sir. I think the only full game Collection i'm close to getting is Suikoden, and I still need to find 2 and Genso Card Stories for that. Which will be near Impossible.

Awesome vid dude. Probably the most expensive games I have are 2 Castlevania DS games (still gotta get portraits of ruin) and the Dragon Quest DS games. Finding number VI In South Africa where I live was pure luck

Legit collection dude. Fantastic video as always. Fire Emblem seems to be a go to for games that retain value more than any other series. Weird..
Mostly just because of how unpopular the series was prior to Awakening releasing. They're all fairly uncommon games. Titles like 3 houses probably won't retain value at all.
If I recall correctly, _Stella Glow_ was the last title produced by the studio before they shutdown. That at least puts it in a relatively unique position that can see the value of the releases go up.
Overall, you pulled a few titles that I've got in my collection and I'm usually reasonably pleased to see PS2 era stuff holding some value with a few stand out titles, like _Haunting Ground_ really going up in price over the past few years as PS2 collection ramps up. I tend to enjoy browsing the various local second hand stores and randomly adding stuff to my collection. Never really set out to build a collection, I just kept everything over the years and overall, a quick glance leaves me feeling pretty good. Even some of the random "junk" I've picked up like _Mega Man X5_ seems to go for several times what I picked it up for.
Yeah, that studios shut down. I done a video on Imageepoch a while back as their closure was an incredibly strange situation. As for Stella Glow, distribution rights in NA belong to Altus but I doubt they're planning any re-release on it.
For PS4 Danganronpa 1.2 Reloaded and Ys VIII will be expenses. They already are going upwards of 80 to 120 USD
I pre-ordered Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA for Vita for €29,99 before it released. When I went to pick it up, the store jacked up the price to €49,99 which I thought was unfair and uncalled for, so I skipped it. Now, I cannot find it anywhere anymore for a decent price... :(

My most valuable games are Suikoden 2, Tales of Destiny 2, and Wild Arms Code F. I would been rolling in rare games but I have made horrible choices in my life haha. I traded in a ton of rare Playstation RPGs at Gamestop for next to no money. But what was worse is I owned every single RPG complete in box for the SNES and lent them to my friend who sold them for 60 bucks worth of drugs sigh. Yep thats Chrono Trigger and Earthbound in the big box with the strategy guide all sold for a bit of cocaine wtf.

Lots of great stuff here. Personally, I still have quite a few JRPG's that I am looking to add to my collection. Mostly for PS3, PSVita and PS4, but also 3DS and Switch. Definitely be on the lookout for some of the interesting Asian English releases for that last system.
Also, what I think are some versions that will become expensive or sought after are compilations. For PS3, for instance, I own the Hyperdimension Neptunia Hypercollection, Disgaea Triple Play Collection and the Atelier Arland Trilogy, as well as compilation-discs that bundle Tales of Symphonia Chronicles together with Tales of Graces f and Tales of Xillia with Tales of Xillia 2.
The games themselves might not be rare, but the specific releases I am speaking of are uncommon.
Also... are you perhaps interested in a sealed European PSP copy of 'Elminage Original?' :)
I have a feeling that most older Atelier games (Especially the trilogy packs) are going to go up in value. Ryza seems to have put the series on a lot of new radars.
As per Elminage, I don't really collect sealed games so it would kind of be wasted on me. I wouldn't leave it sealed for too long, though I appreciate the offer :P
If I could go back in time and tell my younger self anything, it would be something along the lines if trying to track down more games sooner or at least whenever they came out.

If I'm being honest I've been wondering about it for a while since I first discovered the channel last year, but how do you usually go about organizing your games? Is there a certain order for like which consoles you have the games ordered in?
Xeno saga 3 is around 50 to 60. The 80 dollar version has a holographic slip in on the front cover. You have an awesome collection. I will be keeping an eye out for the fatal frame game on the wii u but I doubt I'll buy it for that price lol.

My 3 most expensive games are on PS4, a sealed copy of Gryphon Knight Epic ($285.00) and a sealed copy of Tamashii ($805.00). PSVita, a sealed copy of Breach and Clear ($310.00). Still looking to buy more.

I have 10 copies of Madden 2014 and FIFA Soccer 2017. They are all worth about 35 cents each...I'm sure they will be shooting up in value any day now
kinda makes me want to get into collecting. If I can get games cheaper than I'd get for a brand new game, then I'm happy.
Most expensive physical gane i own is Shadow Warrior 2. Burned $140 on it. Absolutely worth it. Came with the first game as well, and they are honestly amongst the best shooters I've ever played. Other than that I own Astebreed, and come November, Doom Eternals Collectors edition
Castlevania Bloodlines is my favorite Castlevania game after Dracula's Curse...I just traded for the cardboard box variant CIB (bloodlines)... Currently looking for the hard case lol
And I bought Trails of Coldsteel 1 for PS3 for like 10$ in 2019.

I bought my Bayonetta Non Stop Climax Edition for the switch for around USD130 at launch (largely because it’s the only way to get a physical version of Bayonetta 1 for the switch). Now it costs around USD400. Holy heck. @_@

Do you have The Last Story on Wii? That one has gone up in price significantly few years back. Both regular and "kollector's" editions.

54 USD. Not quite a heavy hitter, especially considering that's new-in-box. Complete price is 38 bucks. I own the game. Its a little below what I'd consider for the video.

Yeah, don't just look at "Available listings." They're still available because they're priced too high. Nobody is willing to buy at those prices. Instead, go to the "Advanced" tab, and check off the box to show "Sold listings."
That will show you a history of sales on the game and allow you to better gauge its actual value. At the end of the day the value of a game is what somebody is willing to buy it for, not what somebody is willing to try and sell it for.

I don't know where you live, but nostalgia is 18 bucks were I am, and 36 complete in box. Hell the only one in that list I would say is up there is Dark spire at about 80usd for a CIB copy. There ARE pricey DS games. I say as much. Just compared to other systems there aren't that many.

Personally I own Suikoden 2 & 5 along with Valkyrie Profile for the PS1.
Sui 2 is way up there. It's been on my "Too buy" list for years, but at its price I just can't.

nah Limited Run Games are not rare for me they force the game to become rare because it has no physical copy means it only a cash grab.. the best rare ones to find are the games that are release worldwide or specific regions only..

Never been a fan of Limited Run games. I appreciate that they’re supplying physical editions for people who want them, but their business practices just encourage scalping.
I mean.. they do everything in their power to prevent that. Most games have hard limits of 2 orders per person if not 1, and if multiple orders are found to ship to the same person/address or even charged to the same accounts they all get cancelled.
That said, a ton of the copies that sell immediately go up on ebay, but it's 1 or 2 per person so not REALLY scalping. And thankfully, if you just don't buy them from there, they basically always have to get sold at MSRP. The hype around LRG is dead. Their games don't go for much now.
