Had this one bookmarked to check out. Very interesting. Checked this while I'm enjoying the holidays. Thanks again Peter.

Peter, thanks for putting this together. I've really valued your sessions on Purview eDiscovery, retention, and related topics in the past. Perhaps in a future video, you could dive more into the rationale behind you saying that versioning, retention policies, etc. are not necessarily stand-ins for M365 backup? Things like RTO/RPO, alternate datacenter backup, and how backups are immutable/not subject to eDiscovery seem like a handful of key points, but it'd be great to hear what stands out to you. Cheers!

    Hi Peter,
Good to see Microsoft is bringing such platform. I know one of the backup and restore solution provider which is N-able.

Yes it's an important addition to M365 I feel. Long overdue.

good video thanks! but I thing Microsoft is not developing brand new solution. MS will take over solution from company like veeam etc.

Indeed they are, and hopefully this week we will find out more about it at Ignite.

Don't know much about Datto I must admit, but Veeam is long established and very good.

Here's an idea: why doesn't MS just offer this for free? Why jump through all these hoops and the cost....

Ha, would be nice, but MS like any other business want to make money. 💰
