    Yo can also use an external usb power supply for the pad and for the vacuum rather than connecting them to your laptop directly ( if the main goal is cooling), the fact that your laptop have to give power for any kind of accessory reflects in temperature changes.

    Recently got this item,worked and performed as expected-.The laptop vacuum cooler did reduce the temp about 8-10C while playing heavy games.However, I still keep my cooling pad so that the hot air won't get stuck below the ground.This will help prevent CPU throttling. The fan is loud when set into the highest speed,but it wont bother you too much.Thank you for this honest review! I would definitely recommend this item since this is very rare to find in local malls.

    The most important trait a cooling pad should give the laptop is height. The higher/further away your lappy is from a solid desk, the better the exhaust will flow, and less of that hot exhaust will build up and radiate back into your computer. You'll see the biggest gains simply raising the computer up a couple inches.

    • @DontShineForSwine
      @DontShineForSwine 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely! I use a cooling pad and it is raised quite a bit off my desk or when I am lying in bed playing a MMORPG which makes such a difference since the game is massive and it can heat up very fast without the cooling pad. It also has two different heights, which makes it even better. It is an MSI gaming laptop so you'd think they would have more than 1 fan. The bottom of my laptop does have an X shape with tiny holes to help with air flow as well. When I purchased a Samsung gaming laptop a few years ago, it actually did have two fans and it never got hot at all. But I can't seem to find one that was similar, so I recently went with MSI. I know I could have easily built a new PC with how much I did end up spending on this one, but I am constantly on the move so it just made a lot more sense to get the laptop.

    The cooling pad is useful for cooling the hard drive / SSD, the RAM and the motherboard in general. Especially for laptops with an air intake vents underneath. My previous laptop's 5400 rpm hard drive was 5-10C cooler with a cooling pad.

    • @SuperLusername
      @SuperLusername 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My Nitro 5 has plenty of intake area underneath including right where the two vents (for CPU and GPU) are. This makes my Nitro 5 have several degrees lower peak temps.
      And peak temps are all that interest me. I dont really care if average drops from 73 to 71, that's irrelevant. What I need is for peak temps to go from 96 to 90 or lower and cooling pad achieves this.
      So my recommendation is to always look underneath the gaming laptop before you buy.

    The best solution of cooling is that you might re apply thermal paste on your CPU. Make sure that you choose a premium or high quality thermal paste like cooler master master gel, etc., Cooling pad (on the back) it's really doesn't affect for the cooling. Because the backside of the laptop is fully covered so that the internal component was covered.

    • @emmanuelgallardo8232
      @emmanuelgallardo8232 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @taburetka gayka in what thermal paste did you use? Well premium laptops are also not well good in cooling solution as PC. All of the components are compressed and small ventalation at the backside. Unlike with PC you can install the aftermarket case fans, or custom water cooling, etc., And it has a lot of space.

Last but not the least I disassemble my laptop and clean it internally and replace thermal paste every 3-5 months because even if you have cooling pad or vacuum cooler if the vents is clogged with dust and dirt it won't fully do its job and I don't recommend using compressed air as it only push back the dirt inside which will gradually go back to the vents and fan eventually

    I have the same feedback with cooling pads. They don't really help much on cooling your laptop especially your processor. I'm very interested in this vacuum cooling fan though.
    Another way to lower your laptop's temperature is to clean it (open it up and remove the dust), and apply a new thermal grease on your processor. This approach helped me lower my laptop's temperature by 10-15 degrees. Though it took me a few months to muster the courage of disassembling my laptop. :)

      I've learned the cooling pad are nice business gimmick.

      Exactly the same thing happened with my laptop. Previously it was thermal throttling like crazy FC4 720p lowest setting, I would get CPU throttle after 5 min of gameplay. Now after cleaning and changing the thermal paste. I can easily play for an hour without any frame drops or thermal throttle. After that, it throttles for 20-30 seconds, and then again I can play for like 45 to 50 min before another episode of throttling. So guys clean your laptop and change thermal paste once a year. Better in 6 months

    thought about removing the bottom cover of my laptop and making some adjustments where a laptop cooling pad would become the cover so the air hits the inside of the computer directly. Of course making sure to protect any electrical parts first. i cant use a vacuum cooler because my vents are located on the bottom. but im a bit concerned because dust buildup would be much faster and internals would be easier to damage. But im having a major issue with my computer overheating and shutting down randomly. I just replaced my hard drive a few weeks ago and dont really have the means necessary to replace more parts. ive tried everything to get it to stay cool with no luck. the computer is a little over a year old and has seen hours of daily use so its had a rough life but i wouldnt expect things to get this bad this fast. my last computer sat on the stove and had the entire bottom of it melted when someone turned the stove on and also had the keyboard completely destroyed by my kids chocolate milk so i had to use an external keyboar but computer still ran perfectly fine until i smashed it on the floor . this one doesnt even have a scratch and seems to have issue after issue. its a Lenovo Ideapad 320 so its not the greatest laptop but for S400 i would expect more for the little abuse its gone through.

    I already knew that a cooling pad won't do you any good. It's more of a surfacing cooling device and the air won't do much against the hot interior. Instead, you should only be using an air extracting/vacuum cooling fan that attaches to the air vent of your laptop for better gameplay performance. That's why they have those fans in computer desktop towers and in game consoles; so that you're able to play smoother in any screen resolution. Another thing you should check up on is dust and use an air compressor to gently fan it all out.

    when you blow a balloon you seal it with your lips for a reason.
    so get a cooling pad that actually is a cooling pad rather then a board with fan that takes up energy.
    throwing air at the base with no seal, will always make the air intake depand on the fan of the laptop.
    with seal it is going to travel through your laptop doesnt matter your laptop fans are working or not.
    and that my friend is cooling the system.
    so get something like - klim gt 300 or this vacuum cooler.

    I bought one of these cheap docks with the huge fan ... The fan spins way too slow I barley feel it on my hand , is there any component I can add to give it a boost , it claims to be 5v (usb powered).. This one fan would be enough for me I am not gaming , I was just wondering if you might know a trick or a hack to give the fan a boost.. i was thinking of snipping the USB and just connecting to a power plug putting out a little higher voltage/amperage its not connected to the computer in anyway worst case i kill a cheap fan right ? I like the way your setup looks with both even if it only makes a 3 degree difference

    Vacuum alone + my 4 fan cooling pad gave me a 66-70 degrees max on cpu during loading + gaming on gta 5.
    This was performed on an:
    Alienware 17 R3 laptop from 2017 with Expired Thermal Glue (cannot replace due to the big risk of breaking the laptop as a whole as it proved extremely difficult to get to the CPU)
    Overall idle gave a 29-35 degree total.
    This was with the cool pad + the laptop cooler.

  • @coytan36

    It's been years since you uploaded this review. May I know if your fans had any problems? Since you are forcing your fans to rotate almost at equal speed with you vacuum. Or somehow oppose the normal rotation and pull it out from its center (depending on the placement or design of the fans).

    The cooling pad doesn't actually always work because most of them is made out of some type of metal, which would absorb and keep the heat trapped. You would need a gap/elevation in between it to actually maximize the cooling of the pad

      @condorX2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right.
      I saw a video where the person tweak it graphic setting and drop it temperature in half without any cooling fan while he played an intensive fsp game with the before and after result.
      It's all come down to the individual knowledge. My is a combination of graphic setting tweak, using power saver, don't block the bottom vent, don't let dust build up and closing unused programs.
      I've learned the cooling pad are nice business gimmick.

    Is it really okay to have a cooling fan under a laptop? If the air is making its way up to the vent of the laptop's won't it actually send dust inside? Won't it do the other way around since the laptoo might accumulate dust from the external fan.

  • @mightytea7516

    Does the vaccum cooler 100% safe? Does the suction causes the laptop fan to overspeed?

    • @IanSumallo
      @IanSumallo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not at all. Laptop fan will do its own rpm on its own speed. The vacuum cooler just helps suck out more hot air. Coolcold actually helps a lot more because some of the laptops only have heatsinks with passive cooling, so this helps a lot on those. Been using the vacuum cooler for about a year now, and it's still chugging along just fine keeping my lenovo t520 cool.

    Cooling Pads aren't that useful all the times, they always come in different models, that are more than useless to you, but you can always build one by yourself, to suit your needs. just get a few fans from some old PC energy sources, and create the ultimate freezer for your laptop, as well as a vacuum for it. just need some technical skills, that's all, the materials can come really cheap, compared to what's on the market.

      You could buy 3 units but I don't think those will cool it significantly. They will just make the airflow slightly better. They cant and wont cool the source of the heat directly (the gpu and cpu)

    • @Pur3St0rm
      @Pur3St0rm 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be attached to the side vent.
      There are two fans in strix ii, one with one exhaust and one with two exhaust.
      If you put the vacuum cooler on one of the back vent, it will basically have no exit (maybe it will push out thru the bottom, but thats usually where the fan actually pulls air from)
      So make sure it is the side one, so it can push from the side, and push out towards back
