Hey mark!..just wanted to say thanks for all the great lessons over the past couple years!..looking forward to the course! I just myself recently posted an acoustic bass video..covering your version of silent night..ill post it under this comment check it out sometime!😊
Next chord video, can we expect 7ths? Minor 7th, major 7th, lowered 7th (#6)? I'm looking forward to it. Root, 3rd and 7th are the most defining, I think. The 3rd is often octaved.
This is a clip from the new course. That goes FAR beyond this. But if you want just seventh chords, I’ve got lots of videos detailing them on here. Just search Talkingbass Seventh Chords
I don't know what the deal is with this recording, but after listening to the first five minutes I have to say that the chords sound rather muddy even high up on the neck. It's like you've EQed out all the highs leaving only mud.
You know when you talk about cash mate… stop using the words dollars and bucks…you’re an Englishman for goodness sake! Pounds and pence from now on ta. ( not in this vid…but have noticed it before) be cool. You play the bass! 🕶
It's unbelievable how many of my mental roadblocks this video has cleared. Thanks a million mate!
👍👍 Two Thumbs Up for Mark Smith, one of the best bass music instructors!👍👍
I absolutely love your content and gives me the courage to attempt understanding music theory
In the vast realm of guitar playing, one often underxplored yet powerful technique is the art of chords voicing.
Thank you, man 🤟🏼
A superb lecture and one I will return to again. Thank you very much.
Thank you, Mark, for doing this . Things are really starting to make sense.
Wonderful video.
Well explaination about voicing thank you Mark
Great stuff, Thanks Mark
Hey Mark! Can you do more on the understanding of fills! I have been on your lessons map and its great! Maybe more in depth!? Cheers
Have you checked out the pentatonic vids etc.
Perfect 👌🏻
The 5th is a 'butter note' which you can leave out, except of course if it's diminished or augmented ;-)

That's the last of a 3 part series I did. I'd recommend trying the other lessons too.

Yup. But I sell in dollars because 85% of customers are American. Plus, most countries deal in dollars. It's purely based on the customer base.
Maybe one day we will trade in Gravity Units, (GUs) -- and I can purchase physical copies of The Cyber Bassist Volumes 1&2 in GUs@@talkingbasslessons
