May I just say that the Nomad's Nation channel has been on a roll this week!!! Appreciate the speed that the recent vids have been coming up. Between that, responding to Fyro emails, & ordering gear (waiting for my new hotness!!!), y'all keeping me busy in the bag nerd space!!!
Oh I like the different mounting points for the strap. This one gets a lot of things right for me: large opening, wide enough strap and a good capacity when needed. I wonder if bottles etc would slip sideways when strapped to the bottom, but I'm not a bottle person anyway so prob wouldn't use it much. The magnetic stowaway thing is nice.
If your bottle has a loop, you can hook the bottle with a carabiner to one of the side loops to keep it more secure too, that way it won't fall even if it comes loose.
Removable straps are a good thing, as long as the attachment points are durable and secure. I know some people hate these g-hooks but I don't mind them, seems more secure and lasting than some other swivel or plastic clip implementations. Using it as a pouch is a plus especially if the bag itself is already lightweight but I'd want a grab handle/loop for that mode. Plus you can swap to your preferred strap if you can remove them easily.
Thanks, ordering one. Ticks a lot of boxes for a good sling in my book. It looks true to size as well for 5 liters compared to my way over spec'ed Bellroy Lite Sling 7l which cannot hold nearly as much as the Toshi (even though its supposedly 2 liters larger)...
yea measuring liters is much more an art than a science. Bellroy backpacks always feel very close to their advertised size, but their slings, not so much
Hi I have just come across your channel and your back pack and other reviews are really thorough with helpful information! I like what you are doing here! :D please could you do a review of the best roll top, dry back packs (e.g ones you would use for biking, commuting or water sports). Thanks!
This looks fairly well thought out. Sleek-looking yet also hiding helpful utility. I'm thinking about a smaller sling for when I don't need the capacity of my well-worn PD 10L sling, and this is going on my short list. At the very least, I'll keep an eye for other things this team come up with.
I spent a week in Japan with the Reset system by Rework Gear and am very happy how well it worked during my travels. The Toshi sling is a nice improvement on the Essentials case that is a part of that system so I'm disappointed that it doesn't have the molle webbing that would've allowed it to work with that system. Given how it's too small to fit a large tablet or laptop, having that molle system would allow it to be attached to their laptop case, kinda how the Wandrd Rogue sling works. Not really a rant. Just more of a "oh, what could've been."
Awesome review Aaron! It's pretty reasonable for the price, and all of the features this bag provides are excellent. Also, I want to see an X-Pac version of this bag or something similar.
I really like the Timbuktu 3.5 l bag. I sometimes would like a larger bag and will consider this review. I also, have the Alpaka bravo 10l I believe . Which does not pack well. Cheers thanks for the review Vancouver island Canada 😊
4:.21 you meant to say just under 4 cm. Would have loved a tablet size one. On the flip size it looks really good and is just the right blend of function and aesthetics.
aaron are you gonna restock the Fyro T22 backpack? I just checked your kickstarted and all the options say sold out. you're one of the few that has a vertical luggage strap. Any idea when you'll get it again?

Such a shame it doesn’t fit an iPad pro 11” as it would have been a perfect alternative to the regular Alpaka go sling otherwise (it wouldn’t even need to be that much bigger!). I actually prefer the shoulder strap system on this too, since it’s less bulky than the Alpaka’s. Hopefully they make a slightly larger 6 or 7L version to fit that model iPad!
Yeh was looking for that too. Be good to know for sure when you can check please? Last key in-flight item Id want sitting accessible to me in this small bag.
@@Cyc6969 I won't be able to for many months as I am traveling so best to maybe ask elsewhere, maybe Rework has a pair in their office and they can check for you
Honestly that probably happens because we are still a very new business and there’s not much activity they can use to judge if our site is trustworthy. We’re gonna submit a dispute with them, but we can guarantee there’s nothing dangerous about our site.
Great video as always Aaron! Nice bag and the lash thing is quite interesting... one of the somehow similar feature that is very cool in my Samurai sling, by Packolab
@@Nomads.Nation the Samurai sling is just awesome, probably one of the best slings that I have owned, plus the fact that Borys, the guy behind Packolab is a great guy!
I can see it is heavily inspired from Alpaka's slings and Aer interior. I bet I could swap the strap with the one that comes with the Vertex Pouch for better comfort. the lash straps seems better implemented that the one on Peak Design's Everyday Sling lineup: especially when you can easily stow them away when not in use. Also the anchor points looks like a great spot for Alpaka's Hub Keychain. A very solid product from my observation.
I see a bit of inspiration from other brands in there, but there hundreds of bag brands so no matter what if you dig hard enough there’s always a comparison to be made imo

G hooks are annoying but they are absolutely durable, no doubt about that

I believe the key leash can be moved to a different compartment as there are attachment loops in several compartments. Saw this in another review.

Great review! You said it doesn't fit a 12.9in iPad. How is the fit for an 11inch iPad pro w magic keyboard case?
don't have those so can't say for sure, I'd recommend asking Rework - please let us know what they say!

Aaron, which sling do you prefer, the Toshi or day sling 3 from AER?
Can’t go wrong with either, but I prefer simplicity and a clean aesthetic with my slings so I’ll give a slight preference to Aer
We like this one too.! Reckon you need to update your edc items mate.
Ha I only pack out the things I actually use and I clearly don’t update very often 😂

The features on this are crazy. I mean pretty genius tbh
Agreed. This is a serious sling. And it does it in a way that is feature heavy but never really feels clunky or gimmicky

Can this be worn round the waist as a bum bag? Nice review thanks
