hmm I dunno about building an extra acolyte right at the beginning, I used to do that and it slowed me down considerably on my progress... I just use an Acolyte from the mine, have him build and then back to mine...
my order: send acolytes to gold, train one acolyte, take one acolyte from mine and have him build altar, crypt and ziggurat, then back to mine... train another acolyte. Train crypt lord in altar, (I prefer DK as secondary hero), then train 2 ghouls and scout with them + hero... train more ghouls to wood and the rest is improvised

As for your question, upgrades are used except when a player is considering pushing past 50 food. As there is a tax on your gold income past 50 food, most players will get to 50 food then consider spending spare resources on upgrades as a way to use up those resources efficiently.
Undead fiends benefit greatly from damage upgrades so with these units in particular it's worth it to upgrade them.

I can't get to work first build in the way you do but second one is very good especially with destroyers/fiends, i don't like frosties too slow mov/attack reate and too long to built them, destoyers are much better especially with aoe nuke on army then two frosties to destroy buildings and gg wp

First off thanks for this guide. But why do you say that the fiend bo is mostly for 4v4? Usually i see UD go fiend bo in 1v1 too.
The majority of my experience in Warcraft 3 is in 4v4 RT & you see Undead go this build about 92.3% of the time :)
I don't think he said that it isn't a 1v1 strategy, but just far more common in 4v4.
I'm completely unable to creep those camps, need to learn so much... Any tips for early game farming? How can I know for sure how far creeps chase outside the camp?
Do you have some vids on 1v1 and 2v2 for newbies? Also, do you know any good w3 servers with better ping than bnet and enough number of players not to wait hours for a game?
Whats your opinion on getting the crypt lord early for extra beetles in a ghoul rush?

I have a couple questions about the first build.
1). Will it work against Humans/Orcs?
2). If you're too far away to harass with Ghouls (if it's a long 1v1 map or if there's water that blocks you off) can you still pull off this strategy with just gargoyles?

The first build order works better vs Human than Orcs early game (due to being able to harass fast expansions & peasants in main) but you want some Fiends really to apply real threatening pressure.
Gargoyles are best as a surprise element or initial early pressure. If you are able to cripple your opponents economy & wood gathering with them then you win, but it's pretty difficult to pull that off successfully unless you already have an advantage over your opponent. They are more risky as they can be countered fairly easily with a strong foundation of AA units in the army which then leaves you with not much else to work with.

One thing I really struggle against Human is the AoE Blizzard spell from the Archmage which just wrecks my frontline, no matter what race I play. I also find it hard to deal with the Paladin invulnerability.
I think you might need a Dreadlord hero if you're really struggling vs the Archmage's Blizzard, as you can cast sleep on him, it will stop the spell but attacking asleep targets will 'wake' them up immediately so keep that in mind. Maybe also try maneuvering with your front-line to avoid some waves :)
I have a question: Praticing with the CPU. I noticed something I am really weak, and I think people would use on online battle as well.
The thing is: I noticed how focus heavy they are on my Death Knight/Lich, so I micro them out of the combat, the problem is that this is annoying as hell, because the hero stays with low health the whole game until the statues start flowing, and if I focus on the enemy hero, he somewhat still gets the upper hand.
I really don't know how to deal with that. Battles that seems balanced or even in my favor are lost because I lost my time dancing with my hero and I don't see when the enemy micro to still keep the focus on my hero and go for my units while I am busy trying to survive.
Any hints about that?
JonnyWalker9888 I'm afraid you do need to dance with your DK, try to distribute damage taken evenly amongst your units so your DK doesn't stay at that low hp level. Most Undeads will tech fast for statues + fiends to reliably stand up against creeps and players,
Sometimes I wished the DK was long range attacker, because he have the bad habit of putting himself into harms way. =P
I guess I need to change him from masochist to a dancer, it seems.

+Holyflygon I find in 4v4 RT at least you can safely start upgrading Fiend/Frosty Dmg/Armour from tier 2+ as you'll probably have a reasonable amount of fiends by that point.
Is there any build order less agressive/defensive but effective to do? because I play with my friends most of the times and I don't want to annihilate them lol

Witii: u usually say that lag is not an acceptable issue in 2014, it is just an excuse. Well after a long time (spent with watcing videos and training offline) I decided to play some 4v4 multi but none of my 4 games since then was playable at all because of the monstrous lag. I have the best availabe internet in this area (40/20 Mbit/s) and a pretty strong pc. So yeah, lag can be an issue nowadays without any damn reason.
maybe you had bad internet at the time but it got fixed, or maybe your pc had a problem or maybe your browser fked up (which does cause massive lag while outside of the browser)

What about against human 1v1? I saw you trying to deal with one - it was a 2 hour video and something about a rival. best of 7. In hindsight do you think you could beat him with NE? Was it due to lack of practice (since I heard you mention you moved away from wow for a bit)? In that same video you said that human was the "best race" in 1v1 and 4v4RT

I'm aware that I've asked the Error 404 - L337 N008 4L3R7 question of "WHAT BEST??? WANT OP!!". I'm aware that the simple answer is actually - whatever I'm best with as a player. I guess I should rephrase a bit, and maybe a video could be made on this, who knows but maybe my question is better posed as this:

So why is it that your gut response was NE and why do humans work so well in 1v1 or 4v4rt or is this simply just unique to you?
The reason I ask all this is because I'm new to w3 but not to gaming or strategies. I like to master one thing before I attempt another and I'm seeking a solid race to play - not because it's op but because I will eventually learn to play it very well. So what I'm actually looking for is a flexibility that will allow me to come out on top nearly every time provided that I respond accordingly to begin with. Even more basically: I'd like to stick with a balanced race that doesn't easily get shut down if played well. As a noob I cannot judge which that would be.
R Kane Maybe guides in the future, but they are hard work. I simply know the things I do from experience, it's just something you learn and you develop a sixth sense when it comes to knowing how to react or what to do. It's not something you train, it's something you pick up~

i suck at this game and i've been practicing and not getting any better... build orders didn't really help me, in fact none of the build orders i've seen have...
Same, I can't even beat normal bots even though I watched hundreds of wc3 videos.
Hmm the build orders helped me a lot, before I watched them I literally was struggling against normal, but if I follow these guides I beat even Insane in most cases.
micromanagement is also an important part in winning i would suspect
have you played any moba games? i've been playing dota for 10 years now and never touched the real warcraft 3 game until last month. and i can say i'm pretty decent at this. wc3 is like 30% game sense and 70% micro management. which is if you've played dota before, it's pretty easy, because most of the stuff/items/abilities and mechanics are the same in dota

Night Elf is strongest against Orc. As Undead, 4-5 Ghouls.. tech to Tier 3... build into DK/Lich/Dark Ranger (or pitlord) with Fiend/Stats/Destroyers

I don't know a site with timings as you ask, Fiends just require a graveyard, so build one after a few ghouls. Stats = Obsidian Statues, they are basically healers/mana replenishment machines.
What about Banshees? What do they work well with?
And what about necrowagon?
Banshees are really situational. Great vs lots of magic (Magic Shell DOES NOT work vs spells). Banshees can also be used to troll people with mass possession, but not too many uses beyond that and/or as a counter to mass magic attack-type units. Necrowagon only really works vs people that do not know how to deal with it or don't see it coming and do not have anything with dispel (actually works decently well vs elf since elf does not have AOE dispel apart from wisps which can hurt their economy).
What about Meat Wagons + Necromancer? Is it a viable strategy?

Skeletons are quite squishy unless in a really, really big group (im not a pro but bare with me) you're gonna need lots of necros, at least 2 or 3 wagons and maybe 1 or 2 obsidian statues, 1 set for mana, 1 for heal or if you wanna keep those skeletons alive, set both lf them for heal, ultimately I don't like skeletons much and I set my necros ability to summon skeletons off all the time and just use their cripple ability on the enemy's heavy hitters and use unholy frenzy on my abominations and heroes, although I feel as if Im still not competitive, im not really confident with my advice of my skills yet, can I get a conformation or advice if what I just said is alright as a strategy? Undead is probably my fav race

It was foolish & insulting. I have worked incredibly hard, spent countless hours studying replays to bring these guides to viewers (many of whom can no doubt learn from them) so that the average player can enhance their Warcraft 3 experience. So to downvote because this means you may have to wait an extra day or so before getting new 4v4 games is really insulting to me. Especially since I have an absurd amount of 4v4 games that I can garuntee only 0.1% of my viewer base would have seen EVERYGAME.
So there are plenty of games to look through, I have multiple playlists updated with all of the Warcraft 3 content.
These guides are seriously hard work in comparison to the other work that I produce & people being "bored of them" are beyond selfish to treat them as lesser content just because they personally cannot benefit from them, well guess what, there are other people out there too that can.
I have a very low tolerance for selfishness & stupidity.

I think I have seen every one of your vids and I just go back and choose a random one because it is a little less entertaining for me. Why should you only get 2 statues ? Why not more so you can regenerate even more mana and health ?
Engimato Statues Health or Mana replenishing abilities do not stack. They can heal/mana up to 6 nearby targets. So you can take a few statues if you wish but typically 2 is enough, 1 for heal 1 for mana.
Oh so the statues have sort of an aoe, nice I didn't know that !

+Wilhelm Lundstrøm From my experience vs Orc/Human Undead tend to go Ghouls until Tech, meanwhile they harass with DK, once they begin teching they either creep or harass (mostly creep) with ghouls for experience & pick the items back up when they return with the Deathknight. Towards the end of the tech they get Graveyard into Fiends & Stats along with Lich then a Destroyer or 2 for control
also what if i dont know what my opponent is? if he picks random, should i go scout for the base first, and THEN build the hero, or just guess so its timed better?

+Wilhelm Lundstrøm no worries, I don't play Undead often but in almost all cases the Undead harasses with their Hero to slow down their opponents who naturally get off to a quicker start (Undead are slow) so you will find out just by sending your hero over to their likely creep spots or base.
However, you can always produce an acolyte (5 on gold mine & 1 to scout) to suss them out.
Ghouls work too but don't scout with ghouls if you go early fiend build as you'll need wood.

+CryoMancer No.1 Death Knight is just too powerful, Death Coil for massive heals (deny enemy experience from kills) as well as granting experience by sniping enemy units from range. Unholy Aura allows the mostly used Fiends from the Undead Army much more faster & efficient in battles.
It's not that the Dreadlord is bad, it's just that the Deathknight is too good.

This may work vs bots .but not in a real game - you have to adapt to your enemies actions.

This build order is focused for 4v4 RT & there is no specific creep route because this is a build order.
I used Market Square as an example of a 4v4 map & what you 'can' do on this map.
There are 12 maps in the map pool for 4v4 RT, creating a creep route for each would be impossible due to time commitments.
As for explaining scenarios such as being surrounded, semi surrounded, left alone etc... this is a build order. 4v4 RT can be a highly unpredictable beast & to expect a full explanation on how to play every aspect of the game as well as the build order is an unrealistic expectation.
This is for new players learning how to compete in 4v4 RT as Undead, it is a safe comfortable build that will allow them to progress through the early levels of 4v4 RT as they learn the game, race & maps. Eventually they can also learn how to adapt this build to the environments they will play on.
I have been rank 1 in 4v4 RT not long ago so I am no stranger to playing on it, I hope that people can benefit from this build order & have fun on the ladder with it.
Do you have any credentials or experience in 4v4 RT at high level, at rank 1? If so please respond with proof. Otherwise your attitude is poor & disrespectful.
I have created a guide to help players (specifically newer, less experienced players) to get a grip with the Undead race in 4v4 RT & from my experiences as a rank 1 player this build will help guide them in the right direction.

Also i want to correct the issue about the 5th gold acco - you build him directly after:
a) fiend bo : crypt,grav, altar, 5th gold acco [....]
b) ghul bo : crypt, altar and well 5th acco will be built nearly at the same time as the ziggu.
(there are 2 ghul tacs anyway - fast hero and standard hero)
but i m way 2 lazy to explain the bo´s... just download a replay from wan at replayers.com and watch it... way better and hes a 1000times better player than wtii is. But as i ve said : for beginners wtiis bo is acceptable.. ~~

How do you upgrade tech?
You upgrade your main building - The Necropolis - to reach different tiers which will allow more advanced units.
You upgrade units from either the building they are created from or by upgrading their attack/armour from the graveyard.

+Victor Jasso Meatwagons are the best counter. They have siege damage and do 150 % damage against siege engines (fortified armor). Try to slow the tanks down by blocking them (ghouls etc) on their way to your base/exp.
Mass repair buildings with acolytes while trying to destroy the tanks with melee (or basically all the of units you have available), but melee does more damage. I'm afraid quite some damage is already done if you haven't scouted the eninges before they are just outside your base though, but if you pay attention to your enemy's movement you should be able to force him back.
